The game had a strong mood, and the sounds gave the chills. Only issue was design wise, as there was rarely any visual indication of where to land next to accommodate for the narrow camera.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → the truth in the darkness

Yeah i agree with you, i was a bit rushed when making it, thanks for the review :D
"He didn't die from fear" is my favourite line
The ambiant is amazing and the storytelling is very good, the camera is too near of the character (i didn't like jumping in the unknow), this is a good entry, good job!
@sugarsugarsugar i am happy you liked it lol :D
@robowarrior1982 Oh i see, i kinda suck at making good cameras, sorry for that lol, Thanks for playing & have a great day :D
I really enjoyed this... until I reached a bug :) if you hit the 2 powerup that comes after the 4 powerup, you're screwed because you can't make the next jump and then you die and get rolled back to the checkpoint but you can never get the 4 powerup again and will never be able to finish.
Still great vibe and lots of fun until that point
@morphine oh no, i will point out you should go to the left in the 2 powerup, not to the right as the rest of the level go, sadly this was not very clear & really just rushed ):, but thanks for playing !
This looks like it would be a pretty interesting lil experience, but unfortunately there are many flaws... The camera is so zoomed in that you can't see where you're going, so you die from stuff you couldn't even see. Also for some reason the power-ups didn't respawn when you died, so if you died once you had to re-launch the game and do all the walking again in one go. I did this multiple times until I got tired so I didn't finish the game, I'm sorry. :( Though if this is your first time doing a jam, don't let me discourage you. Surely come back for the next one, cus you'll have learned a lot and will do tons better!
Hi @fupi, sorry for that, mainly all these issue's were cause of me having issue's wit the deadline & making a 48h game in general, & cause i for some reason made them get destroyed, i needed to respawn them, which cause i was running out of time, i didn't, but yeah, this is actually the first time i enter a 48H Jam, i did enter some 72h jams & 1 week one's, but this is the first time i do something like that, & this is also my first ludum dare, but yeah, Thanks for playing the game, sad that you had to restart a lot ):, Have a great day :D
Nice job, very good atmosphere! :)
Other than the issues others already mentioned, the only problem I face is that the ambient music stopped after a while. Maybe it isn't looped?
Nice job! Cheers!
Yeah, just realised i forgot to check the loop box, i mean i did, but my unity crashed & when i reopened it the music was there, so i thought nothing was wrong, or so did i thought :face_palm:, but yeah, thanks @tudvari For playing the game :D
Hi @fupi, there was a bug fixing update that fixed most of the listed issue's you pointed, so if possible, i would like if you can give it another shot if possible ? idk
Have a great day :D
@imzary I will! Probably in the weekend since I don't have time right now.
@fupi Okay :D
The HTML version is marked as a downloadable file, so I downloaded it, but my PC won't run it. Could you mark it as "play in browser" so that I can try it out?
Nice little game
Yeah @lelulagames, it was a mistake, you can now download the correct version
That was cause i was messing with webgl & they'r the same name soo ..
@imzary thank you, it worked this time.
The music is really unsettling. Perfect for this. I found a bug, too. On the slope where you start going down into the cavern I missed the jump and ended up going THROUGH the slope from below, and down under the lava pool. There was no way to reset it. You might add a reset button. Great idea behind this, good story, and I love the simple, but well done graphics.
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream! I hope my feedback is helpful, I really enjoyed the game! Here's the twitch vod if you wanna rewatch:

Thanks @justcamh :D
Thanks @lelulagames i never knew of that bug, weird, & yeah, i wanted to add a reset button but i couldn't do it in time & add on top of that it's not allowed to add features, so i didn't want to risk it, thanks anyway :D
Great mood! I liked the narration happening continuously while progressing, and the overall atmosphere (thanks to the music and graphical effect).
I found the graphics are a bit too simple, and the ending was very *cliché*. The idea of having triple/quadruple jumps was interesting, but not very challenging in the end.
Good job!
@quetzakol Thanks :D
Cool, atmospheric little platformer. I liked how sometimes you would know what to do by reading the narration.
I noticed that when you get the x4 powerup, you keep it until you pick up a different one, which made me try to avoid the x3 and x2. Perhaps you should limit the use to 1 time (and make them reappear), or simply remove the lower ones.
Keep it up!
@asdehielo Yeah, i also wanted to do the same, but sadly, i couldn't make it cause of time, Thanks for the feedback !
