YAYYY IT IS FINALLY HERE so proud of you
@ira-baciu Thanks! Hope you would love it! If you'll encounter a bug where light is too hard - just restart game pls. I'll update description on this topic soon...
Amazing game, you did a good job)
@ulziton Thanks a lot! Saw your game in the feed and added yours to the watchlist, even before you wrote a comment :) Would give it a try too(after some sleep)...
Very fun to run around in. W easter egg <3 Congrats guys
@gavincummins Yeah! My man is true gamer and checked behind the waterfall <3
The fun is 5/5, it was so cool to see how you were doing this game
@ira-baciu Thanks!
Friendly reminder: don't forget to upload your game on itch.io(there are no link there now). Looking towards your game release!
@captaincorgistan hehe there is now
The game felt like a fever dream. The gnomes have funny looks, but I couldn't find the right one. The light was blinding, but overall, I enjoyed the game. Good job!
Even my 4060 can't handle it
@basic-eagles Hmm... Strange to hear that cause me myself running smoothly on 3070TI. Maybe wait a bit from the start of the game while stuff will load, or restart..
so funny! amazing job!!
"kick gnome ass" mechanic solo carried this game for me!
completed 1187 tasks and it was completely worth my time B)
@zazios @braeden Thanks! Glad you liked it!
@zazios we suspected that some gnomes could be hard to find, so we left debug on. Press "L" and look in the skies ;)
@yeah-she-k we'll develop this mechanic more in the DLC. Promise :)
Did you actually opt out of the Graphics category??
This is quite a fun game! I love having to identify the right gnome through every small detail, which also makes each gnome feel so unique. The items around the game that help in the search are a great idea, as are the personality traits. However, I feel like there should be less traversal across the map and more focus on comparing the picture with the gnome, since the comparison is monumentally more fun. I found myself walking a lot while searching for a gnome sometimes. Another critique I have is that the game feels a bit insensitive toward vegans and deaf people. The term "Saint Salad," the thunder dialogue about the deaf gnome, and the way the game incentivizes using the whistle to find the deaf gnome made me feel a bit uncomfortable. However, everything else is on point. Good job!
@timo5034 yeap. We created environment from the market assets so we opt out graphics. But Level art we created on our own. It's sad, cause gnomes, and scroll are our own, and created in this three days. Do you think it's a mistake to opt out?
@she-wrote Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the game!
I'm sorry that you feel uncomfortable. I can assure you that hurting someone feelings or mocking was not my point at all. That was a try to be funny while not being English native speaker, I apologize for that.
Ooh I see, that's the reason. I mean in this case it's correct to opt out. Just know that it looks incredible, especially considering the timeframe you created this in! :D
Yea, this is a certified banger! Awesome visuals and really fun gameplay. Thanks for the laughs
This is actually insane for a jam game, I found it kinda hard to find the correct guys but ig thats a part of the loop. Overall pretty great
Gorgeous and hilarious! I haven't been able to find the first gnome quite yet (I'll keep looking) but I HAVE been able to enjoy the atmosphere and the occasional gnome kick 😂 Great work!!
I give up, I only fond one, take my rating
This is truly incredibly creative, and the visuals are fantastic. With so many little characters moving around and each looking different, it's just a bit tricky for me to spot them.
It's a pity there is no web version
Wow! It’s amazing!)
A fun game, I imagine it was very entertaining to develop it
@kitty-666 @moonblast @jver422 @wormkingboo @arianaraine @maximevincent Thanks guys! Glad you laughed at least a little bit and enjoyed a game!
@py-g <3 Would be pleased to see you on my team in spring!
The first five minutes were fun. Then I realized I couldn't find the gnome I needed. I wanted to turn it off, but then I decided to restart it. I restarted it, and miraculously, I found the first gnome. Finding the second gnome was also difficult. But when I realized I could kick gnomes for free, things got a little more fun. I found the second gnome. It was time for the third. At that point, I gave up. They're impossible to find. The graphics are nice, the atmosphere is great, but I'd like some hints. For example, if the game were more playable, it would throw the right gnome at the player after a couple of minutes.
