Wow, this is a huge piece of art. I really loved the graphics, sounds ambiance and the mood. But did i'v done something wrong ? After arriving to the dad's boat, i returned at the beginning. It was entended ?
Just a few points you could enhance : - The camera is jittery when the main charcter finishes his animation of walking. It's really breaking the immersion in the game :/ - I had some bugs on the villages were signs made sounds of writting but nothing appeared
This is so nice, congratulations for all the hard work ! Maybe try my game, i tried to make a great ambiance and mood too :)
@antoined73 No, you did nothing wrong. You basically started "level 2" (there are 4 levels in total). We have not made it clear that you are retelling the story (though there are subtle hints), and it was one of our late concerns that we didn't get time to clarify.
That was beautiful! Great art and sound! However, the camera issue mentioned before is definitely breaking the immersion for me. Great work!
@lukewaffel Thank you so much! Can't wait to get home from work and try out some of the other games for myself. Yes, we are definitely aware of the camera issues, it's been on the bug list since early Saturday, but was one of those "pick your poison" issues, where it got que'd down (because it was sorta working) until there was no more time left.
@kjetil Oh okay i see. Yeah maybe you should change position of objects in the environnement at the start of the level 2, or make a different speech bubble. I'll retry it then :)
@antoined73 Yes, absolutely. Definitely a case of getting blinded by working at micro level here. The simplest solution would obviously just radically changing or adding a few props at the spawn on level 2. But didn't (don't) want to touch anything code related after deadline had passed... Not sure how the rules are regarding that, this is our first Ludum.
@kjetil Of course you can ! But you have to let the ludum dare link and add another and explicitely say that this is not the ludum dare version but a version enhanced after the feedbacks i guess :)
this was the only ludum dare gme that made me emotional. please make a series
That's a huge compliment, thank you! :D
This is really quite unique for a LD game, maybe even touching...
A quick thought: how about speeding up the text a bit?
The game is beautiful! Great mood and imersive. Good work!
@binaryspark Thanks man! Text speed is noted, really easy to get blind on such things when your working on it, even though I set it up very early to text speed a global variable.
@plepletier Thanks a lot!
Included iOS version does not work - even with a keyboard.
I can only give rating to music, as macOS version is truly iOS and is not playable at all on macOS.
Whoa the art work was mindblowing. I think the stop motion thing should have been applied to background more to get the feel right. Great work guysC:
@jakub-panek , @kamilko Thanks for clarifying this! I'll look into it!
This looks amazing! Awesome work!)
Great Artwork - well at my laptop it runs a little bit slowly at all (nvidea geforce 940m). But i could enjoy a little bit of this world.
It has incredible artwork and a cool gameplay. so keep going on^^
The style is pretty stunning and the overall mood is immersive. I didn't reach the end, but i enjoyed what i saw. Good work!
wow, solid entry! A rare take on the theme. The art was very uniqe and the sounds just added opon that. Im not sure if the platformer-esq addition fit the game. To me it would have played out better if i just recived it as a visual novel. But that could just be me since i died from the birds and the rocks about 7 times. Unfortunetly there were som bugs that made me miss some of the content :/ I never got the see the "buillies" but they were mentiond in text. Some of the textfields just showed up for a fraction of a second and all i got was the scribling sound. There were also some texts where the entirety of the text did not fit/scroll so i missed a few line. All in all great work!
Such a beautifull graphics! You made a great job. But on my laptop it works slow( So sad
Its so nice to see all the feedback, thank you very much! :D We didn't get to performance test it too much, but that's something we'll have more in mind next time!(and maybe catch less bugs too :P)
I don't know what to do with the files I unzipped from the MacOS download. It looks like a bunch of iOS stuff. I have a Mac laptop and an Android phone. Your screenshots are beautiful and really made me want to play the game.
NOOOOOO!!! The game bugged out after I was stuck in a falling state and couldn't reset! I really wanted to see how it was going to end, I made it up to the great grandfather part. In all seriousness, this is an AMAZING game! I was so immersed in everything, the stylised graphics, the wonderful music, the interesting story, the great sound effects (I really got a Zelda vibe). The only problem was there were so many bugs!!! I remember I actually managed to rise into the sky when colliding with the invisible wall barriers. Some text weren't appearing sometimes which was a real shame! Despite this, the game managed to keep me playing for reasons above. Overall, GREAT GAME! Really love it, exceptional work you guys. My highest rating I've given throughout all my ratings!
@jakub-panek , @kamilko and @wrenpirate there should be a new macOS build up now. Hopefully that one will work!
@karseth yes, now macOS build working. However, for those who play on mac - don't press Esc before you finish the game ;) :)
Thank you all for the wonderful feedback :) Soaking it all in so that we can make a better game next time around.
Wow. What a piece of art.
Congratulations, this is about the deepest story I've ever seen in an LD entry. Graphics are stunning, and animation style is utter unique. Music is also fitting and very moving.
Even though this is a walking simulator with not a lot of mechanics I would consider this one of my all time favorites, and easily the best game I've played this LD. And there were other great ones!
An utterly beautiful game, story and experience.
Only bad thing I have to say about it is the ending music. It could have been a bit more calm like the rest.
Best mood so far, I especially love how the water looks, well done !
Love the look of the trippy water. The game has some great mood tho I have to admit going the same path for the 3rd time was too much for me :(
Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

Like the rest are saying, this game looks really beautiful! When suggestions though would be to turn down the motion blur a little bit. Gameplay wise I feel like there is something lacking, but I think it is hard to accomplish something really immersive and interesting in the amount of time and with your scope. I really like the mood of the game and like the world that you have created. Great job!
One of the most impact-full LD entries from this batch. I like you interpretation of the theme and the presentation of dementia. The amount of 3D assets are very impressive for a jam and the visual style combined with the sound design really draws you into the game. It really is more of an experience rather than a game, but that's not a bad thing at all, exploring the potential of the medium!
Very interesting take on the theme. I really enjoyed the story aspect, visuals were very nice. The exaggerated stride in the walk cycle kind of threw me off at first, but as I got to playing, I began to see it as pretty fitting to the "excited kid on his way fishing". I grew up in the country(still live in the country too), and went fishing a lot as a kid, so it hits pretty close to home. Great job!! :)
All those precious memories fading away..
Nice game! interesting graphics
This is a lovely concept and I think the changes between each level played out well. In terms of feedback, I'm not sure I can say anything you haven't already heard, but I definitely would have appreciated the option to speed up text somehow, and I found the running animation a bit jerky (or not matching the movement speed). Other than that, great job getting this done in the time limit!
