Couldn't play the game on the web, loading slows down by 90%, waited about 5 minutes, maybe something with the build?
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD49 → Untrailed

Very satisfying to spin these doughnuts! Fun to play, and great car model and consistent sf/cyber theme overall. I feel having that high top speed is a bit of a trap because there's zero reaction time when an enemy appears and you're going fast. To add some "realism" you could have the smoke come out of the back of the car, so the enemies 'die' because of smoke. Still, great fun! Good job.
Hey @albertmixalev, thanks for giving it a try! Very weird, what browser are you using? I have tried the macOS and Windows builds, and the Webgl version in Firefox and Chrome - and it worked in all of them. I'll check if I can make the build smaller though.
im hooked on this one. great style & presentation, and the driving inertia is satisfying. i wish dead cops couldnt bust you cause its really easy to swing into one under a smoke cloud
I cleaned the cache and everything worked, I still had a problem) The game looks very cool! The visual effects are on top, the controls are pleasant. Congratulations, great job!
I really like the concept. Feels like taking Tron off of its grid and putting it into the real world. The car dynamics feel smooth, the particle effects are really good and the general atmosphere is engaging. I would up the FOV a bit or maybe move the camera in front of the car so I can see a bit further ahead. Really good job though for a first jam and for just a month in Game Dev this is incredible stuff.
I'm also having web loading issues - is there an itch.io link instead?
Hey @grevanu, sorry to hear that you're having issues with the web version, I wonder what's wrong with it.
Let me know if one of the builds on https://dev-vixen.itch.io/untrailed/ works for you!
Thanks for checking out @hugelogan! I considered disabling collisions on dead vehicles but thought it might make it too easy - that's what I get for not having someone play the game before submission :)
Thanks @aidan-and-seb! I was torn on the camera placement all of yesterday, this was a compromise between being too wide and easy to play and to narrow. I feel like I would have be still tweaking it unless there was a hard deadline haha
Thanks @mausimus! Smoke was actually on my todo list, but I didn't manage add it in time :)
Usually being stuck playing your own game is a sign that you're doing things right ;)
Very fun, simple game! Music is AWESOME!!! Seriously making a good music track in such a short time is hard, let alone doing it *as well as* making the actual game. Fantastic work!
I found a very silly exploit though, which I share in my Initial Playthrough video: https://youtu.be/uMC00-idW8A
The art, the camera and the sound are sinestesically combined in a performance of impact. Impact! It is about impact not only due to the car crashes. However the game design is not too helpful to improve playability. It seems more to be a tech or atmosphere demo of impact, and it is all OK, but just OK. - SPOILER --- Spoiler --------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- it is very simple to high scored the game: -------- *just zero/doughnuts/bootleg turn it* 01010101010101010110101010110101001010100110101001010101010101010101010100101101010101001011001101001010101111001010101010101010101100101010010110101010101011001010101010
Love the style! It feels a little claustrophobic for me though. I think zooming the camera out just a tiny bit would do wonders!
the sound effects are great -- really crunchy on impact. Explosions are nice, too. music gets a little repetitive. Found an exploit: if you just hold W and A or D and do infinite donuts, you will never die. Fun little time waster.
Cop car go boom!
Nice Job!
Oh man this is awesome

I've got a rhythm going! :sunglasses:
You nailed the feel of the car. It felt like driving in a topdown GTA, just without all the obstacles getting in the way. The soundtrack reminded me of the Tron sequel, which is always a good thing!
Oh yeah ! It was really fun ! I liked it !
webgl version didn't work for me. If its a unity game maybe you can try to do this:
Build settintgs -> Player Settings -> Publish settings -> Compression format: disable
I had the same issue, it worked for me.
@cinar That's weird, when I disable the compression it doesn't work on my machine (firefox/chrome on mac). What OS/browser are you using?
Does this build work for you? https://play.unity.com/mg/other/webgl-builds-107724
@phobos001 Thanks! Unfortunately I've only found a suitable soundtrack, haven't made it myself. Hopefully I'll get to that point in the future :)
I fixed the exploit, thanks for reporting it!
@leyaotang @rumor @pryankster Thanks, I fixed the spawning point so it's not possible to circle infinitely any more :D
@rosymaple Thanks! I added a one-liner to zoom out the camera when accelerating, hopefully it's not too jarring. Good suggestion!
@denhette @tayteus @ideaspersecond Thanks a lot!
@bakuchi I will try the current version soon as possible! Your game is awesome!
Nice game! It gives me a Tron vibe, and tons of fun.
May I suggest another possible way to counter the infinite donut exploit? Maybe make the car slow down when it's touching it's own trail.
And also the car control is too 'Stable' for the theme, maybe increase the slippery-ness?
fantastic game. I love the fluidity of the car's control, it's very accomplished. great graphics and music.
Liked the game. Mechanic was actually quite interesting once I figured it out. Great job!
That is a satisfying car to drift around with! Great feel/mood and juicy explosions. I really enjoyed it, my only concern would be that spinning trick that apparently I was not the only one usiong ahah, but even with that it's a great entry especially for a first Ludum Dare!
omg this was so satisfying. i loved the explosions most! it was awesome good job
Excellent entry! The gameplay was fantastic and the audio-visuals came together really well!
Very impressive for your first jam. I liked the control of the car, visual aesthetics and explosions. Game feels great. Add some more content, progressive difficulty, polish and you got yourself a really nice game. Well done.
Really slick experience, all the assets fit together perfectly. Nice one :)
Ok, honestly I am not surpriced that you have spend most of the time playing it. The idea is really inovative and it is like playing snake that is being protected by his tail, and it is not snake, but car! Love it! Great job!
Simple game, but it's a lot of fun! I'd really like to see a "full" and polished version of it, do you plan to continue development on this game?
Thanks everyone!
@binarydiv Yeah, that's the plan! I just got into gamedev so I have a lot to learn, but I'm planning on improving it and publishing a proper game out of this prototype.
@bakuchi Very nice! Where can I sign up for updates?
@binarydiv Good question, I haven't really thought that far ahead yet haha
I made a twitter account the other day, will post there for sure: https://twitter.com/dev_vixen/
And I'll post here and itch.io, but not sure if there are any notifications for new posts though.
