It has a good mood and graphics, but you need to add some way to skip the initial narrative (which is really good tho) but it takes too long to try again.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → Into the Storm

A really good and unforgiving game that made me sweat and almost piss my pants. Great visuals and great sound design.
End of story a little abrupt but over all that's an A fam.
Good narrative game. There is a nice work on the sound design and the mood!
The gameplay reminds me the old PS1 Harry Potter game
I don't really something to say about. Maybe it lacks of a music when approaching the storm ?
It has a good mood adn good narrative !
Wow, it is really impressive that you implemented a convincing flight model! However, I kinda wished for some checkpoint system, or a way to skip these (pretty cool) cutscenes.
Controls felt great and the narrative was very interesting and immersive ! It was just a bit frustrating to not be able to skip the beginning when starting over again
This was fun! I liked how the flight controlled! Nice work!
The controls feel great, but the cost of losing is a bit too high for replayability. Would love to fly between lightning bolts and tornados, but without checkpoints I don't think I'll ever get there!
@kszaku The flight system is actually pretty simple as there's not much real physics consideration there, so it's pretty much only rotation around the plane's different axis & going forward (+ an auto roll correction with some lerp to keep plane horizontal by default)
@tomlbarden Here's a playthrough video so that you can see the end, it also shows the secret ending after that. I'll keep it in the comments for the time being as it shouldn't replace actual playing for ratings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PopRn4cx7O8
@gamesplusjames A funny thing is that i stumbled upon one of your video specifically about flight controls while looking for refs as to how they should play. And looking at it now, what i did was quite different to what was showcased in your video as they don't play the same at all.
An interesting game with amazing visuals. It was enjoyable, but through a multiple playthroughs (when I died lol) I found myself wishing I could skip the cut scenes. Other than that, it's a very solid game.
I also accidentally found the hidden ending before I read what you wrote about it when I tried to avoid crashing into the wall of clouds lol.
It has definitely a great mood and atmosphere, with nice graphics and great narrative. I liked pretty much the start of the game, and for sure has much potencial!
But i have to say that it would be perfect if, right after we start, the narrative didn't show again.
Doing that, i am sure that players would try more, 'cause can be really annoying see over and over the same text, without been capable of skip.
the dialogue-gameplay-dialogue formula works well but it's a bit stiff imo i was really disappointed you couldn't pick up the light orbs ^^# - a little scoring, that would have been enjoyable also your game needs checkpoints ^^# - I crashed down to see if you can and had to start from scratch iterate bruh - let's see how you grow for the next one! Thanks for sharing :)
I really liked the narrated story concept, but as many people have already mentioned - there should be a "skip" option. I think that the orbs, clouds and rain are a very nice combination, but I also think it needs some wind fx.
Cool experience! Following the green dots felt very natural, and the atmosphere is great!
Great atmosphere and the flight controls felt very responsive. It was a little jarring the first run as I flew straight ahead and failed before really getting a chance to experiment with the controls. The secret ending made me laugh out loud, a great moment that felt like the game was listening and respecting the players choices.
good narrative ! Needs abit of music and a way to skip the intro :)
That was a cool experience! I liked how you built upon the atmosphere overtime. Following the dots was actually quite hard for me, but after a few tries I managed to get all the way to the end. The secret ending being an option was pretty funny :). Good job overall on the game!
The actual flying mechanic felt very responsive. I liked how I was able to get a handle of how to play immediately, and that the goal of the game was very clearly communicated to me with the design itself, instead of needing some excessive "How to play" section (I'm guilty of this myself hahaha). I also really enjoyed the overal FEEL of it, the sound and animation, all that really lent to an engaging experience. I would love to play more of a game like this, with more world to explore, some variation in challenges. I got through the lightning bit but that's where I failed. Putting me back at the start and having to sit through the cutscenes definitely put me off from trying again. Overall really solid mood and gameplay, good job m8.
@stephen-scott-day If you died during a cinematic after going through the lightning part, that was the normal 'ending'. There's a secret ending where you don't die though, but it doesn't go through the storm (turn around right after the 1st cinematic).
I would love to make a more complete game around the idea of flying around in middle of clouds & all with some exploration added to the narrative bits, with both chill parts and more tense ones (like the storm here). But sadly I lack the vfx/tech artist skills atm for such a game as that would be a lot shader & vfx heavy, and was already pretty limited as to what I could do visually for a jam version (which is why the game can feel a bit empty).
Nice and atmospheric game. I like the main mechanics that ask you to fly closer to the direction curve, but don't force you to cross each particular dot (like it were in old racing games). Extra plus for putting text along the voice-overs during the cinematics. Got both endings. In my opinion, the second one is quite dark but still interesting. Overall, great submission!
Почему-то мне вспомнился Антуан де-Сент Экзюпери. Он тоже любил рассказывал про свои полеты, так как был военным летчиком. И летал, кстати, на чем-то похожем - очень ненадежном, хрупком.
Спасибо за игру! ^_^
I bounced pretty hard on this one. The inverted controls were in no way intuitive to me, and I ended up spending far more time watching the unskippable opening than playing the game. I think I'm just going to consider the secret ending my canon run.
Great mood and atmosphere. I'm assuming I made it to the end, my plane crashed in a cinematic after the lightning area. I enjoyed playing through it. Thanks for the game.

Thank you for this entry - nice controls and a pretty unforgiving game. You executed well on a vision.
