May 1 19:24:28 World Collector ♥ 2 I thought this was a very cleverly constructed game. I liked how many new challenges were thrown at the player throughout the game but I maybe would have introduced them a bit more slowly. You get a lot of satisfaction once you figure out how to progress! I think I got to the 4th level but I wasn't having much luck defending both sides from the exclamation mark, while shooting asteroids, avoiding moons and dropping ice blocks in front of missiles missiles and timing everything to perfection :D But that's just because I can't multitask ;) Nice job guys!
May 1 19:53:47 29m 19s Antagonistic : Hamburger Hill ♥ 2 Fun entry! An area of attack feature like Nathan mentioned would improve this a lot! It was nicely paced I thought. Nice work on the music!
May 1 20:54:34 1h 00m Little Lands ♥ 2 Amazing game! Loved everything about it. It was a nice challenge to work out which resources to prioritise. Inevitably there comes a point where You no longer feel the need to carry on, but with a few more game mechanics/higher tier buildings in there it would be really tempting so see how big you can get.
May 1 22:10:41 1h 16m World Destroyer ♥ 1 Fun game! The bullet orbiting the earth was a great idea, I don't think too many games make use of the double edged sword mechanic. Reminds me of the disc gun in Super Crate Box. The intro was very funny. I reckon polish this one up and enlist the help of an artist and you're onto a winner. The only thing I'd suggest is to not have the player always jump in an inescapable arc. Also sometimes the jump physics went a little weird, which I think other people may have mentioned so I won't go into too much detail about that. Other than that everything was really solid! Also, thanks for playing our game! If you have a free moment I hope you'll revisit to give us a score! Thanks! Rob
May 1 23:07:52 57m 11s Space Turtle ♥ 1 I subscribed to you on YouTube during the Jam as I was reminded of your high scores tutorial (I suggested the website to my brother and we used it for out game this time! and I also used the tutorial in the past for a solo effort). I also followed your platformer tutorial series and am very much looking forward to the lecture on pushing blocks ;) I am really impressed with what you did in 48 hours, despite the hurdles! I am the artist/animator on our team and I really love what you've done here. The turtle has a simple beauty and the animation works great on both him and the globe. I like how the multiplier tokens appear hazy in the distance and then sharpen up. Gameplay wise I'm also impressed. The controls are very responsive yet don't feel too snappy for such a soothing/slightly eerie game. Depth perception was a slight problem, for the asteroids but mainly the multipliers, is was hard to tell where I was in relation to them. Maybe this could be remedied by giving the turtle and the multipliers a glow and having the boulders near o them be illuminated by it (just a point light really). It would also look quite pretty! It also felt as if I was having to fly underneath the multipliers in order to catch them? I definitely ended up aiming to fly below them and that seemed to help my success rate. When you move up and down the globe momentarily blocks your view. I guess some might say this adds an element of challenge because you're responsible for keeping your own camera clear, but I felt it messed with my sense of space too much to find it a fun challenge. Maybe make it transparent as it flies in front of your camera? Music was very fitting, you were probably better off using the music generator by the looks of the feedback you've got! Fantastic work! I'm inspired as a coding newbie to go and check out some of your other tutorials now! Rob
May 1 23:43:06 35m 14s The Cookie Knight ♥ 1 I do look forward to the simple 2D platformers every Ludum Dare! We're yet to have a go at that genre. I had a lot of fun playing this. Apart from the character being a bit slidey it was a lovely little challenge. I liked the themes of the individual levels. Nice work! Also, thanks for checking out our game! I hope you'll get a chance to revisit us at some point now that ratings have been implemented! Cheers! Rob
May 1 23:53:20 10m 14s Penicilin wars ♥ 0 Nice work! As the others said it is quite a challenge! I like the simple keyframes you have for the jumping animation.extending halfway through the jump. Nice! I would get rid of the bounce on landing if possible though. Also thanks for checking out our game! It seems someone has knocked you out of first place ;) If you come to try and defend your title, I hop you'll give us a rating too! Cheers! Rob
May 2 00:14:08 20m 48s Miniverse ♥ 1 Amazing game! It's got such a strong character to it. The crafting element along with the tips form the NPCs really elevated it. I'm the artist/animator on our entry and I really love your style. The art and animations are all beautifully done. I love the sound too, I was really surprised to see an entry of this quality so early on in my ratings! Also thanks very much for checking out our game! Cheers, Rob
May 2 01:03:35 49m 27s Globey's Revenge ♥ 1 Take that capitalism! As a Sonic-inspired platformer, your game does well (especially for 72 hours). The graphics were nice and clean and colourful, I liked the sound effects when launching your population at enemies (nice inclusion of the Wilhelm scream), and the music was catchy. The gameplay itself could do with a bit of streamlining (I found I had to advance very slowly lest I crash into too many enemies/spikes), and the controls, while serviceable, were a bit buggy at times (I found myself unable to go around loops even if I held only the down button). I like your the take on the theme, though I get the feeling you didn't have the time to fully implement your ideas (I know the feeling). Was kind of hoping the third stage would have a boss battle, but I guess you can't have it all! Overall, good job! Please check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have the time.
