I love the dark humour on this one. Also a good concept to try and earn money so you can decimate the population, but also not go overboard with it. I was doing good until I tried the plane and... I guess glitched the game?woops.png
This game has possibly some of the darkest humour I've ever seen in a video game. Super scary! It's exceptionally fun though. My only suggestion would be to make the UI a bit easier. Maybe list out all of the abilities on the bottom row (kind of like an MMORPG), with players buying and upgrading them from there (like in League of Legends, where when your character levels up you can upgrade a skill by pressing the "+") button above the skill.
Other than that, great game :)!

Good work, I really like this game!
Interresting game idea but not quite fitting the theme because the reason for escaping is the meteor not running out of space. Nevertheless I really like the structure of the game but maybe I am very bad or its really hard to get a higher death rate then birth rate. Overall its quite nice.
Very nice game! Reminded me a bit of plague inc which I loved and so I loved this game here :-) I am not sure I understood all effects and if upgrades are better or can also make it worse. For some reason I could not get the death rate up although I triggered all effects I had. Still, really cool entry and great job! Does it also support VR as SteamVR popped up for me? Even nicer then!
I really like the core of what's offered here. The concept itself is super fun, and it's the reason I tried 3 to 4 times to actually finish the game. The biggest disappointment is the fact that most of the upgrades seem to be broken. Every time I upgraded an ability it seemed to get worse rather than better. And worse yet, the game was not balanced incredibly well. On my play through where I actually won I bought the upgrade for poisoning corn, and use that exclusively to finish. It seems like you guys put a lot of work into this game, and that much is obvious, I'm just sad there wasn't more time for you to playtest, and make sure all of the kinks were sorted out, because had that been the case this game would've been really fantastic. Regardless of that you guys still did a good job, and I had a fun time playing the game! I think the fact that the game showed so much promise made the serious issues that much more obvious. Again, good job, and I can't wait to see what you all make for LD 43.
The concept is fun, but it's too difficult, I think. The humor is cool. It's a solid entry, I'm pretty sure you had fun making this game!
Very dark, but honestly a pretty fun game. great submission!

I'm getting fatal error when launching the game :|
I managed to build the rocket in 2093 with my fourth try. Visually top, it would be cool if something happens in the city when one applies an effect (particles, soundeffects, etc.)
There was one thing that bugged me in my other tries: I noticed that the upgrade system did not work as intended. The signs say something like '(+30 % with next lvl)' but when you buy an upgrade the value from before gets **multiplied by 30 % = 0.3** (instead of by 1.3 for an increase). For example: Chemtrails 8.0% death reate * 30% = 2.4% death rate for the next lvl. This way all 'upgrades' are in fact downgrades. I then simply decided to buy no upgrades anymore and I was able to beat the game. Maybe this was also an issue for @jk-studio , @heidelbert
Cool game! Indeed reminds of Plague inc. Especially liked neat interface. + possibility to rotate around and look on the city. + down-pouring water + nice building animations + overlay with exlanations. On the other side - I believe there is a bug - upgrading a skill diminish its effect. - using a skill does diminish it's effect - is this planned? - There is no interaction with the city-scene, it just illustrated number of people. It is great illustration, but still it would be great to interact with it. Cool entry!

Music was quite jolly which I guess makes sense considering the new world order and all I liked the premise and you executed it rather well however it did seem that whenever I upgraded a button it would get worse and worse I don't believe that would be intentional but I managed to beat the game by just spraying lv1 chemtrails on them so I can't complain I love the humour and overall the game was great pat yourselves on the back for this one.
@matzetoni @alexkishchinskiy @rammy294 @shafournee Thanks for your Reports! We already worked on that, but we aren't sure if we are allowed to upload the fix after submission hour! We are glad to hear that our first Ludum Dare Game + Our fist finished game ever turned out that well. Thanks you all for testing, reporting, and rating!

@humpert764 I would play it safe perhaps have on the itch.io site an updated version as well as the original jam version so that people can get the full experience of your game while also knowing how it look at submission.

Seemed difficult to understand at first, but very quickly got the hang of it. I think the meteor timer should be simplified a bit. But other than that well done!
So we now fixed the level-up bug (literally just one missing +1). I couldn't keep both versions of the game, so I overwrote the old version (there was no explanation how to do it so I assume there is no way). Since the rules of the Jam aren't as strict, I hope it won't be an issue, otherwise I'll reupload the old version.

Nice idea guys ! I liked it. If anything I would say that it lacks of action you are often waiting and just looking at your screen. But nice job guys !
@zykroma that was our problem too... First, so we implemented a speed up button in version 1.0. You can press V and see the population decimation even faster!
I'm sick and tired of them putting chemicals in the water that ~~turn the friggin' frogs gay!~~ help stop the population growing!
Dark humour, funny concept, well executed and and original take on the theme. Reminded me of that mobile game where you spread viruses. Graphics were nice, though they could do with a little bit of refinement. Good job!

The game has a few balance issues with the options you have available. The drug upgrade is basically all you need in order to win. You let the population grow and every now and then trim it back. I didn't find myself using any of the other upgrades.
The background music was nice, it was a lot of waiting and just watching a number. The ending is also a bit anticlimactic.
@aaranos how do you mean anticlimatic? We thought about adding animations like a starting rocket or the comet hitting eath (which weren't possible to implement in the short time). Is that what you imagined?

Graphics impressed me! I like humor of this game haha. Maybe make money earning a little bit faster, but otherwise really nice entry. Keep it up!
@borys we try to make it faster! Also, we think about updates for longtime player motivation... Thanks for all your playing, rating and comments guys!

Amazing game. Can clearly see you put a lot of love in this game. Would be a shame to not make a complete game out of this.

I really liked the game. Models were really nice too. But here are some things I noticed: - The plane chemtrail upgrade is quite OP for its price - It said that the meteor would crash in April of 2118 but I made 2 bil. in August or something and it still let me build a rocket so I guess this is a bug - Number rounding is sometimes broken so it says like 23.0000001% so that's just a minor bug :P - And I missed the camera rotation
Good job!
@nufflee @roidz thanks for playing, rating and your nice comments! We try to improve our game and actually have a long list with a bunch of things to improve and/or integrate. So thank you for your bug report! I'm going to add this... those tiny things are easy to fix. Further along, you can rotate your camera with *A/D* or *<-/->*, but a full 360-degree look around isn't possible because you have to use the mouse in the interface, not in the camera. But of cause, we try to make it as intuitive as we can!
Thanks everyone for the feedback! We didn't have time to update/fix anything in the last few days, but we now reuploaded the original version as it was originally released. It's called "THRM_original_release.zip", the version with the fixes and everything is called "THRM.zip".
