Not a bad little game. I like the art of tile and enemies, but I feel like the "AI" could be a tad smarter. You can go for a _long_ time without any game interaction. My average run without moving or shooting is around 44 seconds. Even something as simple as increasing the enemy density the further you go would go a long way. I also _really_ liked the idea of the level getting darker the further you go.
@bkelly Thanks! The darker and darker mechanic was what I wanted to design the game around primarily
Better enemy AI and generation were things that I wanted to do, but ran out of time for

The art was good, the sound was good, it gave a nice atomosphere, especially when it got darker. I think this game has a lot of potential with some more AI work and maybe some more interesting challenges to keep things from getting repetitive. Solid concept, would like to see a more built out version!
Interesting idea and cool look. I think with nicer-feeling movement (a little bit of inertia, maybe) and a bit more challenge it could be pretty great. :)

19726 points. Unfortunately Charlie didn't manage to find his spell book. When the screen went dart, that was a very good move, because I was just started becoming bored, than it was more intense. But around 15k I got bored again and the music didn't help me. Is there a winning scenario? A book around 30k? :) Maybe I try again later. I can imagine other "game changer" mechanics like after 10k, the pace increases and stuff like that.
Good work overall!
Nice art, sound, and gameplay. I like the added challenge of the tunnel slowly getting dark and darker. I also like that I could both fall faster or slower. I found after a while that I could fire in a certain pattern and hit the spiders and bats that spawn without really having to guess to much. I don't really know what the solution to this would be but it did make for some good high score hunting.

Nice feeling gameplay and I really liked the art. The "press F5 to restart the game" is too genius lol

I thought the graphics in this were adorable! Gameplay-wise it's a perfectly decent top down shooter and the darkness as you get deeper was a good way to mix it up!
Nice Graphics and Mood. best game in the jam for ms

Fun game, I found the "circular spray" strategy works really well, although once you get deep and things get quite dark is anyone's game. Good effort.

Simple but fun game! I enjoyed the music, keep it up!
The getting darker mechanic was interesting indeed. I had to crank up the brightness of my monitor. The projectiles could have given off some more light.

Terrifying when it gets darker and the bugs come from both sides. Great little game. Music is okay - could match the game a bit better.
I like it, keep me on my toes more so when it got darker. The controls are tight and never felt cheated. I like the idea of juggleing the fall with the shooting. Strong game here.

As an arachnophobe I hated when it got dark. From a game design point I loved that it got darker as you went down and your gun provided a light source. Nice work

Cool game. I had some issues with moving vertically that were related to pressing mouse buttons? I like the art.
gets pretty repetitive quickly. i played for quite a while but didn't reach the end.
I really liked the concept of the game getting darker the farther you got down, and the controls were super smooth. It would be really cool if the monsters had some way to interact with light or if there was another way to sense monsters once it got dark (besides firing spells).

Very cute game that played in the browser a lot different that I expected (not in a bad way). I didn't even realize you could move the character until I read the directions while playing. Good job!

A little repetitive, but not bad. Well done!
I liked descending downwards and shooting stuff. Good use of light! I liked that the light shrunk as I got deeper around me, but that my projectiles continued to have light so I could use the projectiles to try and scope out what was ahead of me.
