This game is awesome!! How did you come up with this idea in 5 hours?? I'm so impressed with human talent man...
I think the only issue is that I found the strategy I had was just to do trial and error, but I'm wondering if there is a way to make it more puzzle based.
No way you made this in 12 hours! That's awesome. I love the crispness of everything. It's so good. I did find it hard to get cards that made a hand other than pair though.
wow such a polished entry for something made in 48 hours that's so awesome! The landscape is the most impressive thing for me.
This is insanely good for a compo entry. How even?? The visuals and mood go a long way, and you could totally do something with it.
This game has so much potential and I have some notes on how I really think you could improve the user experience because seriously I can see this being a killer platformer. I think the movement at the moment feels way too floaty, and the lack of sensitive movement (especially when just moving left to right, there is a lot of drag) makes precise movements feel sluggish. I think that was what mainly made me frustrated at certain levels (even though I seriously adore this game and the concept), because I just didn't get the user input that I wanted since it was so floaty. I also think that it would really be helpful to have an indicator which shows the range of how far your tentacle will reach, so you have an idea about what nodes you are in range of. I also think it'd be nice to have some way of salvaging your progress even if you are stuck at a single node because swinging back and forth doesn't really preserve that much momentum, so it feels really sad when you're just stuck at a node and have no choice but to restart. This is one of my favorite games I tried this jam and has a ton of potential.
SO ADDICTING. Something in our human nature to just collect stuff. It's why cookie clicker got so successful. Fun game! I wonder how you can further expand on the concept. I found my method for optimizing became just going to the sheep because it was closest to me.
Really cool stuff, so impressive that you did this in 72 hours man!
solid entry! I wish there was some instructions because I couldn't figure out if I wanted to just survive or if the goal was to collect all the letters
This is so cute and creative!!! You somehow took this simple idea and made it so fun and enjoyable, and you do it all in an art style that I could look at all day. I envy the art skills greatly. Good job!!!
ps: this is my first game jam, but I worked with someone who's been game jams for a while now and back in the day you commented on one of his previous entries. Ever since then you've been considered his GOAT and it would be so funny if I could surprise him with news that you commented on our entry this jam
Wow. This might be my favorite game from the jam. Only feedback is I wish I could see my deck when choosing the shop.
I love the art and I love the theme you incorporated. I used to collect cards too when I was young. I used to play a lot of Duel Masters, and back then it was the hottest card game. I think very fondly back on those times, but now that the game is considered outdated, I'll never relive those moments. A very bittersweet relationship indeed. Thank you for sharing your childhood with us :)
Idea is so great! I really like the concept of building this overwhelming ship that can't be stopped. I did wish there was more control over placement of the weapons as well as more control of the firing (or maybe even make the bullets tracking). But great concept man! You should be proud :)
Art is amazing, and I love the soundtrack. It has a really wistful, longing vibe to the game. It was a little frustrating having to go through the loading everytime I was punched by the guy haha
I also glitched through the boundaries a few times and had to restart. Good stuff!
@maytch thank you so much for the feedback! I was a little scared it would be too hard. Balancing is really difficult when you're the creator of the level
@koolruz Wow!! Can I just say thank you for the super detailed feedback, all of it is amazing and I really appreciate the clear constructive feedback. This is my first game jam ever and my programming friend did all the heavy lifting with bringing the vision to life. I think you've hit the nail on what a lot of people have been saying about the timer system, and now that you mentioned having a shot limit instead, I'm bashing my head for not having thought of that!! When we initially brainstormed the game, we wrote down that we wanted the player to feel emotions of frantic and greed, and I thought a timer would emphasize this. But I think it ultimately clashed a bit with what most people find enjoyable about the game, which is the satisfying bounce mechanic.
I totally 100% agree with you on the shot limit, and if we do decide to continue developing the game, we'll definitely look into testing that mechanic out. Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to write down your thoughts!! We appreciate it so much :smile_cat:
@euler-moises @kuggenhoffen Thank you so much for the kind words! Appreciate it a lot.
what a unique entry. amazing!
Super cool and polished game man! I think there's so much you can expand on here, in terms of variety of enemies and making collecting the red cards have some incentive (risk vs reward factor). Super cool to have a game where you are building it as you go. Good job.
yo this is hella creative and lowkey addicting! Balancing is quite off but this is fun haha
This is a lovely game! The art style is such a standout and the vibes are so great. The only feedback I have is that some of the colors are really similar so I got tripped up a bit with yellow and beige.
Wall E!
super interesting concept that is so unique! I think whilst the idea is really interesting, I feel what ends up happening is I'm so focused on just dumping stuff on the table that I never really paid attention to the battles. This is something that could definitely be expanded on.
This is such a sick concept! So creative, and the art is stunning. I also chuckled at the wishes. A few too many papers/conditions come out and it felt a little less like a puzzle and more like a task list. But amazing still!
I love the art! I do wish the controls were a little bit more sensitive (especially the jump) and it was a little difficult using the umbrella when it was at the s position. But great work yall!!!