@kit-gorn Thanks for the feedback! Sounds super valid, we thought about some extra tips, but didn't have time to implement them(write current location, for example "Windmill" on a scroll, or item that would last some time but give some sound clues of the direction and the proximity of a gnome)...
But in the end we left debug on. Press "L" and look in the skies, you'll understand where little guy is)
This game is really cool, I enjoyed playing it for a bit looking around for these gnoms that looks almost like the same. It was surely a lot of work, good job!
Really loved the atmosphere in this. Fantastic work having all the different gnome variations, its incredible how you have so many combinations. I did find the game somewhat frustrating after a while, i wish that there was more of a general indication of where they might be. I found myself just wondering around for ages looking for one gnome constantly re-visiting locations to double check I didn't miss them. Maybe a secondary gameplay could have been a way to give more clues to their location. Overall a good take on the theme.
Look, I'm going to be honest here with you. I spent **FAR MORE TIME** kicking random gnomes around their cozy village than I did doing what I was hired for. I even tried to make some kind of sport out of it. Only after about half an hour of gnome ball did I decide to go collect some money. I shook down the wrong gnome five times in a row and got fired. Sadly.
But that's okay, because I will just come back for some relaxing gnome ball!
@klausklapper For that purpose I kindly placed two gates from both sides of a market :) Feel free to use them as a goal posts hehe
I loved it! it's really fun to play and it's working great. Amazing job ;)
Wow, this is so good! You've done a massive job. The location is awesome, and the atmosphere is top-notch. It's just fun to play, and the graphics are cool too! A couple of small things: it lags a bit sometimes, probably from too many objects on screen. I also found it pretty tough to locate the right gnome. Would be cool if there were some abilities to help with the search, like a hint system or something, especially since the area is big But really, it's very cool, you guys are awesome!
@pcho Saw your game for the LD57, I see you're a man of gnomes culture)) Thanks for the feedback! Super valid!
Overall, my experience was fun! Gnomes are fun to interact with. Sometimes finding to right gnome is a bit difficult but not overwhelming. Good game!
Looks like a fun game, but incredibly laggy for me and not even the gnome sprite on the paper loaded in, hope for some lower quality version to be able to play it
Great game! It ran fine for me, and the challenge was great, the eyebrows got me a couple times. What a space though and the design and layout made for some good playing. Nicely done!
@hugohil @yarkin @wetburritosupreme Thanks guys! Glad you had a good time!
@thatfirey We'll see what we can do, for now we've got some more builds in mind(like different platforms and settings)
Wow, one of my favorite game of this jam! It's super impressive how there's so much variety in the gnome designs while being able to distinguish them from each other. I also loved that you need to kick the gnomes for items that you use to see the suspects reaction. There's so many great ideas in this jam game! I really want to keep playing this game and hope that you continue developing it. Amazing job!
The best game I've ever played!!! Despite the poor optimization, the gnomes will save this world <3
Its soo much fun rlly liked gnomes they are so cute even with knifes! And the shaking part is silly, love it.<3
I wanna try it out soooo bad but always failing download it. Been tried several times. :crying_cat_face: It looks like a fun game. Wish there was a web version or some!!
Haha, this is so much fun! I really like both the idea and the execution. Special thanks for the cheats — they’re really appropriate when you want to explore the game more. Though would be great to disable Lumen (I guess it is enabled) because 30 fps is sad (I use stone age gtx 1060, but still).
@tommeh @jambread @skale Thanks guys! Glad you liked our game!
@nosleepvv We're planning to upload low spec build as well in the nearest future!
@ave2brave there was s problem with a download in first couple hours after submission, but now it should be fine, checked right now by myself.