May 2 01:43:58 40m 23s Bill's Micro Adventure ♥ 2 Good effort. The graphics were pretty good, but the frame rate got inexplicably low at around 4 ants. It would be nice if the ants didn't just walk directly towards where you are, because it becomes a bit overwhelming after a while (and got to a point where I couldn't even spawn any more). Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a few moments 🙂.
May 2 02:39:00 55m 02s Damn it, Don't Die! ♥ 2 An interesting mechanic, great graphics, relaxing music and nice sound effects. Great job! The major gripe I have with the game is that there is seemingly no end goal! I found it relatively easy to get the hamsters synced up by pre-clicking on the items they were about to interact with. Then I just have to chase the pack around clicking on one item at a time. This seemed to work no matter how large my hamster pack got. In the end, I made my own goal to breed the largest hamster horde! I think this could have been the official aim of the game, as it makes it quite fun! You could have kept an online scoreboard using [dreamlo.com](http://dreamlo.com) and got everyone competing. I managed to get to 11 hamsters before one of them got stuck behind the lamp, and got in the way of all the other hamsters. Behold! dontdie.png The only other complaint I have is that I'm using two monitors, and I kept clicking outside of the game screen which caused it to minimize. Would be good if you could restrict the mouse to the game window. Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a free moment 🙂.
May 2 03:01:19 22m 19s Spider Collider ♥ 2 Loved the music and the minimalist graphical style. The game was very fun, but I agree with BadRAM that it was a bit easy because of the repeating sides of the screen. I found that I could complete most levels by repeatedly jumping off the side of the screen with minimal effort to avoid things. Making the sides of the screens result in death, and making the orbs move slower in general (especially the lightweight ones) could improve this. But the game was still very fun and aesthetically impressive. Good job! Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 05:28:08 26h 26m Nocturne ♥ 0 Very nice atmosphere. I loved the sequence in the armchair with the accompanying music. Would have loved for the game to be longer, and I got a bit lost in the dark because I turned off the light. Other than that, a really nice effort. Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a few moments 🙂.
May 3 05:51:58 23m 50s "It's a small world!" ♥ 1 Very cute game, but pretty difficult! I found myself wandering up and down for ages trying to find my "victim" and found myself being forced into the road very frequently. I couldn't complete the magician level, as I didn't know how to interact with him while also keeping my distance. One stylistic point is that it would have been nice if the dinosaur turned around when walking down. I wanted to see his face! Nice blocky and colourful graphical style, great presentation, and an impressive take on the theme. Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 06:02:54 10m 56s Small World ♥ 1 Nice graphical style, but the controls were a bit wonky. I found myself turning when I didn't want to turn. It would have been nice to have some sound effects and perhaps some risk to the protagonist. Also, the player clipped through all the scenery, which was slightly weird. Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a few moments 🙂.
May 3 06:12:45 9m 51s Why Go Outside? ♥ 1 Definitely a good idea, though I would have liked more depth to the gameplay. Nice take on the theme. Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Congrats on the high score 🙂.
