Love the oldschool TV effect, really feels like a retro game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD49 → Dr. Frank

Love the oldschool TV effect, really feels like a retro game.
I love the tv effect, specially I still hadn't seen it in a godot game. Nice shader work.
not a bad little game, took me a minute to realize i had to hit the potions that were alittle bit bigger to get the + score. for some reason i thought this was a potion mix game to make him come alive.
The CRT effect is really nice!
Got 85p, not sure if that is any good or not :) Really like the visuals and effects, very cool and polished game feel. It is not quite clear initially what to do and I think highlighting the flask that needs shooting a bit better would work wonders.
Amazing entry for this LD!
Really visually appealing game, the TV filter and sprites are nice and contribute to a spooky season kind of game. As I continued to play I got better at predicting when the monster would attack again, and timing my shots at him to make sure I didn't overextend. My only criticism is that the filter makes the outline around the flasks somewhat hard to see. Well done!
Nice graphics and audio. Game could use some progression, and it is hard to tell which flask is highlighted.
Nice little game! Got around 750 points on my second try, once I could distinguish the highlighted flask from the normal ones. Has an arcade-y feel with the short looped music, scan-line type overlay and ramping monster speed. Might be nice to have an indication of when the monster is about to 'wake up'. Would be interesting to see what other challenges could be added as the game progresses, or even more complex goals.
The game is very nostalgic, and it feel's like something we would have played as kids, and lost hours on even though it isn't very demanding.
Otherwise, it doesn't seem to have any sort of "great motivator". Why is Dr.Frank shooting the potion vials? What is he shooting? The game doesn't seem to tell me much about itself.
I really liked the 8-bit style audio. I think it was very fitting for the game. And the CRT shader that was used for the game worked very well to transform it into a very retro feeling experience.
Simple fast paced game, its little hard to notice which flask need to be aimed though
The only thing I would change is an extra indication about what potion to shoot. Other then that it was a solid game.
Hey there!
I appreciate the simple premise behind this game. The controls felt reasonable and the early difficulty felt good. I wasn't a huge fan of the syringe resetting mid-flight if fired multiple times, and I found the chromatic aberration made it hard to see which flask was highlighted. In general, I think I would have enjoyed this game more without the overindulgence of the post-processing features. Less is more here. Outside of that, I thought the art was pleasant and enjoyed the sound design.
Thanks for sharing your game with us!
At first the game was a bit confusing, but I got a hold on it. Old screen filter is just fantastic!
Wow, that tv shader with with low fi audio is awesome! The game is fun, and the graphic really match the style too. Nice work!
A very oldskool, minimialistic experience :) Thumbs up for the sprites, their tiny animations, the generated sounds, the music and the effect :)
However it was very hard for me to see which potion was highlighted :(
Good job, be sure to keep making games :)
Stunning graphics! It really seemed an old 8-bit game, and both the sounds and the music contributed a lot to this feeling. The gameplay could be made more exciting by having some sort of progression, but overall it's a great work. Well done!
Nicely made, everything fits, the sound and graphics :) Gets a bit boring after a while though
