LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Puttsy by morrilet 2018-04-25T23:49:28Z

Although I find the combination interesting, I felt the execution of the game lost some of the randomnesses of golf and the towers felt out of place. I just can't shake the feeling that the genres would have combined better if the game was not grid-based, you could place towers on the green areas and get a challenge from moving obstacles.

Overall I love the polish of the game, with the art, music and puzzle design.

Yum Some!! by frostByte4k 2018-04-28T13:08:20Z

I like how smooth it switched between the minigames, and they had a good variety. Well done Ludum dare.

Soccer Battle Royale by ditzel 2018-04-28T13:36:57Z

Amazing combination, impressed with the AI.

Dancemazing by MariosManiatis 2018-04-28T13:22:42Z

Haha, loved the way the mood completely turned when you met an enemy.

Everything was amazing and you did an awesome job at the puzzle design.

Really interesting idea and nice execution.

Tour de Arizona by honey 2018-04-28T12:45:04Z

Had the same experience as @Carvster , had to mash both of the buttons at the same time, think this game would really benefit from an online leaderboard currently.

@fenwick We have our music composer @kryxzael to thank for that, would recommend anyone who has the opportunity to work with sound and music people, it adds so much to the feel of the game.

@Beelzeboss Haha, one of our 3d artists wanted to make cute stuff and the other wanted to make a Mad Max-inspired car, it was quite interesting to see the contrast under development when they were working right next to each other 😁

@Sun Parlor Studios Thanks for the praise and constructive criticism, if we were to continue working on the game, adding some form of challenge would definitely be the next step.

@urban-logic-games Having you feel bad for killing them was definitely one of our goals, we have had a variety of responses though, someone even suggested total dismemberment with a combo feature 😅

@Hakita Variety and challenge would be the next goal if we decided to continue on the project 🙂

@morrilet Yeah, it was my first time working with the semi-documented wheel colliders, and playing with the car too much myself has probably made me biased towards the results. Even though the car handling becomes predictable after some usage, it should definitely be more intuitive easier to grasp. Nice to hear you enjoyed the rest of it though, it surely was a blast to produce.

@Tay First time I touched both racing and wheel-colliders, learned a lot in the process and encountered a few engine-bugs. Had a great time working with such a complete team who could add both visual art, sound and music to the game 😃
