Wow, this could be a great game. It is unfortunate that you couldn't get the whole thing done. There is definitely a lot of potential here

jack-maxwell 2017-12-06 01:42

Wow, just wow! With a little more work this will be a fantastic game! Text font is a little boring but the particles are breath-taking

kogasilverdragon 2017-12-06 01:58

Looking pretty good! I just loved the voxel graphics! <3

nardandas 2017-12-06 02:06

The game looked really beautiful and the music was nice. The mood was set really well. Sadly, I was unable to enter the third world!

nammflow 2017-12-06 02:31

This looks like a lot to attempt for a Ludum Dare! I love the idea of multiple personalities as "The more you have it, the worse it is." I also enjoyed the different abilities for your personalities. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get past the Starter World as it kept popping me out into the world map.

It would be interesting to see how you build upon your idea here. I could see this as the start of a Smite type game. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

gankei 2017-12-06 07:56

It is a nice game. And it seems like a meta game? I try not to follow the instructions, then something interesting shows to me hhh. When I am in the village, it is hard to move unless I jump.

artur-hawkwing 2017-12-06 15:53

I love the graphics and music!! This game has a ton of potential, and I would love to see where you can take it. I noticed that the player had difficulty moving the the second level--I had to keep jumping as if there were an obsatcle in front of me. I would have liked some walking / other dound effects as well.

But regardless, a very intriguiing and cool gamw!

notpresident35 2017-12-06 16:22

Decent entry. Needs more content though.

dimaswift 2017-12-06 16:23

I really enjoyed the graphics, audio, and overall mood. Well done! Very big potential. But it's too ambitious for a 48 hours run :) This is so relatable, couldn't finish my game as well.

miguel-montero 2017-12-06 16:28

Lots of potential.

shrapx 2017-12-06 16:33

Wonderful intro and voxel art in the character, and the worlds were enough detail. Its the scope of this game.. I think it would take a team, making it more doable as a jam entry. but whatever, it was fun to play. It was fun to read and watch and listen to the music, some zelda-like tunes in there. As the ending says, all you need to know is woopee!

aphid98 2017-12-06 16:58

The graphics are awesome! The gameplay is a little lacking and there were a few bugs (the starting world was pretty glitchey) but in all, with the time you had to make it, good game!

andreas-ragen-ayal 2017-12-06 21:43

I mean, you say the graphics aren't good, but you are mistaken. The graphic style of this game is incredible. It looks amazing. Don't sweat it.

I think KISS is a pretty good philosophy to jam by. There are a number of kinda simple stuff that would have made the experience a little better. First off: the camera. Screenshot 2017-12-06 23.32.26.png Screenshot 2017-12-06 23.33.59.png It clips through the floor and walls.

Second, while I LOVE the way you have text floating about, it's weird that it isn't oriented toward the player sometimes and in many cases is not oriented to the camera either: Screenshot 2017-12-06 23.34.11.png Screenshot 2017-12-06 23.33.23.png

And my last gripe, for some weird reason my PC likes faceplanting into the box: Screenshot 2017-12-06 23.34.25.png

But don't let my criticism dampen your spirits: The music you chose was awesome (though it cut off very suddenly) and I really like the art style and graphics. I hope you have the time to complete the game, because I would love to play it when it's ready. :)

P.S. Have a look at my game, if you have a minute. It's my first jam and so I'm shamelessly fishing for feedback.

muromets 2017-12-07 02:14

The game sure has potential, the intro was very nice, the music is great! Too bad you ran out of time, this could have been some great story :D

So, bugs / glitches appart, I would recomend lowering the cooldown of your attack, or at the very least, in the tutorial the punching box should die in no more than 3 hits, also maybe have the camera follow you allways from the back

hillexed 2017-12-07 03:02

I'd love if you could add some non-windows builds, because this game looks great visually and I'd love to play it!

kataware 2017-12-07 03:04

@hillexed I was planning on it and I completely forgot! Coming soon

blazen 2017-12-07 03:43

Wow, the game was amazing and the music was great, Well Done!

cogcomp 2017-12-07 06:30

Great graphics and great music. Very nice atmosphere. With a tad more game play this would be excellent!

emery 2017-12-07 07:19

I did enjoy your game, yet as others have said, if it was an actual completed game this would be a really cool game. I ran into most of the bugs you stated and was a shame the game was not completed. You should feel proud of your achievement because it was a fun game :)

nikorasuchan 2017-12-07 08:54

The world you've built certain looks nice. It looks like something out of an action adventure game. However, probably everyone has noticed it, the character randomly tilts down, sometimes even get stuck on the floor and I had to jump to keep moving. The visual and presentation is good, but still not polished enough. There are some serious lack of audio feedback and the UI looks really basic. Overall, I think if you had more time to work on this game, it would be great. The idea is great btw.

gomango999 2017-12-07 11:28

This game had a huge amount of potential, but sadly it seems you were unable really pull it off in the short time span. The first time I played, after talking to the elder, I lost the ability to look around with the mouse, as well as experiencing heavy shaking of the character as I walked. The second and third time, I had gained my new personalities, but the portal refused to open to take me to the world map. Not to mention the multiple times the character just stands at an angle for no reason. Quite unpolished.

I could definitely see glimpses of good game design and polish, from the character design, to the opening scene, to the effects of some of the attacks, but also, there was a lot of untextured, unpolished UI. This leads me to believe that you are good game developer, but simply picked a project to ambitious for yourself to make in 48 hours, consisting of multiple characters with different abilities, multiple worlds, and talking npcs. Coincidentally, "the more the you have, the worse it is" seems to be a very appropriate theme for why this game did not reach it's maximum potential. If you manage your time better, I will definitely look forward to your next game.

aruculadomal 2017-12-07 13:39

Amazing intro, felt great. I got stuck at the beginning or is it all? Seems like there is a lot of potential to explore on this one, sadly is feeling incomplete, but Nice work!

kataware 2017-12-07 23:53

@happysloth It’s beautiful ;)

alchemic 2017-12-08 05:13

Very nice! I love the art style. The gameplay definitely has a lot of potential. Taking on different personalities could lead to some really interesting combat scenarios and puzzles. Also, the music is really good!

Even though it's incomplete, it's still one of the best games I've seen so far (or at least one with the most potential). Good job!

samusoidal 2017-12-10 15:02

Well, I made it to the end. And was monumentally confused. While the graphics were good and the music was fantastic, the story (as you yourself have mentioned) is sorely unfinished, and the controls are very buggy. It has a lot of potential but I would have liked to see a completed introduction (like an extended Haven level) rather than two areas with confusing story and no gameplay. If you plan to develop this post-jam, let me know, though, because I would definitely play a completed version.
