Funny game. Reminded me Super meat boy) Great count of level!

javid-ladhani 2023-10-03 12:32

Great job! Had tons of fun. One of the last levels starting with a walljump with spikes was really hard but I managed!

mael-rios 2023-10-03 12:37

This is a very fun game, I liked the puzzles and the levels, it was a bit hard at the end with the hitbox of the spikes but it is satisfying to win in the end XD good job! this is awesome

jean-verissimo 2023-10-03 13:05

Fun game, I had a little difficulty in the last stages but I really enjoyed it

ismael-rodriguez 2023-10-04 00:05

Cute meat boy type of game. I appreciate the quick reloads and snappy levels.

toohard.png

I gave up on this stage, the wall jumps are a little too tight and the hitboxes are quite punishing.

Visuals are cute, and I like the squishy character. Good job overall!

bluedandelion 2023-10-04 05:42

@ismael-rodriguez Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't beat that level, I added that section with the intent of adding some challenge to the game, but unfortunately it seems that it might be a little bit to hard for some people. I will know next time to make easier levels.

bluedandelion 2023-10-04 05:57

I'm should add a gif that acts as a tutorial for that level, that might help

telo-philippe 2023-10-04 18:47

Very fun game! I loved playing it, it reminded me a bit of super meat boy. The graphics were cute and the sound very cool!

egormnc 2023-10-05 19:56

interesting game and its concept

samboyer276 2023-10-05 21:10

really enjoyed trying this one out! I'm very bad at precision platformers and so didn't get very far, but I thought the character was very satisfying to control, especially the wall jumps! I think the hitboxes for the spikes and spinning obstacles were maybe a bit too large, as I seemed to be dying even without hitting them, but maybe that's just my imagination. Another tiny graphics improvement could be some kind of visual/audio feedback when air-dashing? but all considered a very nice game:)

jkazuk 2023-10-06 02:25

Fun little platformer!

xcarl 2023-10-06 04:14

Fun game. Reducing the size of the hitboxes of the spikes would be nice. Graphics are cool. Good job!

bluedandelion 2023-10-06 10:25

@samboyer276 I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm sorry to hear you couldn't finish it, do you remember at what level exactly you got stuck at? The hitboxes are all boxes so they don't fully represent the sprites. Also I did want to add visual/audio feedback when air-dashing but completely forgot... Also you were able to hear the music right?

bluedandelion 2023-10-06 10:28

@xcarl Yeah the hitboxes are all boxes so they don’t fully represent the sprites unfortunately, nevertheless I'm glad you liked the game and I hope you were able to finish it!

steiner2001 2023-10-06 12:34

This game offers stunning graphics and immersive sound design, creating a visually and aurally captivating experience. However, it suffers from a frustrating issue where the edge of the screen isn't always visible, leading to occasional disorientation. Additionally, the hitboxes can be surprisingly big, which can be a source of frustration. Despite these drawbacks, it still manages to deliver an overall really enjoyable gaming experience.

bluedandelion 2023-10-06 13:14

@steiner2001 thank you for your feedback! to fix the issue where the edge of the screen isn't visible, you have to play the game at fullscreen I don't know why this happens with itch.io, and unfortunately I can't find any solutions on the internet...

Edit: I fixed the screen resolution

cheesepencil 2023-10-06 19:08

Pretty cute! I couldn't beat it, but I love that the player character has a big fluffy hair-do. Played in 4K fullscreen, no issues.

bluedandelion 2023-10-06 19:48

@cheesepencil sorry to hear you couldn't beat it... at what level did you get stuck at?

cheesepencil 2023-10-06 20:05

Maybe the second or third level after the timed retracting spike traps first appeared I think.

bluedandelion 2023-10-06 20:15

@cheesepencil is it the one with a bunch of spikes leaking from the ceiling?

cheesepencil 2023-10-06 20:39

No, it had a vertical section on the left side of the stage and the exit was at the top right, with a little spinny blade right in front of the door and static spikes on the ceiling

flying-butter-studio 2023-10-07 07:56

Nice entry and well executed. The wall jump is a little bit hard but without to be a real problem. Congrats!

bluedandelion 2023-10-07 10:46

@cheesepencil Screenshot (1168).png you mean this one??

