@chase-of-bass Awwww, thank you so much! I really enjoyed working with this little attorney duo. It was a heck of a project and I'm actually a bit surprised I got it done, haha. I really appreciate your whole comment. :)
I was just scrolling through wondering aloud if anyone made a game staring two characters named Deeper when I came across this. I love it! The art and the writing are great. I was also impressed by the multiple endings and overall depth of the script. Totally feels like the start of a series.
I was hoping someone would do the Two Brothers interpretation and I was not disappointed.
@eharp & @eckkert I love that we all thought that lol. And thank you for the kind words! I enjoyed writing these guys. :D
I loved this. Well made and the short story was fun. I think I got the true ending... ;)
Transitions and animations during conversations felt super polished. I liked being able to scroll through previous dialogs, although it felt kinda buggy at times.
All in all, great work! Impressive.
Congrats on finishing the game yo! The visual novel mechanics worked nicely and being able to jump back to previous conversations was a nice addition. It might be just me but, the WEBGL version for me looked really funky so I did have to download the zip to give the game a try. WebGL.PNG
Loved it! I would love to see a full game with these characters and artstyle! Great artstyle, sound and story! Loved that it had different endings, and that you could skip through the dialogue, great on subsequent playthroughs.
I also go that graphical glitch as neighbro while on Chrome, but it worked fine on firefox.
Great work!
@frasse Thank you!! And that is super useful feedback, fully agreed. I *think* I know what may be causing issues there, but just didn't have time to test it out (story of LD, I know, lol).
@neighbro That's a funky one - I do rather like the look of it in a 90s find-the-hidden-image kinda way. Not sure why it's happening though, just tested it on Firefox, Edge and Chrome and everything seems to work for me. I might need to dig deeper for this one... Thanks for the heads up! (If you have the time to answer - no pressure! - what web browser are you using?)
@okamit Aww, thank you!! That was lovely to read :D And thanks for taking the time to download it as well - really good to know about that WebGL glitch, I'm gonna look into that.
The transitions and animations are so buttery smooth, awesome work. Creative way to tie into "Deeper and Deeper"! I originally got stuck on the first room on a clue so small it must have been made for ants (haha). I only got one of the endings last night before I started falling asleep from staying up so late our our entry, so I'll have to play through some more tonight to see the other endings.
@nvrskipgameday I used chrome, there is very good chance something is fecked on my end lol
@neighbro thank you! You're def not the only person with that issue so I'm thinking something in my build isn't playing nice with some versions of Chrome.
Chrome is black screen and edge is lsd pixel madness with only border visible. The art was pretty nice and the audio cool and shill without being overbearing (only took notice of it when i had to give it a note ^^) the ends are wild
Very fun!! As soon as I heard the theme I immediately thought "Deeper and Deeper, Attorneys at law" but knew I could never pull it off. Everything is fantastic - the art, the music, the story, the multiple endings. Love all the work put in here - nice work!!
so so impressive that you got this done in three days. I love ace attorney and this felt extremely similar, very nicely done!!
Good job, reminds me of Aviary Attorney
**+** fun take on theme
**+** the art and music fit the mood
**+** good writing
**-** Inconsistent UI; the first time I clicked "look around office" I thought the game had soft-locked
**-** needs sound effects
**-** variety in the text (e.g. bolding, colors) would be nice
I love the music, it sets a great mood for the story!
@herryfabien Thanks for the heads up, I'm still not sure what's up with that Chrome bug but I've been looking into it. And thank you for playing! :D
@danny-sperling that is hilarious, I actually wondered if anyone else would do this exact title. It just seemed to fit haha. Thank you for playing and the kind words!
@tessahardin Thanks for checking it out! I love Ace Attorney as well, thank you for the compliment.
@rovernoon Thanks for playing and for the comments!
@msnider thank you! :D
great mood and fun! love the character stills with the music! : )
Nice little game, congrats for this, I really love the drawings ! That was nice, the music is quite loud and a little too much repetitive by that's still some nice works and a good little story
Ah love the use of the theme for this, graphics and audio are great too!
