Awesome Work!
Wooow. This is the most polished anf fun game I've played on this gamejam so far. Loved the audio, the dubbing was on point! The art was cohesive and fun, the theme fulfilled... I enjoyed smashing and shaking and burning things... In the tutorial I nevber managed to see the second recipe (the dubbing said sugar but there was no recipe), so I played the levels instead :) Really good job! (My teammate saw me playing and got so interested he helped me play it too :D)
@cloistered @terylangosh Thank you for the kind comments & letting me know about that strange glitch- hope to get that figured out very soon. Really glad to hear you enjoyed!

@cannibalgirl brb gonna cry bc of your comment
Seriously though, it means so much to read that. I'm so glad you enjoyed the game and the elements that went into it. A lot of credit goes over to to the VAs and composer that joined in to help me on this! But again, thank you so much for the comment, really happy that you had fun.
(The Voodoo Sprouts harmed in the making of these dishes will remain in our hearts forever)
jesus i was so shaken by the game that i couldn't even spell voodoo properly
<3 <3 <3
WOW that was amazingly well done, any plans to continue it after the jam? I honestly don't have any criticism for it, maybe some kind of trash can would be nice? I accidentally destroyed half my ingredients with a pepper when they were introduced, and that was just in the way after that. I loved the hammer :)
The characters design and voice acting are charming, the recipes are creative, smashing and burning things is fun. This game is really great! Well done!
Just wow, I don't think I can add anything that's already been said, so just, wow!
Really good game, i really liked the dorky artstyle and humor. Great voice acting, together with the fiddly mechanics its a great combination. Sometimes i just wished for some kind of trash can cuz things cept cluttering up my workspace, but i guess thats by design :joy: Good job guys, great teamwork
OH. MY. GOD.
THIS IS ***THE*** BEST GAME OF THIS JAM, HANDS DOWN.
It has everything, humorous interaction with customers, voice acting better than many paid titles, and it's so full of character I cannot. I genuinely CANNOT believe this was made in 3 DAYS. This normally would've taken me HALF A YEAR, and still wouldn't be this good.
Words cannot describe how great my amazement is, so I'm just going to say, that you are a genius! You've earned yourself a new fan!
wow, really well polished game with an impressive voice cast and score! I feel like you need some more screenshots on here as I wasn't expecting the game to look that good. My only real critique is that the pacing was little slow. Days felt quite long and there was never really a tension to get stuff done in time. having said that, the script and performances got to really shine because of this, so
This is a really fun game! You nailed the interactions like smashing and shaking perfectly, and on top of that a bunch of funny voiced dialogue to listen to. One of the best games I've played so far this jam. The voodoo boys are hilarious!
Toka kitchen for for adults. It's a very pleasant performance, there are a lot of dialogues, but for jam it's generally rare when an audiovisual style is thought out to the smallest detail. Great game, thanks, I liked it!
Thank you for the game! It's reminded games by "Rusty Lake". I spend a lot of time playing your game!
Holy hell, this was an incredible submission! No notes, I'm just gonna rattle off things I liked about it: - The voice acting was top-notch. You must know a lot of really good voice actors because they played their parts perfectly! Maybe a couple of them were a tad over-the-top, but all together, they were such fun characters. I particularly liked the worrywart girl, the critic, and the bro. - Hammering all the ingredients was very satisfying. The animation, sound design, and physics all made it feel like I was actually hammering a cube of melon, shaking the brains out of a miniaturized man, or blowtorching a chili pepper. (Tell a lie, I do have one note. At one point I got stuck, unable to load the corn pillar into the shaker. Turns out I had accidentally dropped something else into the shaker without realizing. So I would have made the filled shaker look more distinct from the unfilled shaker.) - The balancing of the levels was perfect. Every time, I got down to the wire. I had to retry the last level, but that was because I didn't notice that the overburnt ingredient the red lunatic guy wanted me to make was the same thing I had sitting literally right next to his plate when the order came in. - Very funky music that conveyed the spacey setting at the same time.
Great job! This is extremely impressive having made all this in just three days.
I can't believe this is a jam game. VO is hard to get right. The general rule of thumb is that mediocre VO will detract from a game so it is better to remove it entirely if you can't get it right. Achieving this level of performance, coverage, and recording quality in a 72 hour jam is absurd.
The gameplay, music, and tone are excellent as well!
@adam-gallina Glad you had fun with it! I *was* going to add a trash can at first, but then a devilish mood came over me and I decided it'd be more fun to have chaotic ingredients strewn about everywhere. I'm definitely considering building off of this idea after the jam!