Nice work! I think the camera was still not zoomed out enough on the build I played, I couldn't see the next platform most of the time. I liked what you did with mixing the narration to gameplay, it gaves me Thomas Was Alone vibes. There's some spelling mistakes but overall it's well done. I liked the idea of unlocking/locking jumps number but I felt like it could have been exploited a bit better in the level design, with less linearity.
The audio is well done too it gaves the whole experience a good mood. Art wise, I'm not a huge fan of the post processing effect you used but that's a very personal opinion. The very simple graphics are actually coherent together and helps the narration and the mood so well done on that.
That was fun, good work!
@tombuston Thanks for playing :D, i think the not too zoomed out is more cause of the way unity scale stuff up
Thanks for playing :D
I like the post processing, especially the distortion while falling down. It helps with the atmosphere that the music is creating
Thanks @made3 :D
The idea is very nice! Your video is really well done and explains some interesting parts. good work
@nyanpierre Thanks :D, i never thought someone will watch it but thanks for playing & watching the video :D
I really like the player character's art! Really charming. I think a couple of quality of life improvements could make it a lot better really fast: - camera was too zoomed in for the current level design. Too many leap of faiths. - for a downloadable game, I don't seem to be able to quit? - the switch between x3 and x4 jumps is a cool mechanic, but you want to make sure the player has the time to get used to the differences between the two and find some platforming unique to each powerup to teach the player what's unique about it and what they can do. - the mood was great, yet you kept a simple font for the story elements. Import TextMeshPro and fancy that up, doesn't take long and it's a shame to break the mood!
Otherwise, good job on the sound effects and music, they get you in a great mind space. And congratulations on finishing a game in 48h, it's freakin' amazing!
@namidasai Thanks for playing the game, i would say some stuff :
1- The camera i tried zooming it out, but it appear that people still having issue's with it, i will rezoom it out by tomorrow.
2-wait, i never knew you can't quit, huh, i will look into that too.
3-Yeah i agree with you, the powerups were kinda rushed, since i added them at the last hour, so when i added them, the levels were already done.
4-Actually, it is texmeshpro, just i couldn't find a good font & i was rushed to meet the deadline, but yeah, it is textmeshpro, not really modified a lot.
Other then that, i will look into all of these, Thanks for the feedback :D
Great work. Comments were made on stream :)
Yeah, Thanks @vimlark :D
Yeah, Thanks @vimlark :D
Hey just replayed the game. You said you zoomed the camera out, but I don't see a difference. Most platforms are still offscreen. Also I see that the powerups respawn, but only the first time. After that it's the same thing as before, and you have to relaunch the game to try again. I did actually finish this time, and the ending felt.. cheap. xP It was a dream all along, ok. I get that 48h isn't enough to write a masterpiece though.
Okay @fupi lol thanks for playing, Yeah the ending is from so cheap cause i was writing it like 5m before the submission hour, & i stopped there, but yeah, Thanks :D
As promise, I finally had time to play your game on stream :) Here is a link to the correct place in the video: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=Sx1MQ445u7k&t=5180s
- Imzary was alone in front of an unknown theme of the LD48. When suddenly the revelation hit: Deeper and deeper. - Imzary started brainstorming. Searching ideas, going deeper. - In front of him was a powerup 2x: adding a super cool narative style - Imzary jumped and added it to his arsenal. - But he had to keep going, go longer in the night. - After a while, Imzary found a new powerup: the glowing eyes of simple, yet impactful, beautiful and effective graphics. - At the 40th hour, Imzary thought his journey was over. - But a new power up came about: enjoyable gameplay, smooth controls and good level design.
Congratulation on this game, I really enjoyed it! I feel that the camera could be a tiny bit zoomed out, sometime the player has to make "leap of faith" and hope there is a platform in the direction of the next jump.
The narrative style is amazing at the beginning, but could be improved for the second half of the game.
Congratulation, this is really impressive for a 48h game
Thanks for feedback @togis !, i never expected you to play the game to be honest.
Well thanks :D
Strikes very high in the mood category! I enjoyed how you went deeper and deeper into the story as you progressed into the game, I was a bit dumb and played without audio accidentally the first time but I went in a second time with audio to make sure to get the full experience. Overall really good graphics with simple shapes, maybe some way of indicating where the next platforms are when the camera is so zoomed but apart from that really great entry!
Thanks @patrickrmc for playing the game, really appreciated, & Yeah, the platforms has been quite a common issue reported by other people who played the game too, i will hopefully fix it after the jam ends :)