@nounka Thanks! And thanks for the feedback - I agree, I had originally planned to make more music, just ran out of time haha. Story of Ludum Dare, I know :)
@sebirit and @itsonrandom Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
Man, I cracked up as soon as I saw the title and the rest of the game did not disappoint. Very well written and drawn, love the multiple endings, A stellar little visual novel. As far as complaints I only wish there was a bit more going on in the audio department (both music and sound effects) and it would be fun to see a more involved trial process, excited to see where Dee and Per Deeper go next!
Great style, and the characters felt Refined and alive. The story beats were pleasant and well structured. Great job!
Really like the concept, the theme fit well and it's fun to work on this case ! I love the storytelling and graphics are beautiful, a lot of work in that poject ! Great Game !
Good graphic, good story, groovy music. Took me 5 attempts but I finally got all 3 endings. Well done :)
Funny twist on the theme! It's a really nice little visual novel, very well written and I like the art style. More variety in music and sfx would've been a nice addition, but I'm not necessarily the best one to judge on that considering my own entry :P
Very well done, great job!
Wow, well done in such a short time. Liked the twist in the story. Did you use some library/package for dialogue system or wrote everything yourself? Wanted to check, but didn't find any full source link (or maybe I am just blind :D ).
@bloodycoin I used the NaniNovel Unity package for the visual novel elements and then integrated my own C# scripts into it. I popped it in the description, maybe there's a better place for it as I know those are easy to miss. I also just realized that I had my game listed as Source Code - so thank you for that, tired jam brain error fixed, heh. And thanks for playing!
@jaiden-gerig & @devastus) Thank you so much! Fully agree on audio, I really wanted at least one more song to pop into the courtroom scene, had it all planned out in my head but just didn't have the time haha. Agreed on SFX, too, for sure. Thank you for playing and taking the time to leave feedback :D
@phil-lesnar & @shin0nome Thank you for the kind words!! I've always wanted to write some kind of mystery type story but never had the guts to do it. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@labete NICE! Thank you for taking the time to get all three haha, that's the ultimate sleuthing :D
Well done! I liked the writing a lot. The characters are so interesting, it would be great to see them in a bigger game. It was fun to play, great job!
@bereg Thank you so much for playing (and for the kind words)! It was really fun to make them haha :)
Hi, the writings and characters were so fun, graphic were awesome. I loved the story, but first time I clicked to search the office, I thought it was bug (pun intended). No, seriously I just clicked everywhere and even tried keyboard, but couldn't find nothing. Overall, great job!
Very good game!! Good music, Very good drawing! Cool story :) The scroll up does not work for me very well. Thank you for your game
@chtimy Thanks for the heads up - I've noticed some issues with that myself and definitely wanna make a bug free future version :) And thanks for taking the time to play! :D
@tinymeowstudio Hahaha, great pun. Really upped the *ante* with that one. ;) And I totally get ya, originally I was going to put more searchable objects in there to make it better but just ran out of time. There's really only the bug on Herman's shirt in the office scenes. Thank you for playing, and for the feedback!! :D
I love the graphics!
Delightful game! Great little story and awesome graphics for such a short time. Could greatly be improved by some more sound effects and maybe some text animations. Good stuff.
gegegeg.JPG
Great game, especially the characters designs/graphics and dialogs! I only missed sound effects.
I had a small issue playing on FullScreen on Google Chrome. The mouse disappears near screen right borders, something that make me miss an object when inspecting the scenery.
@pxldev & @itsisaac & @fl thank you! Agreed on SFX & text anims for sure. And @fl, thanks for the heads up as well, gonna add that to my Chrome fix-list, still not sure what's up with my WebGL compatibility there. Cheers! :)
Well pretty fun game! First look around choice made it seem like it froze up and I believed that and got two endings until I read other comments here and found that it wasn't a bug but a bug xD. So yeah other than that no issues. Liked the writing, music and art.
@ansh-mishra Totally agreed about that first scene, if I spruce up a post-jam version that's gonna be one of the first things I fix. Thanks for checking it out! :D
Accidentally made a comment and can't delete it, ha. Anyway, thanks everyone for playing, y'all rock :) And great jam!
Impressive work, i love your artstyle <3
Sadly the WEBGL version seem to be corrupted ?
Capture.PNG
@cyriaque Thank you! And (no pressure to answer) would you happen to be using Chrome for the WebGL? I've been working on that issue but so far no dice. Thanks for the heads up - and thanks for playing! :D
Chrome webGl, yes :)
Awesome, thanks for letting me know @cyriaque :)
