oh god, I should have read the manual -)

Woah, this is super rad! Very Shenzhen I/O (or other Zachtronics games). A little laggy but cool you managed to get this out.

Wow it was quite impressive. Love the concept! Perhaps a better tutorial for the printscript since you had to go back and forth and remember all the commands. I liked the conversations as well :D nice touch.

Exactly what I wanted after 2 days of straight programming, more programming! /s

Seriously though this game is really cool!

Really cool, just didn't have the patience after making my own game! Having the manual and the printer on the same screen would make things a lot less tedious (Like how I've always got the unity reference on my other monitor!)

So many great little touches, plus an engaging, challenging, puzzle game to boot!!

Wow this is epic for a weekend game jam! It's so impressive that you put up all these together. Loved the concept and more programming. One minor issue was that on my computer the quit button on the top right of manual doesn't seem to work as expected. Only small part of it is clickable.

walaber 2019-10-07 15:57

I added a button to the print app that displays the manual direclly (and goes back to the print app when you dismiss it), as well as addressed the "manual's quit button is hard to click" issue. I also added a pop-up when your script has an error, that should help track down issues a bit more.

Thanks all for the feedback so far!

You really have to read the manual to understand :) Moreover, the inverted scrollbar is disturbing. After its a good appropriation of the theme, WelDone!

As someone who isn't the best at coding, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

But seriously though, this is a pretty cool game! Probably great for teaching people the bare fundamentals of coding and how to handle problems in a smart way. I mean, I could have probably won the game drawing the objects manually, but the shapes you decided on did make me consider what the best way to tackle them was! I like the whole aesthetic of the game in general; well done with the messaging system and the printing machine! Really cool to see my 'creation' in action! And yes, I finished the game, if Carlos is the last one to give you a quest.

Be thankful that other game developers are the ones who are playing this game, otherwise this would be an unreasonable barrier of entry for some XD Well done!

This is a well implemented game, great job.

I love 3d printing, so this is quite funny^^

But I think you got two mistakes in your manual: where you explain the for-loop you wrote "for int 1 = 0, 10" instead of "for i = 0, 10" and in the next example you made a "." instead of an ",". Also, the scrolling bar is upside down. I understand that there is no autocompleting but only colouring the methods, if they are typed correctly, would make live a lot easier - maybe for a post jam version or so.

Besides of this, it's super cool!

walaber 2019-10-11 06:32

Thanks for the notes, you're right on all of them! especially the "for int I" thing, I'm just too used to C/C# I guess, my hands had a mind of their own :P

Great stuff, always wanted to practice LUA before writing WoW macros. Very cool concept and it even gave me some thoughts about issues with real 3D printing. Love the personas, the worldbuilding and how even after hundreds of years people still talk the same way in messengers :D

I had a great time being terrible at this. Making this over a weekend is an incredible achievement. Well done.

frenchie 2019-10-12 06:14

I really enjoyed this! I'm a programmer so it felt pretty natural to me. I wish there were more levels! I sent it to my nephews, who I think will also get a blast seeing what they can make out of this  Biggest complaint was the typo in the manual with `i = 0. 7`. Please fix so others don't get as confused!

manomeu 2019-10-20 07:54

Really nice!

walaber 2019-10-20 22:59

updated the in-game documents to properly show the syntax for "for loops".