@she-wrote Thank you so much for your nice comment! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.
@cievers Glad it wow-ed!
@zluca Really happy to hear you liked it, thanks for your comment! And yeah, the lack of a trash can is unfortunately by design heh heh
@truechips That means a lot to hear, thank you so much! My cheat code was staying up for 30-hours straight for the last stretch. So uh, maybe insanity is more of the right word for it lol
@fizzbark Thank you! It's pretty cool hearing that it was too easy for you, most play sessions I've watched have gone down to the wire or failed on day 2/3. You're an interstellar cooking pro! I added another screenshot, appreciate the suggestion.
@maximbegunov Glad you liked the interactions! Making the micro-gameplay fun was one of my biggest goals this jam. Thanks for your comment!
@tvorojok Thank you for the nice comment, I'm very glad you liked it!
@kosmi That's a very kind comparison. Thank *you* for playing!
@zungryware Your in-depth notes really mean a lot to read over, thank you! I'm super glad you enjoyed the audio and gameplay. I definitely agree when it comes to the shaker, it could use a larger indiactor for sure. Fun to hear about that crispy sludge- sometimes the easiest ingredient can be the hardest! Thanks for playing!
@serpo Super happy to hear you liked the voice acting, that aspect definitely took a village but I really appreciated everyone's contributions. Thank you for your comment & for playing!
Huhh??? Just fantastic, on every aspect. Hats off!
Your game is STYLISH! This is an astounding level of polish. It's a great take on the theme, and it's intuitive and a lot of fun. I have nothing but praise to say about this. Amazing work!!
That was without a singe doubt the best game I playing it this LD so far (and it will be hard to match it). The art style is awesome, the voice acting is superb, and game mechanics and the whole idea are just so good! Simply, HATS OFF!
P.S. I cannot imagine how fast you need to go to get gold medal XD
This was honestly amazing. The voice acting was so fun and the physicality of all the game mechanics was really neat! The only minor thing I would've liked is some sort of tracker for when a recipe calls for duplicate ingredients, I spent a few seconds sometimes wondering why the order didn't go through when I just put down 1/4 seeds down.
But aside from that, this has an insane amount of polish for a 72 hour game jam game!
@fusionnist I'm really glad you enjoyed- thank you!
@fluburbio Glad you found the game to be *stylish*, thank you for your nice comment!
@zimny11 Wow, that means a lot to hear, thank you so much! The gold medal is earned by having a few minutes to spare at the end, and it is possible on all days!
@snekofspice I'm really glad to hear you liked the voice acting and gameplay! There is a bit of a tracker in the upper-right of the plate screen that should show how many total ingredients are remaining, including duplicates, + the 'x2, x3, etc' thing on the recipe, but if you have any additional suggestions for implementation I'd love to hear them. Thank you for playing & the nice comment!
Wow really good game. The gameplay mech, sprites, sounds, voice acting, humor(high on life / rick and morty vibes)- everything is well made. Looks like a fully complete game and ready to be shipped. Really enjoyed.
This is a fantastic game. Really cute take on restaurant sims, with a really funny cooking system. The voice lines are excellent and perfectly complement the aesthetic as a whole. Very full experience made in 3 days, incredible work!
Amazing stuff! I wish you wouldn't have to wait for the ending dialogue from the leaving customer to learn of the next recipe you have to cook up since it leaves you with a few seconds where you just want the characters to shut up which is a shame because I really like the personality they add to the game otherwise. Lovely game, really really fun
Well done! It reminds me of old flash games. :D
I was not expecting something this big! Great job!
Clearly an insane amount of passion and creativity went into this. Every single personality was a treat to the ears, well done to all the actors! The music is also some gooood jazz. Like, seriously. Not a boring moment. I also like how it comes back in after voice lines, and reminds you that it's still there. Still cool.
The amount of feedback from shaking and whacking things is incredibly satisfying too. Down to the screen shake when you throw items around!
The only critique I have about the actual gameplay is that the physics of ingredients sometimes seems unexpected, for example, dropping an item with no velocity, but it still shoots upward. I dunno if that was intentional, but it made plating a bit comically inept at times haha!
Also, I would sometimes click out of the borderless window sometimes, and defocus the game. Not good! I want to stay inside this masterpiece!!
This was insanely impressive and fun. Everything about it was fun and there was heaps to keep things more interesting on top of it with the different characters and the new mechanics from ingredients and events as you progress. Awesome work dudes.
Congrats! Awesome final scoring!
Thank you all so much for your support on the game :D
