LD48 — Deeper and deeper

TRENCH by dirkinz 2021-04-26T05:01:19Z

That was pretty cool, beating the game crashed with an error but hey that's called going out in style! I loved the challenging puzzles, and it was nice the way that you taught the player how the mechanics worked by showing us the mechanics without needing to say anything. The puzzles definitely felt impossible at first but quickly that gave way to an "aha!" moment which was really enjoyable, great game!

Dukes of Debt by binroot 2021-04-26T04:44:43Z

Awesome game, actually a fun little challenge. I think I worked out a slightly BS way to win but hey, I beat them all!

Embark by Pseudohausen 2021-04-26T06:26:57Z

First off, the game is very visually striking. The shadows are designed perfectly, everything looks very clean and polished, the upgrades are interesting and overall I really liked this game. Unfortunately the game crashes a lot. Whenever you beat a level it seems to have a 50% chance to go to the next level, or to just crash. Other than that, I think the pacing is kind of slow when you are just starting out and when you are near the end of a level. I think with a bit of work this could be a really, really solid story game. Again it is absolutely on point with the design and the look and feel. Fix the crashes, give the balls a boost or something when most of the dust is collected, and start the player with a few more balls and you really are on to something. I love this entry.

Ore Hoarder by Justin_C 2021-04-26T03:04:52Z

Nice job, if you can find a way to make the resurfacing/diving less repetitive it could be something really good! Chill game to just dive down and keep upgrading your little booster propane tank, intuitive controls and overall solid game. Great effort!

"Say Aaaah...!" by gilborn 2021-04-26T08:44:57Z

I really like the control system, hard to get a good grasp on but it seems somehow appropriate. The decays that started inside the teeth felt impossible to do well on, the decay started spreading so rapidly. I felt it when the guy started screaming. A memorable little game :D

Poopy's Journey to the Center of the Earth by Dr_V 2021-04-26T03:09:30Z

This has the makings of an instant classic. The controls feel really good, spinning around is fun, this is a game I would love to see built on in the future. Lots of potential, absolutely love it.

Graverobber by Daniel Alhadeff 2021-04-26T04:16:12Z

Really liked the game, the lag when fighting near the end made things a little difficult and those little dudes were by far the hardest enemy to deal with. I'm not sure if you win by killing the King skeleton at the end or not since I couldn't do it but I loved how the fighting evolved with the combo-style attacks once you opened enough graves (?) or however it unlocked. Really cool concept!

Bottomless Pitfall by emanvidmaker 2021-04-26T04:51:42Z

I got to 62! Fun game, definitely the kind of thing I'd play on my phone. Would be nice with an integrated score board, really reminds me of those kinds of games you share with friends and try to beat each others scores. Great job!

Deep in the Forest by CodeGlitch0 2021-04-26T04:29:33Z

Cool mechanic, with some obstacles to avoid and maybe some speed power ups or something this would feel like a complete game, especially on mobile or something. I loved the way the vines swung around and deformed as well, looks nice.

RRRR U Scared ? by Chalivat Quentin 2021-04-26T07:59:02Z

The game menu looked really impressive. The in game felt like a modern n64 title. High praise. I'm pretty sure the enemy boats were cheating with auto aim and the kraken was kind of a push over but the music and art design is really good. I think people who like boat games will really love this, I think you guys did a really fantastic job!

DESCENT by Zephi_Sero 2021-04-26T03:18:00Z

i made it to depth of 10,000 and i have more money than god

Center of the Earth by Firekeeper Games 2021-04-26T07:32:36Z

Interesting idea, idk if it is just REALLY hard or if I am missing something but I got to the 2nd level and couldn't beat it. I'm guessing you didn't have time to finish the boosts (they don't seem to do anything) but it's a cool concept. It felt like you had to memorize the layout of the level before you could move on since I felt like by the time I could see which way I needed to go it was already too late. I think if the ball fell a bit slower but had some cool effects to make it feel fast (like a audio cue that was going higher in higher in pitch the faster you fell), then you could go at a speed that was controllable and still feel like it was super fast. Or something, idk, maybe I just suck :D

River Ravager by PatrickJR 2021-04-26T06:49:37Z

The shooting feels really good, the death sounds are chunky and glorious. The game felt a bit impossible after restarting (there was like 40 enemies on screen or something) but if you had an upgrade system and some different environments, this would feel like a proper complete game. Very polished, very well done, excellent entry, very fun!

Bat and Spider Cavern by Greg the Egg 2021-04-26T04:34:20Z

The art was good, the sound was good, it gave a nice atomosphere, especially when it got darker. I think this game has a lot of potential with some more AI work and maybe some more interesting challenges to keep things from getting repetitive. Solid concept, would like to see a more built out version!

Shovel Shovel! by Smoothi3 2021-04-26T03:58:32Z

...I made it to the core. It started as a simple journey into other peoples games, it quickly turned into the adventure of a lifetime. Me, and my trusty 116 other helpers, made our trek into the final layer. We didn't expect it to the be the final layer, we had grown accustomed to celebrating the layer changes. After all, the layer changes were the only comfort we had grown to know. The last 3 million or so miles? meters? I don't even know anymore, were a blur. We lost a few good men and women along the way. But when we reached the core, we had only one burning question: how do we get out of this hole?

Where is Bob by ubershmekel 2021-04-26T06:00:47Z

Loved it, the sound design leading you to bob is one of the coolest things I've seen in a game in a while. Yes, I'm on a first name basis with bob now.

Great game 5/5 will never, ever, play it again. Never.

Magic Forest by RuslanCH 2021-04-26T06:09:22Z

For what it was, it was pretty good. I think you can get to 4 hearts even though it only displays 3, but that is kind of a fun thing to figure out. The music was fitting, felt chill, after a while it made me feel a little sleepy but in a good way!

Gold Digger by ThatmanRobin 2021-04-26T04:25:12Z

What I learned today is that I do not have the qualifications necessary to drive this rig. I think I spent most of my time on my back but at least the thing kept on drilling! I'm not convinced there is gold in these here parts and I'm hanging up my hard hat, but I wish nothing but the best of luck to those who come after me in this gold rush.

Damn, that's deep! by Falke 2021-04-26T08:31:14Z

Fun game, very challenging. My best run I got to the three big jumps that were raised up, almoooooost made it and plop. No idea how far away the end is, the game felt endless, which kind of fits the theme and is cool for a game like this. For those who like to master pointless things, a lot of fun could be had here.

Pigs War by sharkmax218 2021-04-26T07:45:37Z

I was in tears before the game even started. The levels were an unexpected challenge, fun to figure out. Would have really liked to replay the current level when you lose instead of having to replay from the beginning since they took a while to play out, or maybe have a restart level option since some of the losses really sneak up on you. But the opening video takes the cake, that is the funniest thing I have ever seen in a ld game, ever, when those slow bullets came out I was done lmao. Really great job!

Dash To The Core by GreyBeetle 2021-04-26T03:22:35Z

I liked the art style, very retro. A little short but with some more levels it would a nice fleshed out old NES style game, felt very polished.