May 3 06:16:20 3m 35s Recoil Assault ♥ 1 A neat idea, but it was very hard to kill the enemies while staying on the platform. Perhaps it would have been easier if altering your trajectory only took a few shots. Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 06:25:06 8m 46s SlapR ♥ 2 I like the concept (very similar to ours 😉). The background noise is really fitting, and the graphical style is very clean and crisp. I love how the camera shakes when you kick the penguins. I had trouble making contact with the penguins a few time, and several times I got launched into the air and failed because more penguins came to attack my igloo while I was still airborne. I like the fact that this feels like a complete game, which is more than can be said for most other entries! Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 06:34:33 9m 27s KeyPuppers ♥ 1 Really original idea, with a really cute style. I really love games that break the fourth wall in this way. Unfortunately, I found the game pretty hard to play (maybe it's something to do with having an ergonomic keyboard layout). The best tactic seemed to be to simply spam all of the keys, focusing on the areas of the keyboard closest to death. I'm sure that the gameplay could be tweaked to add more of a challenge though. Thanks for checking our our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 06:44:02 9m 29s Unnamed Space Project ♥ 2 Nice graphics and particle effects! Obviously, your game needs a lot of work to make it playable. I don't know if it's possible to defeat the first wave of enemies, but I sure couldn't! Thanks for checking out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 06:59:09 15m 07s Mouse and Blade ♥ 1 Very nice graphics and retro theme. It really feels like and old 8-bit platformer. Made it all the way to the end. I liked the variation in enemies and the difficultly level, and the checkpoints were well-placed. I personally found that the jump height corresponding to the button timing was a bit awkward, but others seem to like it. Well done! Thanks for taking a look at our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at). Much appreciated 🙂.
May 3 07:13:04 13m 55s Momma ZILLA ♥ 2 Nice work. I liked the blink feature, but kept getting all my babies killed! Very cute retro graphics and nice simple but catchy music. Nicely done. Check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at) if you have a few moments. Thanks very much 🙂.
May 3 07:22:20 9m 16s The Littlest Kaiju ♥ 0 Nice graphics and music. I ended up protecting a single city from destruction, which proved fairly easy. I feel like the controls could have been a bit quicker, as the game is fairly slow paced as it is. Overall, good effort! Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a few moments. Thanks very much 🙂.
May 3 07:27:07 4m 47s Headspace ♥ 5 Wow. That was a strange but interesting experience. I jumped when the eyeballs appeared at the beginning. Had a very artsy feel, and while I'm not sure I understood the meaning of what was going on, I enjoyed the experience. Good job! Feel free to check out our game, [E.(a)T.](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at), if you have a few moments. Thanks very much 🙂.
May 6 00:11:34 64h 44m iii ♥ 1 Flawless art style! I really loved the item collect animation. I would say that the gameplay was polished but quite basic for a jam platformer. ie/ run here, collect an item which gets you double jump, run here, collect an item which gets you a new power etc etc. Maybe some more lateral thinking puzzles would have been good. The platforms that are only visible with a certain eye were the hardest obstacle to overcome and even they were very easy to master. But overall it was a very pro looking and feeling game! And quite moody! Cheers! Rob
May 13 13:41:34 181h 30m To do list ♥ 2 SPOILERS: THAT PIXEL ART! I love all the inventory icons. And the mood, oh my goodness. In terms of the story I couldn't really figure out what his descent into madness, or the reversed time symbolised (I don't know, was it just about killing his friend? what did the alien creatures symbolise? Were they symbolic even?) or if it was just intended to be unnerving, but I was definitely unnerved. The music was fantastic. I thought the first track didn't really fit the mood, it was a little too bouncy and arcadey for the setting, but then it ended up juxtaposing the eerie tracks quite nicely so I can see why you went with that style. I don't know whether the "paint the roof blue" when you actually paint it red was deliberately misleading or a mistake, but I spent quite a while looking for a way to turn my red paint blue, and almost gave up at one point. Pretty much full marks from me guys (apart from humor), nice job. If you'd like to check out our game, that would be great! Cheers! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at
May 13 14:11:40 30m 06s Flerth ♥ 2 Haha, oh my! This was very fun, but I think some balancing is in order, at a certain point failure is all but inevitable because of the limited speed you can perform actions compared to how fast the little guys are spawning. Maybe if there was no delay on picking up and dropping, since there is a man-made delay anyway based on you own reactions. I really like the art, animation and sound! Cute character designs! If you fancy trying out our game, we'd love your feedback! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at
May 13 14:23:38 11m 58s tinyarena ♥ 0 Really good entry! I like the weapons, and that enemies attack each other rather than all gunning for you. The rail gun is satisfying when you get the hang of it. Forces you to be patient. Really could have benefited from some thumping arena battle music. The enemy AI got stuck a little easily, but impressive AI nonetheless. Graphics great, nice sound effects. Nice work! If you like to rate our game, we'd really appreciate it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Cheers!
