The gunplay felt quite good and the graphics was nice. I would suggest some sort of audio feedback after hitting an enemy to provide a bit more satisfaction and polish. Otherwise, well done!

This is a very fun prototype! The intro is hilarious (though should be skippable after first play so as to not be frustrating after dying). Gun mechanics were chunky and fun to play with. I died to the dual ghosts first, then to the massive horde!
@pinosaur Thank you greatly for your feedback! Yeah, I was being a dummy and tried to crunch in the audio and polish in the last two hours before the submission time... You can see how that turned out LOL! Thank you again for playing, though!
@changemewtf That's awesome to hear, it sincerely made my face light up! I messed up a bit with the intro being unskippable, and I'm not sure on the rules to tweaking your submission after the deadline (bugs and what not), but thank you so much! And I know exactly what part you died at! ;)
Intro made me laugh out loud :dog: The gun sounds are a little too treble-y for my taste, needs more thud!
Reminds me of The Escapists a little
SUPER CUTE INTRO. The graphics were adorable.
Love the visuals. Gun VFX are great, nice camera shake too. Movement feels a little chunky sometimes, especially when I'd kinda freeze against a collision object, rather than sliding past it. Overall quite nice.
Died in the room with the zombie horde rolled in. Had a hard time imagining what I'd do differently, and felt like a lot to replay.
mfw you introduced the concept :-|
Have full marks for theme, you bastard
@james-beninger Thank ya very much. ;)
Well. Couldn't finish the game, unfortunately. Still, I think I get the idea, unless I'm missing some hilarious ending or final boss fight...
Premise and art is pretty good, despite how simple it is, so props to you for that! The shooting is hella satisfying, and there's blood everywhere with every shot. Doesn't seem to be well-balanced, though... The enemies hitboxes are smaller than their sprites, meaning half my shots miss unless I'm aiming directly down their center... which is difficult when it comes to the white runners. A circular hitbox for the player might help with the problem of getting stuck on edges, which happened quite a bit and killed me once or twice. The super-horde room is where I keep getting stuck at, where neither the shotgun nor the machinegun were adequate weapons to kill multiple runners at a time in such a small area.
Also, at the start of the map, the game lags like HELL on my laptop! I have to wait for thirty seconds or so before the game starts running like normal, and I have to sit through the lag each time I respawned. Also, I noticed that during glitchy moments, the whole floor shifts a bit, which reveals that you may have set every floor tile individually instead of just using one big plane... That might explain why I'm lagging so hard.
Technical issues aside, the gameplay is really fun, and I like the design choice of making zombies invisible until they have direct line of sight to you. Can't predict where they'll pop up from, which makes it all the more exciting! All in all, a strong first entry. Good job!
LMAO I love the adaption of the theme :') good job!
@justinooncx Thanks for the incredible feedback! I did have a lot of trouble with the movement and collisions, so hearing the circular hitbox thing--it seems like genius to me. And reading the comments, I realized the horde *might* be a little too much lol. Yeah, I was not able to get too much testing and balancing done, so it's awesome to get feedback like this.
And I've also been trying to fix the lagging at the beginning, where I can say for certain it's not the tiles that cause the lag, but it's actually the enemy pathfinding, so I'll have to fix that bug when I have the time, but I like the idea of using a big plane.
Thanks again for spending your time playing and writing this... and to the final boss inquiry... I've got nothing to say. ;)
man i have a lot of fun until i got into the horde room xD yeah it's quite unbalanced there, but the game is really really funny to play!
Hi - just played the game.
I love how the gun works, it's really, really fantastic. The only thing with that is when buying new guns it would be nice to have a visual indicator (I had no idea I was using the shotgun until I started killing zombies with it.) The art is really cute, it's a nice cohesive art style.
I did encounter some pretty bad lag, especially at the start.
I also personally really like the meta narrative, it was fun. I really enjoyed your entry, congrats on finishing!
