LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Conga Master by BubsyPoochies 2015-12-16T12:46:00

This game is awesome. Enough said.

Bakeneko!!!! by Ariake81 2015-12-15T00:53:00

This game is freakin' cute! <3 Really enjoyed the graphics! The gameplay was rather fun as well :)

Could've used some sound effects though.

A Subtle Dispute by TheSteveIAm 2015-12-15T17:27:00

Wow.. this game is just lovely and a really good twist on rock, paper, scissors! I like how you've managed to make a simple concept very entertaining, which is a good merit to have as a game designer.

It's fun to try to change to whatever element beats your oponents.. and it just makes it fluid to have it as a continous stream rather than in rounds! The special beam was also a nice touch.

The graphics were sweet and the music was fitting. I especially enjoyed your choice in music for the intro screen paired up with the name of the game while the actual game is about two wizards having a hectic magic battle. Makes it quite ironic.

Looking forward to see more stuff from you guys. And if you ever make a game that could use electronic or chiptune music, just send me an email to "taqvistmusic@gmail.com" and we can arrange something.

Rolla Grolla Arena by Xanjos 2015-12-16T01:01:00

Fun idea, and minimalistic. The audio makes me want to hurt people though. Could definitely see this being made into a proper brawler, although the friction probably needs to be reworked for that to work properly. Fun game though, but that audio-loop is just.. sooo.. annoying..

Adrift: A Space Age Roguelite by srakowski 2015-12-15T01:38:00

Suprised to see the controllers work so well. Was actually skeptical at first.

Szczypce by Ret44 2015-12-15T18:19:00

Very cool game. As said, the slow-motion grab is satisfying, but it does get annoying after a while. The sound effects needs to be worked on, but overall a fun game and I will most likely play it again, as these types of games are amongst my favourites.

I like the idea that the weapons kind of stack on top of each other, looks badass once you've gathered enough weapons. Makes your grapple very hard to see though ;)

3/5 humps. Like our team logo, so you win by default!

Yume Starcatcher by alexrus07 2015-12-15T19:48:00

Oooh, gotta love those retro-styled graphics! The gameplay was really fun as well! It's a hard game.. but damn, if you're gonna make a retro-styled game it better be hard to complete! ^^

Bellows by TaylorAnderson 2015-12-15T01:43:00

Wow, really enjoy the look of this game! Also, the music was freakin' sweet :)

The controllers are rather difficult though, but the game itself did become more fun once I got used to it.

Turnips-n-Pigs by Newan 2015-12-14T23:15:00

So, I'll start with the bad. The controllers. It felt weird to have to change between the button for picking up the turnips and feeding the pigs.

But except for that, it's a pretty charming game! The graphics and audio were simplistic but still very soothing. I especially enjoy the oh so beautiful start-up screen you have. I also had a bit of a laugh feeding the pigs fat.

Good job!

Grunnist by Alpenter 2015-12-15T00:03:00

Was fun to play, I enjoyed the retro-styled graphics and sound FXs!

Grow The Hole by Elit3dGaming 2015-12-15T17:36:00

I like the mood of the game. Good choice of music. The sound effect for picking up stuff kind of ruined it though, as it got really tedious to listen to.. Too bad, as it could've been a very soothing game otherwise.

\\God Machines by yhsper 2015-12-16T12:54:00

Very cool game. It's hard though, and mainly because it's a bit bulky to play with arrows on a keyboard. Gamepad would be better. The graphic-style is excellent. Well done.

I vote for multiplayer co-op ;)

Sickle & Sword by MSiddeek 2015-12-15T17:55:00

This was fantastic. I too was sorry when I reached the end after beating that Dragon. I was also a bit confused as to where some of the resources came from but that didn't bother me too much in the end. I will play it again no doubt. In fact, I want a continuation of the game. The story was captivating and the only thing that I really can complain about is the graphics but that's mainly because I am missing some animations, but understand that the focus is not with the graphics nonetheless.

Very well done. Will keep playing for sure.

5 out 5 humps for total awesome.

Avoid and Un-Avoid by Andrew 2015-12-14T23:26:00

I had fun, definetly. An interesting mechanic indeed!
Could've used some music or ambience though, and the graphics were kinda meh. But other than that I liked it.