May 13 14:33:21 9m 43s Depth Gun ♥ 0 I really liked the art style! and the movement/ environments are great! I couldn't really tell what was going on with the shielded enemy, he seemed impossible to damage for ages, with either weapon, and then the shield just went away. Do you just have to wait around until the shield disappears? In any case i could never really see a point in using the bullet gun since the missiles were 100 times easier to use. Great effort! If you'd like to check out our game, it's here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Thanks!
May 13 14:51:27 18m 06s The Adventure of Malvin ♥ 1 Agreed with parkdraws. Cute as heck. The spin animation especially, I could watch that loop for hours ^. Art style is great, you've done so much with so few pixels and colours, really makes me question why I went for fulling rigged 60fps 3D models XD. BGs are great, loving little credit scene at the end too. Wall jumps could do with a little delay, so you can just a fraction of a second after you've changed directions. Feels counter-intuitive to jump into the wall and then change direction. Otherwise the controls felt great! I played on gamepad as suggested. Great game dude! If you'd like to check out ours it's over here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Thanks!
May 13 15:17:45 26m 18s Paisley Princess ♥ 1 HI GOOD GAME ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
May 13 15:34:14 16m 29s Monolith ♥ 2 Really interesting visual style! Love the simple geometry of it. Nice controls, nice music, nice art. The enemies can feel a little obnoxious. I find this in many rail shooters though. I preferred the enemies that weren't shooting constantly because I actually had a choice of how and when to attack, rather than just keeping slightly ahead of a stream of bullets the whole time. Really nice job over all! If you'd like to play our game it's over here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Cheers!
May 16 22:20:35 78h 46m Hops and Fever Dreams ♥ 1 It is definitely like a fever dream :D Like others have said the physics of the jumping is really confusing. Sometimes it jumped when touching the ground, sometimes it didn't, sometimes it jumped in the air, sometimes it didn't, the jump heights were all random, sometimes when going round a corner you'd just fall back where you came from. I can only think that You used some sort of weird 2Dphysics setup to calculate the jumps :D As I was writing this I went back to the game and discovered that you can do plops if you hold down the down arrow XD. This game just went up in my estimates. If I mash the jump key I can sort of hover just above the ground without ever losing sideways momentum, and then poop in order to give myself velocity and start orbiting somewhat. However I always fail to mash space efficiently enough and fall down before I can make that ludicrous jump! I'm afraid to say tried my best but I couldn't finish your game! I really like the graphics by the way. The square space bunny design is 👌 Our game is over here if you'd like to try it https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at
May 16 22:43:26 22m 51s Tiny Colonies ♥ 1 Really cute game! I love love love the minimal pixel style. There were some elements of the game that possibly weren't explained by your tutorial. Like is there a maximum number of workers per saw mill/farm, or do you just need one of each. Do the workers themselves make food? them seem to. My workers love making food so much that it was all they wanted to do and stopped chopping trees altogether. It was fun nonetheless and I like working out the quirks of games like this (unless they're game breaking quirks 😉 ) Nice job! If you'd like to check out our game it's over here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at. Cheers!
May 16 23:10:14 26m 48s TARJECTORIES ♥ 0 I won with ~497000 points and 37% accuracy! I had quite a lot of fun with this. I was about to give up and complain that it's near impossible to hit far away planets with any kind of accuracy, but then I started to get better at it. It's a little frustrating having to wait for your last projectile to explode before you can loose another one. I think it's great in it's simplicity. Googly eyes! I tried to win again to see if the planets would get any other facial features, but I got given a level where I was almost perfectly out of sync with the target on the other planet (It was always somewhere on the far side when I tried to line up my shot) and so all I could do was shoot a projectile into orbit and see if it would land anywhere near. After about 5 minutes of that I gave up :D Also projectiles will last between levels and land on your if you're really unlucky :D Nice idea, interesting challenge, more fun than most! Could use a bit of polish! If you'd like to try our game it's here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Cheers! Rob
May 16 23:20:24 10m 10s Anger Birb: World ♥ 0 Is it even possible to win? I sear I hit the target a bunch of times but it always said I was off. Funny game! If you'd like to check out our game it's over here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/e-at Cheers! Rob