The intro was hilarious. For whatever reason the beginning lagged horribly but slowly got better and better. Enjoyed the upgrade system. Shooting zombies was satisfying. Overall, really good job!!!
very cute
Good Intro with great Shooting effect. Is it lagging or is it just me?
@coldsanwdich189 No, that's my fault. I'll actually be uploading a bugfix ( 'cause I'm a zombug slayer, myself ;) ) in a few minutes here. Thanks for playing, though!
I loved the introduction and the art style. The minimalism works very well. The sound effects and blood splatters were also very nice. One thing that was a little annoying was that when linking a computer the zombugs would spawn before I was able to close the computer screen and properly see them to shoot. Otherwise, great work! :)
Ha! Very funny use of the theme right at the beginning!
Pretty impressed with the look and feel of the game in general, nice work for the amount of time you had.
2 technical notes: 1. It would be easier to deal with the oncoming horde when you link a computer if you immediately close the menu when that button is pressed. I died a few times trying to fight with the menu still up! 2. Looks like the character sprite stops moving sometimes. My guess is that it's due to the character's box collider clipping on the square tilemap colliders. I think this can be remedied by making the character's collision box ever so slightly rounded on the corners and setting its friction to 0.
Very cool game. Once I got shotgun I was unstopable.
I got confused at the end. Nothing happened in the room ;(
At first I didn't know how much $ I had, it was a bit too small. Maybe put it next to the health bar?
Sound was a bit too loud. I had problems adjusting it to be at correct volume.
I'd play it again if you made more levels with new enemies and weapons.
Fun, i loved tiny zombies. Where is the boss ? Some problems with wall colliders. Good job !
@ryzy27 @technsmile I'm glad you guys had fun, and thanks so much for the feedback! I'll be sure to try to adjust these things! And darn I thought I fixed the boss spawn, but I'll have to do some more testing. It's awesome you guys made it there, though, I think you guys may be the first ones!
I had really good time playing your game, it's simple but effective, game feel is there too, screenshake, great shot sound, nice looking bullet, decal after hitting an enemy and some kind of fog of war, upgrades. nice game : )
At the beginning, it lagged very much, but after 15 seconds it stopped. This is in a web browser. And I didn’t understand what to do after a certain time, I don’t understand where to get the door keys and I started calling zombies in all the boxes and then a horde of zombies attacked me and killed me instantly. And also weapons on Damage / AS are not equivalent.
@paulsams Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it! But just a question: when were you able to play the game? I think I made a hotfix for the lagging, but maybe it didn't update or something?
But awesome feedback, and I'll be sure to make things much more clear. And I'll definitely work on balancing things!
I found this to be thoroughly enjoyable. The gameplay is fun and rewarding, the humor and theme are on point, and the graphics and audio were great. I thought the zombugs disappearing after being out of sight for a bit was a great detail too. Wonderful work!
The guns felt pretty satisfying, but the movement and collisions could use some polishing. Overall a good job!
HAHAHAHA the beginning had me ROFL - that was really great - you made my day. Great job on the game my only critique would be the player movement felt a little sluggish and I had some issues with colliders. The rest of the game was great for a game jam so nice work!
The combat is fun and satisfying, graphics are cute, good job!
Killing enemies is very satisfying, but I really don't like how they spawn right on your face, especially the speedy ones that kill you fast, it doesn't give you enough time to react. The controls also feel kinda laggy, like when you stop pressing the button it takes a second to stop. Nevertheless it was fun. One thing though, I connected all the computers and entered the room, and there is nothing there. Did I win?
@fupi Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll try to fix the controls being laggy, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. And it's a bummer the "boss" doesn't spawn, but I think I fixed that in the newest hotfix, but thanks for bringing that up to me! ;)
it was super fun and i liked the minimalistric graphics. would've been nice to have some checkpoints though
Very fun to play! Could not get past the zombie horde room lol. If anyone finishes the game please let us know what happens at the end. Nice design and execution on the gunshots and upgrade system. Firing on zombies and seeing splashes everywhere bring instant gratification. Great job!
A minor point: may want to spend some more time on colliders. There seems to be some collider issue on both the walls and the enemies.
