I love this sort of game, where you've got to strategically place cards. I wish the lose conditions were clearer though, the first time through I placed down my cards, ended my turn, and immediately died.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Endless Harvest

Fun game!
The sound effects were nice as was the music. The tutorial did have some UI issues with the title overlapping some of the text.
It did get a bit repetitive after a while, but that only happened after round 40+. Would like to see you keep working on the game and maybe add more content!
I enjoyed playing the game, I wasn't sure if there was a specific goal to reach (gold/turn) but I got the turn 20
Really liked the music and chill pace. Great job.
I think I played with this for the longest time so far. Really endless once you spoil the mechanics. :)
I really love card games and it's a nice idea ! Well done :)
37 in 28 turns for me! Very fun entry, I remembered really like card games! Good work!
I absolutely love it! At first I thought it was easy but at some point I realized I was doomed from playing too many effects when I shouldn't have. Very fun card game, does eventually get repetitive but that's inevitable for Jam games. Fantastic Entry, one of my favs so far!
It's a very pleasant and calming little card game, but the mechanics are currently very game-able: you can just hit 'end turn' over and over again to generate massive amounts of cards; the orange effect cards are never a worthwhile investment, as they cost more than the cash harvest they're saving (with the only exception of using a single rain storm card); there is no incentive for players to try to plant crops under oncoming damage.
With some tuning to address the above and more cards added in, this could be an interesting base!
I love card-based roguelike games like this so instantly I was interested in this. Very cool idea, but I think there should be some sort of penalty for hitting End Turn, cause I ended up just mashing it repeatedly to get infinite cards. Definitely needs balancing but I can see a lot went into the engine work and a really cool proof-of-concept!
@poboy I remember even thinking about having some kind of penalty for not planting but I just forgot to get to it. That was really an oversight. Thanks for playing!
It got some solid mechanics, just needs some balancing work, variety and improvements for UI. And some kind of mechanic to keep you from spamming end turn. Maybe end turn could took you some money away, "expenses of running farm" or stuff like that to justify it
This has potential to be expanded :)
Very good! I'm always wating to make some kind of a card game every game, but every time doubting my ability to make it balanced, as it is essential for this genre. And in my opinion - you done well there, feels like a good balance between taking seed and effects, and protecting or risking the plant. Well done!)
Definitely a good start and a good idea, but it felt like most of the effect cards were never worth playing, because they cost a lot compared to the plant.
Very nice that you could show the tutorial during the game. Interesting approach to use a card game for the harvest theme. Sadly I did not understand why I lost and why the pest control card didnt work like the irrigation card. Nice game though!
Neat game! Everything made sense to me, though I found myself mostly ignoring the effect cards, and just conservatively planting seeds when it was safe to do so... got to 100 money on turn 78 and called it a win ;). Maybe having a win condition would have been good, or a guaranteed lose condition (damage numbers go up by 1 every 25 turns or something, would also disincentivize just passing a bunch to get cards).
This game has its moments, but it also has some shortcomings. The atmosphere and mood of the game is well done, but it doesn't quite hit the mark in terms of overall enjoyment and fun factor. While it has some unique elements, it doesn't fully stand out in terms of innovation. The theme is partially successful but it could be better. The graphics are decent but not exceptional. The humor is also lacking. Overall, it's not a terrible game, but it's not the best either. With some improvements, it could be a more enjoyable experience.
it's a nice and well balanced idea! would have loved some more cards, but 48 hours is of cause not a lot of time to create a card game and then even code it :)
