I really like this game, I think it could use a little more instruction around what the different squares mean. Really cool take on the looping mechanic. I'll be back to rate, and play some more :)

Interesting idea for a game. It took me a second to understand what exactly my goal was at first then I got the second block type and realized where the depth was going to come in. This game looks very nice (although not gonna lie I'm using fLux so everything had a bit of a yellow tint to it right now and it definitely effected my game play, but again thats my fault.) Everybody on the team that made this should give themselves a big pat on the back for managing to actually make a good, nice looking, and enjoyable game with such a poor theme.
Definately could do with a little more instructino on what to do at the start but a really cool idea and great polish level for 48 hours work. Good Job!
I was a bit confused at first what I had to do (mostly because you only had 1 type of blocks at the start - and it was impossible not to get a tetrominoes ^^). But once more block types came into play along with (random?) powerups it was really fun. Interesting implementation of the theme. :D
A great, original idea that is also well-polished. Could make for a great timekiller on a phone.
Very nice game and original concept. in my first run I quickly got "stuck in a loop". but after some try I achieve to reach 411 points. Sometime you can't place your tile with precision because the cursor is before the effective place of the tile.
Solid game. Enjoined much. The moment i thought "they could make at least x2 for the time I played" developers gave me x2. Great gamedesign.
Cool concept. You should add in a check to see if you are trapped. It happened to me a few times. Good stuff.
Nice job overall. I did get stuck a few times, in part because it was hard to time placing a tile and, when that happened, I would have to wait for the game to time out. Other than that, it is an original take on the theme and a very fun game.
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
I misplaced a lot of the blocks because I thought I was one tile further ahead, and because I couldn't distinguish the different block types on the map easily enough. That said, I could have looked at the queue for that, but I guess I was too focussed on the map, though the time would definitely have allowed for it. I liked the audio feedback about the different block types. Some time in after misplacing a few blocks I always found myself just hitting space more and more without thought, maybe I had already given up? This still gave me quite a few tetrominoes though. This is definitely a game I would spend more time playing, I like it a lot. Thank you for making it :)
- I like the concept a _lot_, and it made sense immediately. - Please take my criticisms to be evidence that I liked the game and wanted to provide feedback, because I do really, _really_ like the idea! - Technically speaking, the movement around the blocks is very well done and I imagine was not very easy to build.
Once I started playing, I thought maybe I didn't understand the concept. Turns out I was right, but I realized my confusion was because of a few things: - The blocks being placed _behind_ the crosshair confused me. Because the crosshair moves but the ghost doesn't, the crosshair is what my brain naturally focuses on. Once I "shut off" my brain thinking about the crosshair at all, it become much clearer. - I couldn't figure out if the explosion & screen shake when you clear blocks meant I was doing the "right" or "wrong" thing.
- All of the arrows around the blocks are visually very busy.
I imagine that this is because they are implemented as distinct sprites aligned next to each block, rather than one continuous "line" - which makes perfect sense.
In essence, you are communicating 2 things: The path, and the direction.
You could communicate the path with a simple line, or maybe a "glow" effect rotated to line up against each tile.
As for direction, is it necessary to actively communicate it? Since the crosshair always travels counter-clockwise, maybe it's enough to just show the path?
You could also use something like colorizing the path parts in order to communicate direction, assuming they are stored in order, so that way you still avoid the need to draw the path continuously.
- Different tiles are hard to distinguish, visually - maybe increase the contrast? - Game takes quite a while to lose even when pressing space non-stop - After you get "stuck", you have to wait until time runs out before you can "lose" (Figuring out when a player is "stuck" might be hard - maybe just creating a "suicide" button would help?)
Overall, a great idea, and great work!
Hey everyone, thanks for the kind words! Not a lot of free time right now (and whatever there is goes to rating other games), but we'll take the feedback into consideration, especially @brandoncimino's very well thought out ideas.
Thanks again!
Really enjoyed the unique concept and the link to the theme was quite subtle but definitely strong especially after the first few times I dind't know what I was doing and got stuck! Found it a little tricky at first to place blocks where I wanted them but I got used to the movement pretty quick with the feedback being really nice as well.
Super fun game, great idea of combinations our heads go crazy until we get the hang of it, simple and very beautiful this one of congratulations, I follow you on itch, thanks for providing a very happy moment!
This is a great puzzler, a simple concept that can unfold into very complex situations. I hope we'll see more of it.
Really fun and basic game! It reminds me of tetris a little bit, super easy to grasp, super easy to play, and well made! Great job all around.
Really really cool concept. I had a little trouble playing at first and there are a few things that would help make it more enjoyable.
The red X combined with the next tile being transparent made it difficult to see what the current tile is and place it precisely. I think that should be extremely visible and obvious because it is critical to forming a shape and must be timed appropriately as well. I would also have found it helpful if the special tiles stood out more in the list of upcoming tiles, having them sparkle or pulse or something. It would be helpful to have a "speed up" button too or something.
I think it's really fun as is! With a little tweaking I think your puzzle game could really shine and it would be worth developing further. I'm really happy I got to play this one!
The sound and graphics fit perfectly for this kind of game. +1 to all the people who were confused by the block who seems to be placed "behind" the crosshair.
The main idea is great. But it lacks all the "side-things" you could expect in this kind of game : achievements, statistics, quests, more bonus, more special tiles, tweaked game modes, ... Without any of these, your game is very interesting, but during a limited time only.
Very interesting game. Probably the most innovative that I've played. At first it seemed overly simple but as the new title types came in it really opened up. I like how you made one-button controls work so intuitively.
Only really have a few suggestions: - Show the players acceptable tetrominos on-screen during game. - Maybe have powerup earned from specific tetrominos? Like, a line one shows up in a separate window in the corner, and if they specifically make that one, it'll double points?
This is an awesome concept! Took me a bit to understand, but once I got it, it was super fun
This is a fantastic little game! Well done!
great concept, great art style, nice mechanic.. Good job!!
really interesting concept, but maybe too minimal, i think that a little more controle for the player would be nice, but only you can decide this ;). good job !
really good!