@skale your welcome! If even can be interesting and playable, if use it for a second in the start of the mission to get a basic direction to the target
Tax collector was one of my initial brainstorms, love that somebody ended up doing one. The lighting is blindingly harsh. I didn't mind it much for the first mission, but it kept just shining straight into my eyes the whole game. Would have been interesting if it got later in the day as you completed each mission. Tuning the sun back by half and adding in a global light to soften the shadows would do wonders for game feel. Also, a stone instead of a locked gate was definitely a choice. The credits cave with the cat shrine was a nice touch. Would have been interesting if the gnomes fought back, could even just be throwing whatever item they're holding at you. The last mission was particularly tricky since he kept running away when I entered an area. Cheeky little twist. I harassed far too many innocent gnomes and did not do well. Still had a great time.
Grabbing and shaking gnomes was really fun :D Loved the artstyle of the little guys. Had a real good time with this one. Great job!
@bobap Seems like you encountered a bug with a lighting, we tried to fix it several times((( Doesn't restart of the game help with it tho?
He he, man I like Rocks can't lie :) Tried to do some comic relieves here and there, mostly with rocks))
It's so cool you progressed to the last mission! A twist there is that those gnome scared of you too much but wants meat even more)))
@gamesplusjames Thanks! Kudos to @furypn for them!
What a masterpiece!!! The gnomes are sooo cute, the village is beautiful, and overall it's just such a fun and chilled game! I wish there were more hints on how to find the right gnome, I couldn't do it without the cheatcode...
@basic-eagles @pcho @skale @thatfirey We uploaded a second build with graphics settings, feel free to check it out! We tested it on GTX1650 and had a smooth experience.
(I marked our previous build with description 72h entry, so everyone know, that those setting was not in the original submissions. Maybe I'm too cautious with this, but I want everything to be straight and fair).
FINDING GNOMIE! It's so charming and polished, I would WANT to play a more pully version of it! The noisy small gnome town is so peaceful and cute ^^
very fun game, admittedly a little too hard as I got stuck on the third task and couldn't find the gnome who likes to brawl and loves daggers. Absolutely hilarious concept though and well executed. It does try to melt my GPU a bit, but the graphic settings help a lot
@alva-peng @b0guslaw Thanks guys!
@b0guslaw try kicking other gnomes all around you, and he's come to you by himself)) OR take a knife in a hands(there are plenty of them around the level).
So many gnomes, holy cow! I was a bit overwhelmed with just how many were scampering around the map but I had a blast tracking the pesky little debtors down. The items you can hold to scare/attract is a cool idea. Very neat idea, looks great and was well done!
kissy gnomes.png
Now what were _these_ gnomes up to?
When the Smurfs have crossed all boundaries, and you go to collect debts.
I had fun but now I am fully nauseous!
Not necessarily the most unique idea on this theme, but the execution of it absolutely is. For a jam game this is well done but with a big team you can usually get a lot done. Would've loved if this had been a web game instead of unreal engine, but can't have the world at my fingertips.
Very charming with the gnome behavior and world design! In the second level it was a little confusing how there was a gap in the gnome's beard ingame, but not on the scroll. But it was enjoyable to just walk around and explore the world even when it took a while to find the right gnome
@sceef @stingdragon @6knowledge @zathnic Thanks for a feedback guys! Glad you enjoyed a game!
what a funny game! Simply exploring the village with all those different gnomes is pure joy! The graphics are awesome and the whole tone of the game as well. Thank you!
I guess my last little guy fell through the scene geometry because I scoured the map for him, and when I finally found gave up and pressed debug, he seemed to be *INSIDE* the cliff face near the blue area.
@kallico daaamn, I encountered this bug couple times myself, and made couple of fixes including geometry and navmesh, and at this point I'm simply don't now why they keep doing it(((
Let's just admit that whatever he's doing - it's quite effective in terms of "not paying debts"
The 3D visuals and atmosphere are really well done — especially impressive considering it’s a jam project. The overall polish feels above jam level.
That said, I personally get a bit dizzy with 3D camera movement, so I couldn’t play for too long .
Overall, fantastic work! You clearly put a lot of effort into making this look and feel great.
