LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Curse of the Brew by Ilseroth 2017-12-05T20:29:57Z

Nice game with a novel idea. The controls are responsive but after a floor or 2 I found myself just running past enemies since there wasn't much reason to keep fighting them. A HUD element to show what debuff you get and some reward for killing enemies would help the game a long way. It's very promising though, could be turned into something great!

Whatever Floats Your Boat by testudor 2017-12-05T19:30:49Z

Surprisingly fun for such a simple game. The idea is great and the gameplay is satisfying, I just wish there was more variety and something to give the player a feeling of progression, like a score meter.

Crimson Recon by TobiasNL 2017-12-05T19:53:30Z

A bit too difficult for me, but the deep atmosphere is enchanting and the presentation on all fronts is perfect. I do find it somewhat annoying that there was no way (or at least I found no way) to absorb bullets from behind the plane, especially when the bat-like creatures that attack from behind started appearing. Regardless, fantastic stuff overall.

Squire! Where's My Sword?! by Magnega 2017-12-06T21:32:25Z

@jamioflan The ending screen tells you how much gold you've collected, meaning whatever gold the boss drops + whatever you have in your inventory and also includes a quote from Sir Münchhausen about the amount of gold you may or may not have gathered.

Squire! Where's My Sword?! by Magnega 2017-12-08T06:06:04Z

@skyward The inventory is just for holding items, when you want him to use one you have to drag that item onto the character himself

Box Overboard! by Durrsly 2017-12-06T22:05:28Z

Very strong presentation, the gameplay is minimal but polished well and feels good.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

The Devil's Grind by Hakita 2018-12-04T12:05:30Z

@thevinter Some villagers will give you 2 points at the cost of taking away one of your other ones. Their description should give you hints to what they will give you, such as health issues taking away a point of your health. Some of them are hard to figure out on purpose, but ideally you should be able to get the hang of it after a couple attempts.

@xorboo The angels do have slight biases, such as being more likely to use attacks with higher stats and attempting to counter you if you use a single attack multiple times in a row, but if we had had more time I would've definitely liked to make their behaviour more complex!

Var'alith by Akuirako 2018-12-05T14:00:08Z

Very good idea, audio and graphics. Unfortunately I wasn't able to beat it since I kept running into bugs and I got too frustrated after the 10th or so time it happened. Outside of the bugs, it's a good puzzle game that got me interested enough to attempt 10 tries.

Kamikaze Kevin by Bit 2018-12-05T13:47:16Z

Simple but nice. The shooting sound got irritating after a while and I wish there was more of an indication when you're hitting a bunny, but the basics work nicely.

I MUST BELONG by Tolga 2018-12-05T14:16:40Z

I like the idea and the mood and music are fantastic, but I wish there was more going on with the gameplay or story, since most of the game is spent holding D while tapping space. The choices in-between were interesting but maybe some dialogue or events during the walking could've helped.

PuzCol (Solo) by harshyyness 2018-12-05T13:43:22Z

It's a good start, the graphics are simple but very pleasing to the eye, the ground movement feels very snappy and good, though as mentioned by other people already, the jumping was unresponsive and losing all momentum when touching the ceiling was mildly annoying.

Running through the underworld! by sadzanenyama 2018-12-05T14:44:03Z

Cool stuff, the platform making gun felt very intuitive to use and the shooting felt nice.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

The Roads Away by harark 2018-04-24T13:27:00Z

Very interesting idea and fun gameplay. An odd combo that works surprisingly very well. Could've used a bit more sounds though.

Shoot 'em Up & Slap 'em Down by Justin 2018-04-24T13:44:11Z

Fun idea, could definitely be explored further to make a great game.

Nuclear Fission by mattpattie2 2018-04-24T13:49:37Z

Pretty funny idea and solid execution.

Run N' Cook by LeonLaci 2018-04-24T15:36:24Z

Fun idea but the gameplay could've used some work. Most of the gametime is spent waiting for meters to fill up while clicking on the right side of the screen to keep shooting potatoes. Having to move around and dodge things while waiting could've helped a lot.

Lorik the Slime! by Kumaka 2018-04-24T15:10:46Z

A cute idea, the multiple game modes were a nice bonus. The platforming itself was frustrating though, especially since touching the collectibles stopped your momentum. Cute graphics though.

Zip Zap by Brad Slayter 2018-04-24T13:37:43Z

Very fun idea and good execution. Sadly too easy once you figure out what route the AI takes, but if this was multiplayer I could see this being a fantastic party game!

Exilium by JammedGame 2018-04-24T15:05:16Z

Fantastic graphics and atmosphere. The idea is very fun as well, but I had a hard time playing the game. The ghosts didn't seem to make any sound before they appeared so I rarely had time to react before they caught me.

Evil Bunnies by Team Luminous 2018-04-24T15:47:27Z

Fun idea though the gameplay was somewhat janky. With enough time this could be a very fun game.

Dainty Deprivation by NickMarcha 2018-04-24T14:57:55Z

Fun idea and solid execution. The car was fun to control though I had a hard time figure out the drifting, defintitely could've used some more variety or challenge to keep it fresh.

the World Deck by Victrola Sage 2018-04-24T14:36:45Z

The idea is fun but the controls are very frustrating, which caused me to have a very hard time platforming.

Stealth Labyrinth by ZoeAgxn 2018-04-24T15:22:07Z

Very fun strategic approach to stealth. Having to start all the way over from the beginning from a single failure felt a bit too punishing, though. The gameplay itself is pretty well balanced and having to think and improvize was a lot of fun! The dynamic music was a nice idea but very repetitive since it only seemed to change when you were seen or beat a level... Maybe changing it when the player gets a key or opens the exit would help?
