Nice game! Really enjoyed the world you built. Cool art and atmosphere in general. Was fun exploring. Good work!
really funny. i love the art
The music ans sfx are top notch they make a very good athmosphere for the game. It somehow reminded me The VR game The Under Presents. I wish the game was more gameplay oriented with features like being able to extenguish fire even on a flying people so he can drop back into the game. Fire spreading among people and trees would also be a fun thing. Also respawning after falling in the water is an easy way to improve playabilty.
What a silly little game!
I love the art style and sounds Cardboard people on fire make! However, the realistic player arm sticks like a sore thumb. Maybe that was the intention, but it didn't work out for me.
Anyway, I had some fun dousing silly cardboard people. Good job!
I had to download based on the name alone. The game did not disappoint. I have no idea what the hell is going on but its got an atmosphere that is both tense and relaxing. Definitely one of the weirdest games I've played and it will probably be in the back of my mind for some time.
Sound sets a nice chill mood and cardboard models look cute. Effects are quite off but overall it's a nice game.
Great sound design! The idea with the cardboard world and characters is also very interesting, a nice experience of being in this nice, burning world :)
Awesome game! I loved the graphics, especially the faces and the eyes that will hunt me forever. Audio is cool, the voices and the music. I liked that people underwater still caught fire :D. And how you drop back into the game if you try to swim.
I want to go to Cardboards City on a weekend! :scream_cat:
So atmospheric and chilly place, with nice people who suffer the unknown disease that make them fire up to the sky :scream_cat:
And ony me can save them with my water gun from sudden inflammation :scream_cat:
Haha 5 stars for humor, mood, and graphics :sunglasses: Very nice game!
Loved the cardboard art style, and the villagers sound effects.
I loved the aesthetic.
Visual component is awesome. Idea with cardboard city is great!
i liked the art but wished they would light on fire more often. It was too laid back
It's hard to know who's on fire and where, but the mood is awesome. Add nore narrative and full gameplay, and there's a potential for something like a cardboard Stacking!
That was both interesting and hilarious but it wasn't fun because of pacing issues. Once I got over how beautiful the people were, I found myself just running around waiting for someone to catch fire. I think for this to work you have to significantly increase the rate at which people catch fire because most of the gameplay is waiting around and hoping you're close enough to the next person on fire to put them out before its too late.
You've got an awesome world and concept here but the game design needs more work to make it a fully fleshed out experience
The fire is inevitable and all-consuming, but I'll be damned if I let it take this pup.

A great wacky game jam experience. The graphics and mood are great. There could be a little more in terms of gameplay, but what you have is already a pleasant experience.
I will say it would be nice to have an "out of bounds" that would return you to the map --- just about the first thing I did was wander into the ocean until I fell into the void.
Nice work for 72 hours!
Okay, so, right out the gate the cardboard looks amazing (double-corrugated no less)! The comments and quips from the cardboard people are not only funny, but also a great way to get the player invested in keeping them from combusting. The sing along with the 'cafe jazz' was also a great way of starting the game off. As is my standard practice I did poke at the edges quite a bit and found if you fall out of the map area there doesn't seem to be anything in place to reset you back to the main area, that being said though, I *was* actively trying to see if that would break anything. ;) Overall a pretty fun idea and wonderfully presented, great job!

I think I had a bug were people on fire wer also behaving like rockets. the idea, colours, and look are pretty neat anyway.
I had fun exploring the town for a while. It's very beautifully made, the graphics, sounds and the music are top notch. It was a very calming experience.
However, there's not much to do here, except wander around. People catch fire too randomly and too slowly to make the player care.
But I guess that's the point. For exploration, this game is perfect
I loved the creativity, it is fun to save the cardboard people, and the music is amazing. Well Done!
Lovely aesthetics. I have a soft spot for small-open-world-fool-around games. It's a shame that the level is too small, as I think, exploration is a big part of this sort of games. Though, I had my dose of fun pushing everyone into the sea for a while, good job with the entry.
Nice
Great game. I love your dedication to the cardboard art style, I especially liked the cardboard seagulls. With the nice ambient music and great sound effects, the game has a really nice atmosphere. However, can you actually lose? I have been playing for a while and tried to save the cardboard humans in the beginning, but stopped after a while and let them burn, but as I am writing this the game is still running in the background and I still haven't lost. If there is a loss condition, maybe it should happen faster. (Maybe this is the case), but I feel like the game should end with more and more people on fire, too many to reasonably put out, and eventually the city itself catches fire and then the game ends.
Very original concept, good job!
Like others said, great experience, nice graphics and sound and atmosphere. I particularly liked the contrast between the carboard style of the city and the realistic aspect of the sea, the player, the fire, water, etc. The whole thing resonates like a nihilistic experience to me, people get on fire, that's not good or wrong, that's just it, you can try to do something but eventually can't win, so you may as well take look at the sunset with a cool lounge music in your ears :) I like it!
What a delightfully weird game - in the best way possible!
I love everything about the presentation. The cardboard graphics, the little waddling the NPCs do as they walk, the random voice lines (especially the dog sound!) - all amazing! I had a bit of trouble understanding exactly where my water cannon was going to shoot. It just kind of seemed to spray everywhere. I think I would prefer if it shot in a more focused beam to make it easier to use. That said, it clearly doesn't take itself too seriously and so neither did I. I really enjoyed just wandering around and helping putting out fires where I could, and where I couldn't - oh well, I was having too much fun!
Overall great submission, I really enjoyed the experience!
Steve, you know he was really into corregated, but i said i'm more of a paper guy myself. lol fun lines. Aestetic is spot on. The fire fits the theme. Lack of control though really hurts. I tried herding all the little people together so i could keep them safe, but that just makes it more likely to die and spread faster. If there was a herd bonus, haha. Level felt really neat. music yeah! Sound effects and voice overs were great! nothing felt clanky. Just the randomness and lack of doing things that helped you delay the inevitable was the biggest thing for me that i wanted to do. Otherwise super cool stuff going on.
Great atmosphere. The music was great and the cardboard people were delightful to look at. I wish there was more of a game component like a counter or something for how many you've saved or how many have ascended to heaven (rocket ship style). Loved it though
Such a chill atmospheric game. Love the art style choice and chill effects even the Cardboard people are on fire. Great theme fit also.
Few things to note to improve(?) the game: * More noticable sound / visual indication if somebody is on fire. * Show their `Catch-on-fire` change, when being near the person/animal. So if I come near the cat, and it's likely to catch fire soon, I could stay and watch rather then moving on to another potential target. * On fire objects could spread fire chance while on ground. * Dousing cardboard objects in fire could reduce their chance to get fire, so routine water bath would prevent fire risk, but too much water could damage cardboards otherwise. * Most of the time I spent running around looking for early fire signs, but when I noticed it and RAN to the source usually I was there too late. Maybe add another pre-fire step, that changes behaviour of the people. * And to make it more challenging, some pre-fire activities for one type of cardboards could be the same a normal activity so other cardboard types. For example dogs could usually jump up and down, but when nearing fire they would start rolling on ground. While one type of person could start jumping up and down when nearing fire. That way it you start training to see the wrong acting patterns.
How did you manage to make those interesting / creepy faces? Your own work?
Oh, and rocket-like departure got me laughing aloud
