LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deepeth Woods by colapolka 2021-04-27T00:05:26Z

Love the aesthetic in this! Reminds me a bit of the cutscenes in Rock of the ages. The combat feels a bit stiff, since the animation is quite long. The hitboxes of the axe and enemies are also a bit unintuitive, and sometimes when it seems like you it the enemy you actually didnt.

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-04-27T03:46:12Z

Youve somehow turned what would normally be boring as heck into an enjoyable and visually stunning game. I'd love to see a full version of this, with sound and everything. Props!

Going Down by omer1615 2021-04-27T00:21:25Z

Love the intro and concept! In the beginning I was a bit confused as to what I should be doing, I think that could have been conveyed to the player a bit better.

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-27T03:40:40Z

Amazing music, gameplay, art, EVERYTHING!!! Seriously dude, this is quite the game for 48 hours. You managed to combine 2 different genres in a way that I never could have expected. Great job.

Quick Scrap by Vimlark 2021-04-27T03:50:06Z

Amazing game this time! Love the controls and the artstyle. As others have said, the controls feel a bit too responsive at times, but overall it was a great experience to play!

Dive Deep by Dynamix 2021-04-27T00:26:11Z

Definetly a solid entry! The lighting works great for the ambience! One suggestion would be that the second swarm of jellyfish seems quite dense and difficult to maneuver for the 3rd encounter, and some ambient sound could improve the experience. Other than that, good job!

SeaSnap by Cral 2021-04-27T00:13:07Z

Wow. The atmosphere and visuals in this game is astounding to say the least. I felt actually motivated to explore the area, which seems very well made. I ended up wandering off the map I think though, and the screen went completely black.

Deep Dungeon by deeemo 2021-04-27T00:01:20Z

I'm interested to play the rest of the game, but it seems I cannot reach the door of the first room, there is an invisible wall blocking me from it. Just letting you know.

DECAY by NuggetMcHotdog 2021-04-27T00:29:49Z

Thanks for the feedback @sugarsugarsugar @pseudohausen! I definetly agree that a better tutorial could have improved the experience, its an area that I've never seemed to fully achieve in.

Sam Sludge: The case of the dirty runoff by doubleday 2021-04-28T15:56:05Z

Absolutely amazing atmosphere in this! The low res early playstation vibes im getting totally fit the mood that the story is giving. Personally, I think that the walk speed is just low enough for it to be a bit annoying, especially if you find yourself at a dead end and must go all the way back. There were times when I thought a gate was supposed to open, but when I pressed E nothing happened. Overall though, very solid entry.

Stylish Aeroplane Dress 'Em Up by Happy 2021-10-05T01:44:43Z

Love this one!! The concept of rebuilding your ship mid battle is super innovative. My only current critique is that attaching parts to the ship felt a bit weird some times, with pieces not attaching when they should or attaching in the wrong places. Other than that, super solid entry!

Breaking Even by NuggetMcHotdog 2021-10-05T15:52:01Z

Thanks @westmave! Yes, it’s procedurally generated, and the levels get harder over time.

collapsing ecosystem survival by wordbug 2021-10-04T06:25:58Z

Overall this was a really solid entry! The concept of an entirely different ecosystem and map is a super cool idea, and I think you executed it quite well. I have a few suggestions: Firstly, I think that the scale of the map is large enough that the details are quite hard to see, because of how tiny everything is. I think a smaller map would solve this. Another small thing is that it took me a while to find the player when the game starts, as they are very small and start at a random position. Starting at the same place every time would prevent this from happening.
