Nice touch with the two songs being different arrangements of the same thing
What did those things with antlers do to you
The game looks good graphics wise and feels well done with the controls (sometimes drifting feels a bit iffy, but alas)
My biggest concern is that there is no real challenge in the game, as it's more just a grind to get to level 25 (which kind of emphasizes the RPG element I guess ;) )
With some challenge in here this could've been even better! Good job overall (:
I like the art style and the car controlled pretty well once I got used to it. The music switching between cute/heavy arrangements of the same track is a really nice touch. I do wish you hadn't made the 'enemies' look so damn adorable though, I just felt awful and couldn't play for long! :P
Fun idea and solid execution. The car was fun to control though I had a hard time figure out the drifting, defintitely could've used some more variety or challenge to keep it fresh.
@fenwick We have our music composer @kryxzael to thank for that, would recommend anyone who has the opportunity to work with sound and music people, it adds so much to the feel of the game.
@Beelzeboss Haha, one of our 3d artists wanted to make cute stuff and the other wanted to make a Mad Max-inspired car, it was quite interesting to see the contrast under development when they were working right next to each other 😁
@Sun Parlor Studios Thanks for the praise and constructive criticism, if we were to continue working on the game, adding some form of challenge would definitely be the next step.
@urban-logic-games Having you feel bad for killing them was definitely one of our goals, we have had a variety of responses though, someone even suggested total dismemberment with a combo feature 😅
@Hakita Variety and challenge would be the next goal if we decided to continue on the project 🙂
I really enjoyed the art and audio, but I felt that the car was hard to handle. It felt a little unresponsive and because of that I found that the best strategy was to slowly roll through groups of creatures. I would've liked to have plowed through them at a higher speed, but I never hit seem to hit anything that way. I did really like that you could change your cars colors, though. That was a nice touch. Overall this was a good game. Nice work!
@morrilet Yeah, it was my first time working with the semi-documented wheel colliders, and playing with the car too much myself has probably made me biased towards the results. Even though the car handling becomes predictable after some usage, it should definitely be more intuitive easier to grasp. Nice to hear you enjoyed the rest of it though, it surely was a blast to produce.
I don't know if you're used to make racing games, but the controls felt really good. The models were nice and the music just complemented the game so well. Really good entry :)
Fun and good looking game, but gets pretty boring pretty soon (which is not a problem LD games are meant to be played for a little while :D)
@Fenderbate Yeah there is not really a challenge and it would be a lot better with more content. We just wanted to make a few things really well instead of a lot of half done stuff.
@Tay First time I touched both racing and wheel-colliders, learned a lot in the process and encountered a few engine-bugs. Had a great time working with such a complete team who could add both visual art, sound and music to the game 😃
Honestly, one day I decided to play some LD games with my gf, and it so happened we stubled upon this game. This is mental.. we had to go through the map and carnage innocent inhabitant. And they were pretty cute, much like ewoks.
The graphics of the game is great, it looks pleasing nad very smooth. Music idea of changing the track depending on the situation is good.
The game would not refuse getting a little challenge for the player (eg, you have to collect N units within a given time to level up, ewoks attack you car, you name it).
Also I think allowing to change the car color is interesting, but the color pallet it too big. It would have been better to let players choose from a set number of options, since too many possibilities is a liability.
Thank you for the game!
Absolutely fantastic visuals - I love the kind of Seuss-ian vibe of the trees, and the forest creatures are charmingly whimsical too (though that didn't stop them from getting stuck in my car's bumper). I didn't get much of an RPG feel from it - maybe they could have started bits of NPC dialog as you hit them? "Howdy, traveler, I -" "You must help us -" "I need -"...
Regardless, it's fun and the whole thing is really well polished; nice work!
Graphics are very impressive, controls work really well. Quite a fun driving game, would be quite an interesting title if you took it further!
"So I'm supposed to drive or... Oh, what are these cute little creatures? What am I supposed to do... oh no, why would you do that? Why would anyone do that? They're too cute and too young! They don't deserve it!"
Nice work, great artstyle, cute little fellas!
Wow, you really feel bad about those cute little suckers. Their death screeches are especially hard to digest :(
Visual and audio design are great! And Color customisation is a nice touch :)
Cool game, have a fish <3 🐟
Hahahaha Really entertaining, very neat graphics and ambience. It's a good way to channel the anger :P are you thinking about continuing with the project, it is very promising!
