LD46 — Keep it alive

Backyard Monsters by SoKette 2020-04-20T17:23:54Z

Incredible art and music, absolutely the best I've seen so far this competition. Unfortunately the gameplay is not very engaging and games can occasionally be won with no user input whatsoever. It would be more interesting if your "monster" had a disadvantage or if you had more options to engage with the game.

Little Sunshine by Bloham 2020-04-20T19:21:14Z

What a delightful game! Makes me happy seeing a smile on that flower's face

The first game I played had the flower die due to too much sun, even though the flower was asking for sun. Maybe I clicked the button too much? Probably. Either way some more indication that what I'm doing is helping would be nice

A Night In The Dark by lectvs 2020-04-20T11:13:36Z

Really incredible graphics. Interesting concept and nicely fleshed out. Took me a couple tries to beat the game and find a satisfying ending

SOS STARSHIP F1 by Tim Eriksen 2020-04-20T16:12:20Z

I did not make it home, but I did have a good time.

After a few attempts I never found I had much of a problem with oxygen management but getting enough scrap to keep your ship going after the difficult jumpdrive sections was a big hurdle. Good game. If you were to develop further I would consider re-balancing supplies so either oxygen drains faster (or is harder to obtain) and make the scrap collected go further to repairing your ship.

The Tranquility by tgb20 2020-04-20T14:40:32Z

Played on a GBA via an Everdrive. Simple fetch quest type game enjoyable enough for what it is. Some more jokes in the text would go a long way to making this game more fun

BBYS by Lambdanaut 2020-04-20T11:39:17Z

Cool aesthetics and interesting but rather difficult gameplay. I've still got the song stuck in my head as I write this comment.

Don't let your bbys get trapped between two monsters - it won't end well.

Livewire Lifesaver by Patrickode 2020-04-20T17:50:09Z

Great concept, if full fleshed out this could be a great puzzle/platformer game. The look left/right sensitivity is way too low to be of much use but otherwise I have no complaints, I only wish there were more levels

Wasmball by itsarjunsinh 2020-04-20T14:50:47Z

Simple concept, easily accessibly. This is the sort of game I could see my mum play on her phone

You Can't Die! by Nirose 2020-04-20T13:03:58Z

The inverted controls are very frustrating to get used to and getting stuck on the ground is difficult to recover from but otherwise this is a very fun arcade-style game. Great art style and audio.

Curie by DLC Scar 2020-04-20T13:14:24Z

Simple but effective arcade shooter. Took me a couple games to realise I needed to release radiation but I think that's my fault for not paying attention to the big glowing DANGER sign. Lack of variety in enemies makes gameplay become repetetive quickly but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it.

Very impressive for your first game - keep it up!

Curie by DLC Scar 2020-04-20T14:12:09Z

@dlc-scar well my first idea was just a big atom that spews protons out in multiple directions. You could also make enemies that emit different types of projectile based on the 3 types of radiation

Keep him alive! by Rens Jan 2020-04-22T12:54:17Z

Pro-tip: left click and right click at the same time for fun and points.

Interesting concept but not enough variety in play to keep the game interesting. The AI could also do with some better pathfinding, currently it quite happily wedges itself into corners trying to get to you but understandably that can take a lot of time to work on

Brilliant concept, very creative use of the theme

Keep IT Alive by bjl 2020-04-20T11:23:58Z

Very clever use of the theme. Very engaging game with plenty of replayabilty - this is the sort of game that works great on mobile
