LD39 — Running out of Power

Tax Rebel by LeReveur 2017-08-01T21:21:12Z

It took me a while to figure out but when I did it was challenging (it took me like 10 tries to capture my first charge)! I agree with an earlier post, materializing sight may have been out of the scope of a project in Ludum Dare but I think it would be a very helpful component for players. I am glad you were able to capture the frustration of having my TV shut off while drinking my oil beer :joy:

Geralt's secret powersource by Sublustris 2017-08-01T13:52:41Z

I Liked it! The game was fun and pretty easy to pick up. I noted some things I thought you did well and some things I think show room for improvement!

Things I liked- The angry snail guys made me smile The death clouds were cool The censored sign when you were being healed (I actually laughed out loud for this one) How the ladies would talk to you about the game while playing

Things I saw that could use some improvement- Sometimes it was hard for me to hit enemies (maybe extend the colliders when he swings, or instantiate a different collider on swing) The first play through I was not sure if both bars (Hearts/ green and red bars) were for health. (Maybe add text that says health and WAVE POWER!!!! Idk have fun with it)

I liked the game it was fun and I even stayed around to play a few rounds. Good work!

Spacesteroids by novotmike 2017-08-03T14:09:44Z

I liked it! Two things I really liked: how it cut you off from shooting, and that you could destroy your power upgrades. Something I would have liked to see would be enemies that move, maybe even if it was just random movement. The planet names were fun too! Great job!

I'm an (nuclear) engineer! by zgragselus 2017-08-01T14:40:58Z

Love the cooling towers! Reminds me of that CS map! Cool stuff!

âš¡ Swing Bolt âš¡ by AJ Weeks 2017-08-02T15:08:22Z

1) My town started testing the tornado sirens during my first attempt at playing... that gave me a good scare!

2) I really really liked the game play! I could see this being a 4 player party game where players are pitted against each other to stay alive the longest (seriously add multiplayer please). Great job!

Tycoon by dob 2017-08-03T14:36:55Z

I loved this game... actually it may have been one of my favorite submissions so far! It was like a new twist on an old puzzle fighter game (like Pokemon Puzzle League or Street Fighters Puzzle Fight). The sounds made me laugh and I found myself very invested in beating all the badies! I would love to see this game multiplayer on a tablet or something could be a ton of fun! Thanks for the submission and FANTASTIC job!

Wizard's wrath by nodex 2017-08-02T15:00:50Z

I really really really liked the wizard sprite! It reminded me of Yoshi's story. Sound would have really brought this game together but I still think the game was fun and satisfying!

Cranked 1911 by zee 2017-08-02T14:34:40Z

This had me giggling the whole time! The player character bounce is what did it for me.

Down to the last Percents by Garazbolg2 2017-08-02T14:17:17Z

I really liked the art! The first monster gave me a real good jump! Something else I liked was that when you wake up your phone does not have 100% battery; made it feel very real for me. I agree with @rigdonware it was hard for me to hide not sure if I was doing something wrong (I as well tried S and down arrow). Still it looked good and was fun I would love to see you expand on this idea and add some apps/ maybe removable batteries on the floor to give you a little extra boost!

Wodewick, the grumpy monster by winniehell 2017-08-01T21:42:58Z

This is ADORABLE! It had me giggling the whole time... I guess I have one question- When will Wodewick plush dolls be coming out and can I preorder one? I love the sound (especially the music) and the kisses when they get to close! I could see this as an app that goes viral very catchy, easy to pick up, and I constantly wanted to up my score!

The Crown Prince by Baby Dino Herd 2017-08-01T16:21:12Z

It took me a little bit to understand what was going on, but when I did IT WAS FUN! Interesting game play kinda like a Math Munchers "solve this quick." Cool stuff would love to see you expand on this idea and add some different layers (jewels that make the gold seem 2X more, chance to flatter lowering bribe costs). Cool Stuff!

Ah! I tried the link https://kinrax.itch.io/0300-am and it 404ed! The thumb nail grabbed my attention. Can you please fix it :(

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T14:52:07Z

I think you nailed the retro feel. The lighting and models and just about everything really setup a dark ominous mood for the game. I did have trouble on the first jump and spent some time trying to dash the door down :joy: but don't worry I got it! Nice submission!

The Reign Abates by James Greenleaf 2017-08-01T21:38:27Z

This is the first full screen web game I've seen the whole day which was actually very refreshing! It had me contemplating every choice! One thing that I kind of a liked and disliked at the same time was that most actions didn't tell you how much gold you would be spending. On the one hand I couldn't min/max on the other hand it made me care more about the action and less about how much gold I was spending. I would love to see this made into a table top card game played with a few friends! Great job!

Toast Up! by gwinnell 2017-08-03T13:58:09Z

Very well rounded! I am super impressed you were able to get all of this done on the compo timeline! Loved the smiles on the toast and the game play was easy enough for me to pick up on the first game play, but had me wanting to get all the upgrades :sunglasses:

Lifeforce Deathrun by GanbareGamesKyle 2017-08-03T14:28:10Z

The "Awwww Yeah" at the end :joy:... got me so good! Simple game play but fun and addictive! Great job!

Watervapor by Fragfire 2017-08-02T14:44:09Z

I loved the faces on the atoms reminded me of some of the South Park facial animations! It was fun I think I made it all the way to 84 on my second try!

AI Overlord Runaway by Agecaf 2017-08-02T14:26:49Z

That music sounded like it was taken out of a retro JRPG and I loved it! The aesthetic was very visually appealing and I feel like you did a wonderful job stitching all the models together. I think the game play was pretty easy to pick up on, however challenging and fun. Great job! I've actually saved the link so I can come back to it and play it again!

Soul Gun by EX3 2017-08-03T14:22:40Z

It was very difficult... But I would say that is a plus! I found myself very invested to making it further and when I was finally able to do that I felt very rewarded! I did like how the eye drained as soul was depleted, but that was a little hard to notice I suggest in the future adding some more indication to the soul drain. Either way I was very happy to play this challenging game and had some real fun trying to make it past my last death :joy: .
