This is hands down the best MMO I've ever played. I simply can't stop playing... even if I wanted to, which I don't because it's THAT fantastic. What kind of loser would stop playing a game this incredible anyway? Not me! That's for sure.

mdnr 2022-04-04 02:57

I'm still having so much fun playing this game!

lanalux 2022-04-04 03:09

@wogabi That is the correct attitude. :)

@mdnr We hope you never stop. >:)

Wow, this is one of the best games I've played in any Ludum Dare. Even though the game hinted at it the ending was still a nice surpise. I was going to suggest a daily log in reward for the dedicated players but the truly dedicated wouldn't log out anyway.

one of the best i've seen. rate my game pls

Your art style, landing page, the logo, the main screen music are just perfect, it feels very, very polished (it doesn't look like a 48h game).

Somehow it reminds me a lot to the Nintendo art style.

You really master the tools that you are using (the whole game screams it), thanks for submitting this game.

I'll try to PLAY IT AGAIN tonight to see more details ;)

Incredible game! The graphics were amazing, and I loved the house building elements. I'm a true master builder now: House.png The game even had a great reward for returning players!

On a more serious note, it took me a very long time to figure out how the game works, although that's intentional perhaps. Also, was there any way to gain levels? Other than that, amazing entry!

masterofcheese 2022-04-05 00:26

Loved the use of the theme, and the building mechanic was very cool!

Very realistic, just like some past relationships! XD Great Idea Lana. It took me a while to realise.

Great graphics, the mood is very nice, i like the opppressive ambiant after enter in the second part. In the shop interface i think you can use another color for text because white on white was not clear. The twist is very good, good work ! shop.png

That was some kind of voice acting here, great job on creating a marshmallow world with diamonds as currency.

sunjet 2022-04-05 16:20

Incredible game! But as for me you should delete the Quit button, because it's just stupid to leave this game ever!

P.S. Just look at my house!

Impressive amount of stuff for compo! The visual style is really nice and I love that there's voice acting. Only complaint really is the player movement and camera could have used a bit more attention.

drentsoft 2022-04-05 19:12

Great take on the theme. Loved the psychotic kids show vibe to the characters/world.

lukein 2022-04-05 21:51

Made a staircase from dirt cheap furniture, trying to end this... To my surprise there wasn't any fall damage. LD50screenshot.png

Loved the twist tho!

Copypasta from itch.io page.

Cute game. I like the Teletubbies like character with the cute voice, round houses, spiral sky, and the rainbow tunnel.

rolly 2022-04-06 18:40

Ok you got me x) I was like "Meh. It says that the theme is a twist, but I've been playing for 10 minutes and I don't see it. Either I'm too stupid, or it's just a troll..." but then it hits me :D I'm happy I didn't Alt-F4 :D

The characters are really cute (no matter how harshly they talked to me), and the environment is pretty good-looking in general. The detail when mining the gems is actually pretty impressive, and I know how difficult it is to make a 3D game in 48 hours! The voice acting is very good and definitely adds something!

Very funny, thanks for this!

Btw, I will play this game again if I want to.

This is a really good game and I see it having a lot of potential. I feel like you could've gone to a horror game twist with making us not leave but it looks like you didn't.

projectaroid 2022-04-08 20:05

What a great game! The look, audio, and feel of the game are really nice. The humour in the game is really good. It adds a second level of game play :D Great work!

elimarable 2022-04-10 15:18

You really nailed the humor and mood on this one! The voice acting, the sound effects, the cheerful music juxtaposed against the creepy atmosphere, it all comes together just right. I did find one minor bug: I was able to swing my pickaxe at the empty space where a rock used to be and get another crystal. I'm amazed you managed to get so much content crammed into a compo entry!

jacinto-mba 2022-04-12 11:14

Amazing piece of work, this is such a great game!

chrissx2 2022-04-12 21:06

3h later and i still dont know how to quit the game ;<

100th-coin 2022-04-18 21:14

The twist is pretty cool! I really enjoy games that "seem to know more than they should", such as tracking whether you've been banned from returning. Even before discovering the twist, I thought the scenery was really unsettling. The ambient background noise of deep rumbling and growls(?) made the whole experience uneasy, in a good mood-setting way. (which absolutely fits when you figure out the twist)

The voice acting is spot on, and including 3D models in a 48 hour jam is incredible. The wide selection of furniture that can be collected and placed shows a huge amount of attention to detail, and it's impressive how much is in this game.

It almost fits into your twist, but I honestly think the game is boring. As stated, not being able to level up is by design, but that makes the gameplay dull. The pickaxe swinging is jank if you click too fast, but doesn't auto fire when held, so it's a bit tedious. Also you can infinitely mine where you've already broken apart a gem-rock to get infinite gems from one rock, even though the rock is already gone. The game has flaws, and I can't tell if that was on purpose. I feel like the twist would work even better if the game actually had enough content to *really* delay the player from closing. Even if completely tacked on, adding arbitrary "upgrades" like a skateboard that costs 100 gems, or giving the player some sort of goal to reach would really add to the experience.

Games where the player creates their own objectives are perfectly fine, take Minecraft for instance, but when the only objectives the player *can* create is to build a structure or reach x gems, making the gameplay that leads to the objective fun is critical. As a brief analysis, mining for gems and building structures are the two main mechanics. Building structures requires gems. If mining for gems isn't fun, then the entire game falls flat. Though it wouldn't solve all of the problems, adding some stylish particles while mining could help make it *feel* more fun. (Usually I'd replay the game to see if there were particles, but...) It feels like the focus was on the huge variety in 3D models, and not enough attention was put into gameplay.

Again, perhaps that's what you were going for as a way to incentivize the player to press the quit button, thus discovering the twist. I just think the game could still be fun as a means to delay the inevitable.

Anyway, after writing all of that I feel like a huge jerk, but I think it's still valid feedback. On a different note, I think it's pretty funny how the title screen replaces the letter 't' with a sword, despite a sword having zero relationship to this game whatsoever. Also, heck, this is a Compo entry, which makes all of this way more impressive. Nice work, and Godspeed!