moebius 2023-10-08 11:43

Nice platformer with cute pixel art and infinite respawns. I also wasn't really able to beat that ^ very level. But the game was quite fun nevertheless! Great entry!

bluedandelion 2023-10-08 12:40

@moebius Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't get past that level and thus missed the more interesting features of the gravity inverter and speed boosts, but can you please tell me what exactly in that level made it impossible for you to beat? So that i can keep that in mind in any future level design.

jordantanner 2023-10-08 14:35

Getting strong Celeste vibes on this one, which I love. Great character control, fun level design, great graphics, and the quick death/respawn makes for lots of fast and fearless attempts to complete the level. Super fun entry!

terminalgoat 2023-10-08 15:11

Pretty fun to play and it kind of reminded me of Celeste, plus the difficulty of this game is pretty comparable to Celeste, i can say. Some levels feel impossible since there's a level that has an exit on the top-right corner and two spinning saws and some spikes in front of it. The position of those saws moved a bit to the right over time since i died a lot trying to pass them, so it was impossible for me to pass that level. Anyway, the artwork is super clean and well polished, with smooth animation, love the sfx too. Well done!

mncc8337 2023-10-08 16:04

very challenging game! i love how the timer create a great pressure and its very fun to play. i really love the artwork and the sound effects. the animation is very well done. however i cannot complete the game due to skill issue, im bad at precision platformer lol. overall good job!

bluedandelion 2023-10-08 19:30

@terminalgoat yep... there was a bug where the saws move up and to the right as time goes on... But fortunately it's now fixed

darkmax14 2023-10-08 20:42

Man that was a challenge! Really solid super meatboy/celeste style game, the snappy controls really bring it all together

recher 2023-10-08 21:25

This type of game is too hard for me, but this game is quite well done.

I love the floating hair of the hero, the weird-looking NPCs (we understand they are scientists even if they really look weird) and their depressed dialogues.

I'm not sure, but the mines which move in a round seemed bugged. I saw one of them moving slightly out of its initial paths. It was as if the center of the path circle suddendly changed, while the position of the mine did not change. I tried to reproduce the bug but couldn't do it. Sorry.

A nice and convenient detail: the "periodic" spikes are correctly configured, so that at the start of a level, you do not have to wait for them to disappear. It's really important, because we want to retry as fast as possible just after dying.

I didn't see how the theme is supposed to fit in the game, but that's not a real problem.

danial-jumagaliyev 2023-10-08 22:50

This was a pretty cool celeste-like platformer. Sadly I could not make past this section ;-;

It seems quite impossible to get past it

Screenshot 2023-10-08 184836.png

bluedandelion 2023-10-09 04:40

Thanks for the feedback!

@recher I'm sorry to hear that it was too hard for you, I assume you weren't quite able to beat it.

I had fixed the bug where the mines which move in a circle change paths just before you played. I even checked it myself and it was all fine. I can't figure out what could have happened in your game, are you sure it wasn't just an illusion?

The theme does fit in the game. Each level takes space in a very small area. Basically I gave myself a "limited space" to create each level (that space being the camera FOV).

@danial-jumagaliyev Yeah unfortunately that section is too hard for a lot of people. You have to be fast and precise. I myself have no big issue dealing with it but I guess I'm just more experienced (you can see me beating it in one of the GIFs) Regardless you made it to the second to last level so you got really far. All you really missed was the gravity inverter.

recher 2023-10-09 07:28

@bluedandelion : it's not really a problem that the game is too hard for me. I know I'm not good at these cray platformers. It's a good thing to make these games for all the fans who love them.

It may have been an illusion. I'm absolutely not sure there was a bug. Let's assume that if I'm the only one to mention it, then there is no bug.

moebius 2023-10-09 08:13

@bluedandelion: first I wanted to say the problem why I was not able to finish that level was my dexterity - but now that I checked out the screenshot again, I think the problem is that the buzz saw next to the exit was too high when I played it. There was no way to jump over it but it also never dived deep enough into the wall so that I could simply run over it. Maybe it's a problem that's caused by Unity not working with pixels in 2D?

bluedandelion 2023-10-09 08:36

@moebius Yeah you probably encountered that glitch where the saw moves upwards as time goes on. Fortunately I have fixed that issue, in case you want to try beating that level again

"Maybe it’s a problem that’s caused by Unity not working with pixels in 2D?" Uh.. I have no idea, Unity works really well with 2D pixel art pretty much all the time

moebius 2023-10-09 09:03

Thanks @bluedandelion, I will gladly give it another shot later .