Nearing Extinction by AlexLamarche 2015-12-15T00:24:00

Ah, the good ol' wave-based shooter game.
As you said, slow at the start. The controllers worked well. The music could use some work though.

To the Tree! by Pan 2015-12-15T00:16:00

It was kinda fun. Was a bit skeptical to the controls at first, but after a while I found it enjoyable (but still in a frustating way).

Kaktus & Friend by Brainfreezeman 2015-12-15T01:53:00

Wow.. it's just as amazing as Taco Wizard 3: The Legend the Taco Wizard! You get 5/5 Dromedary Humps!

Please Mamma by nlbi21 2015-12-14T23:38:00

You made me chuckle a bit. I enjoyed it when the Death Star appeared.

OSHIYA! PUSH! by inbetweengames 2015-12-15T17:59:00

Sweet twist on a rythm game, the theme of it definetly made me chuckle.

I liked the audio and music, even though I would enjoy more music tracks! But.. it's understandable as you've made it in such a short time.

The graphics was really charming and fitted the game perfectly!

Thunder On by Lia-Sae 2015-12-18T15:07:00

I like the idea, but I agree, it was hard to understand if the white was clouds or just background. It's too easy, and the animation tween between choosing and moving needs to be longer because it takes too much time; it gets annoying pretty fast.

I do like the idea though. Nice and simple, but no real challenge really.

It really Hz by An_error 2015-12-15T18:09:00

Yes. It does really hurt. i was a bit disappointed because the description talked about oscilloscopes and the name is hz in it so naturally I assumed there would be some sort of dinamic audio involved where you use frequencies to solves puzzles or whatnots. Instead I got this, and was pleasantly surprised for about 0.5 seconds; the time it took before the first obstacle moved from it's initial frame on the screen until it hit me.

These games are fun though, but this might be harder than the impossible game, because that game, hard as it may be, actually give you time to react.

If the frequency was changed faster (I assume the yellow things have something to do with the frequency change-speed maybe?) it could be fun. Now it's just annoyingly hard, imo. Not very original either.

2 out of 5 humps.

The Quest Of The Two Buttons by AlmightyTuna 2015-12-15T00:35:00

Liked how you worked with the theme for the game. Also the description of the game is just lovely <3

DeepHunt:Procedural gen. survival by Saivan 2015-12-16T12:40:00

I uh.. I absorbed some of the small thingies (which I assume you should do based on the instructions in the game) but instead of growing larger I became smaller. the sonar was a nice touch, but overall I just found this game confusing since I didn't really understand what to gather in order to actually grow.

Milky Way Expansion by Quails Hill Studio 2015-12-15T01:32:00

The gameplay was so-so.. But I really enjoyed the overall feeling of the game, with the mix of the graphics and the ambient sound in the background.

Friendly Fire by Osaft 2015-12-15T17:35:00

This was a fun game. Or rather, the mechanics are fun but unfortunately it's way too easy. I understand that you could use two buttons (although I'm not sure how since the how to was very unspecific), but I just used one and won every time.

The wind sound makes me want to hurt people though.
That said, I did have fun playing it when it got a bit tricky. Propagation is always fun in games.

3 out of 5 humps.

Berg in Space by thiagoferraro 2015-12-15T00:10:00

I liked the music. And the graphics were kinda cute. Was a bit confused by the floating astronauts though.. I kinda thought they were obstacles at first.

Astro Cat Saga by Astro Cat 2015-12-15T17:06:00

I think it might've worked better if the input was a bit more responsive, cause it's a pretty fun concept. What I really enjoyed though was the music and the graphics of the game. It makes it feel a lot more polished.

Staten & Kapitalet by Lamebait 2015-12-16T12:35:00

This concept is as brilliant as the graphics. The endgame scenes are great as well. Well done.

Vrach's Lab by VrachLab 2015-12-15T01:11:00

Fun twist on the endless runner, also good job with the graphics!

ReachTheTop by coldman 2015-12-14T23:51:00

When it comes to the music it would be nice if the melodies were more directed, also the sounds themselves didn't fit together all that nicely. Cute graphics though. Probably would've enjoyed it more if I got some better feedback when an enemy is hit, maybe with some sound and visual effect.