And for the Unity & 2D thingy, it's just that Unity afaik uses 3D with orthogonal projection for their 2D, and that could potentially lead to rounding problems when projecting from 3D to 2D. But you're right, it should not have such a big effect. I'm just glad that you were able to fix the problem

lincolnsalles 2023-10-09 19:44

A good sample of a precision platformer. I suffer a lot with this genre because I really don't like dying so much over and over again, but it's part of it. I liked the simple graphics and the sound fits well. It's within the theme, although I think not so much, since space isn't that limited, and on precision platforms space is generally already limited...

bluedandelion 2023-10-10 05:04

@lincolnsalles Thanks for the feedback! Yes the theme is probably the game biggest shortcoming. The idea was that the levels happen in "a limited space" but yeah it's a bit of a technicality.

the-enigma 2023-10-10 20:34

Solid entry. Reminded me of VVVVVV. Good job!

prutty 2023-10-11 13:29

Great game, especially by a single person, nice job, and thank you for playing our game. Since you completed ours I felt like I had to complete yours too ;D. Nice graphics and great controls, but the spike hitboxes were a little bigger than I expected. I found two bugs, but they are not game breaking by any means. Firs one if you mash space, sometimes the player jumps two times, and once when I dashed into a gravity changer I fell through the map and died. Well done tho :D

kép_2023-10-11_152325918.png

bluedandelion 2023-10-11 17:09

@prutty thanks for playing! I hope it wasn't to frustrating since a lot of people unfortunately have a really hard time beating it (especially the second to last level).

Yes the game is somewhat buggy, the falling through the map one was especially baffling to discover, but from what I can gather it's a really rare one so it's not that big of a deal.

I should also mention that while I did beat the game, I couldn't beat that one "final challenge" level

wizzy-chan 2023-10-11 20:36

Very fun platformer that reminds me of Celeste. Level design is good and there's a nice difficulty curve. The spike hitboxes feel a bit bigger than they should be and it would be cool to see the timer used for difficulty more instead of feeling like a background element. Definitely one of my favourite games I have played in this jam

bluedandelion 2023-10-12 08:11

@wizzy-chan Thanks for the feedback! Yes the hitboxes are all boxes so they do not fully represent the sprites which makes them feel a bit bigger and unfair. Also I made the timer less strict in the idea of giving more inexperienced players some room to breath. Anyways, I'm glad that you really enjoyed it a lot!

flaterectomy 2023-10-13 16:47

A very solid platformer! Dig the art style, with the one exception there being the huge amount of grey on screen. The music suits the vibe very well. I appreciate the tutorial levels at the start; a solid way to teach the basic move mechanisms.

In the end, I was also just struggling on the left-right-left upward jump section other folks pointed out before abandoning my attempts. Can't seem to get the timing and direction down for that, and ultimately this was where my enjoyment got overshadowed by frustration a bit.

The circle wipe is a fun vibe, but with the quick succession of deaths in this last level I played, it started to add to the frustration.

bluedandelion 2023-10-14 10:51

@flaterectomy I'm sorry to hear that the game got really frustrating at the end, yes I unfortunately underestimated the difficulty of that level, but don't worry too much about it, that was the second to last level and the ending scene is not all that impressive so you were able to experience most of the game. Anyways, thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the art style and the music!

saralizzieb 2023-10-18 02:13

Really fun game, found it a little tough but it was worth it. The graphics are super cute and it was really well executed - kudos!

nuin 2023-10-18 18:01

Very polished, that wall jump level was way too hard like everyone is saying, also I think the spikes could be a bit more forgiving

evermoon 2023-10-19 07:15

Very interesting 🤔

scarytreegames 2023-10-20 19:38

You made a good platformer with responsive controls, good level design and pleasant sound and graphics

aderpychickenstudios 2023-10-20 20:18

The controls are fun but I found the wall jump was a little inconsistent also the spikes collider I think was a little too large.

curtis-pelissier 2023-10-20 20:20

Like @danial-jumagaliyev said, I was stuck on this level. The wall jump timing is really tight for this one ; maybe because the spikes hitbox is too big?

Though, great entry with a Celeste/SMB mood. Really cool
