Wohoo! I found the Bar. I really love Harvesting Games, they are always fun. Great Game!
1. Thing to learn is this Game, dont use the teleport skill at the bottom of the map :D

neat idea! There's a few thing I would change, first make it so you can restart the game without needing to restart the game. And then make oil a bit more common. But for being your second Ludum dare, Well done! And keep up the work ^^
Another cool and creative game I had the pleasure of playing and enjoying. **Overall game impression:** Really cool. The main menu looks absolutely beautiful while also being minimalistic. The Graphics overall are very pleasant and easy on the eyes which is a plus. Quite enjoyable game honestly but gets repetitive quickly as there's not much variation to game play. I do like the teleporting between planets and actually having to explore the environment around you. Very good overall.
**Suggestions and comments on improvement:** Adjust the sounds. The engine / drilling sound is on repeat nonstop and gets annoying fairly fast. The teleportation animation takes too long, can be cut in half and be fine. Overall A great game.
p.s. thanks for checking out my game as well. Appreciate it. Well done on your game.
I used the teleport at the bottom of the screen. It took a while lol.
Exploring games are great. I love having to discover what is behind the fog. This exploration game was very enjoyable for me.
Graphics were consistent and decent.
Sounds were good but too repetitive.
Overall very nice game !
Good game! I played it to the end. The teleport animation looks great :D
I found a little bug though. You can overflow the energy bar and block some of the ui.
Made the mistake of using the teleport near the bottom of the screen but I'm happy to see I'm not the only one lol. Great mechanic with uncovering the map, would have maybe liked to see another mechanic implemented to spice things up. Well done regardless. Also would have been nice to have a restart button unless I missed it.
Well done! Love the graphics, remind me of old Maxis games for some reason :)
It was a lot of fun to explore the worlds, but constantly mashing the arrow keys was a bit annoying. It would be nice if you could hold the key to move the harvester (slowly).
The sound was a bit repetitive, but it was not bad.
Nice!
Pretty cool! Tho it seems to be impossible to run out of energy after first location, as it doesnt reset.
I was about to comment on the bottom screen teleport, but I'm not going to... Ok? :) I'll have to say, your game should be on the theme of "Too much power" as it was very easy to just get loads of energy. The exploration was lovely, except for the continuous clicking of the keyboard. :D
Unfortunately the zip does not contain a build for mac, so I can't play the game from where I currently am :/
While not very challenging the game was very enjoyable, I ran into some bugs/issues but others have mentioned them and they're not big
Not extremely challenging but tranquil :P Liked it.
The last 15 minutes have been full of peaceful oil harvesting. It was beautiful. Also I found plutonium.
My only regret? Teleporting from the bottom of the map .
Overall this is a good game. I would have liked to see a little bit more difficulty since I ended up not having to worry about power at all. Though... at the same time that might be what made it so tranquil.
Also, I wonder if background music would have added to this game? Hmm... Maybe I should go for a second round with some classical music.
Either way, well done. It was fun exploring the various biomes and harvesting all the oil.
I encountered few bugs, although non was game breaking or anything so I won't take them to judgment :)
Just to let you know, you can way overfill your power bar + you can go diagonal when you press two keys at once (it neeeds its timing but it can be done).
Also, I think this was intentional but teleporting is kind of pain in the ass when you do it at the bottom :P
I need to commend using of something else than Unity or sth like that, always a nice thing to see :)

So for the review.
__Graphics:__ I liked your style. It felt consistent throughout and wasn't off-putting.
__Audio:__ Here I must say I felt some shortcomings. SFX got very annoying after some time, but I would adress this to not perfect sound system. If you could work more on it, it would have been surely better as many problems I had personally originated with when audio was played (it was quite inconsistent and damaged my experience). Also, music - I can't stress this enough in most games I played. Music really builds up an atmosphere, even when it is some atmospheric noise track or something.
__Gameplay:__ Well, I didn't found much of a challenge in this one and think it is lacking something. Other than that, game played nicely.
__Overall:__ This game has really some nice graphics. Although there could have been done more in the sound departnment and more content gameplay wise, I can imagine that was quite hard to manage in 48h along with the engine (at least it seems you've done some, correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, I had some fun with this one :)
Fun exploration game. I enjoyed driving my Mystery Machine around the map. I could almost imagine being asked to stop for Scooby Snacks. There was very little challenge, as others have said. I also should not have teleported from the bottom :-). The sounds for driving around were very repetitive, and there wasn't much to do other than hunt for oil. Some other kinds of choices, or enemies, or something, would have made it a little more engaging, but the core mechanic is fun. I like the scoring screen at the end, although I bailed early on the last two environments once my oil gauge was over-full.
Not bad. It's relaxing to drive around looking for oil. The sounds get old pretty fast though and repeatedly pressing the arrow keys to move gets pretty tiring on the fingers. It would be nice if you could just hold an arrow key and you would go in that direction.
Nice relaxing game, very very easy to the point that it's almost impossible to lose :grinning:
You should have put a limit on the max amount of energy, the bar goes over the limit and towards the end it was literally out of the screen :D
By the way, these are my scores: temp.png At the beginning i pressed teleport without knowing what it did, and towards the end I had so much energy that I was ignoring completely the resources.
Absolutely wonderful job if you took only 12 hours in making this. I don't know if I would have succeeded in that short time :D
Teleporting at the very bottom of my 1440p monitor was a big mistake! (the window size (possibly the world too?) seems to scale with your resolution?)
I hate to say it, but I think for me this game was lacking in some sort of element to make playing through it interesting. Running out of fuel never really seemed like a risk, so completing each map was just a matter of going through the motions of methodically exploring it without much strategy or necessity to particularly pay attention.
Judging from your list of "things I’d love to do", it seems like you've already thought of some ideas of how you could make it engaging. I think if some of those were implemented, then I would have found this game more enjoyable.
Fun little game. I quickly had way more energy than what I knew what to do with, so I just ran to the top of each level (to avoid the slow teleport animation...) and got all the way to mars, and eventually found the final extractable! Was satisfying exploring the map and extracting oil, would have enjoyed a bit more pressure (some chance of actually running out of power), and slightly more to do, though I appreciate all of the different background tilesets =).
@kthulhu1947 Really cool!
I liked:
The Graphics: They weren't the most high quality, but you did a lot of different stuff that got the point across. Overall I thought that game was interesting to look at.
The Sound FX: The sound effects were cool in that it made it feel like a classic ascii type game with a sort of industrial futuristic vibe.
I didn't like:
The Gameplay: Now I did like the idea of finding oil and exploring, but it felt a bit incomplete. It was kind of easy and simple, and I would have liked to have seen something more challenging or more dynamic (the barbarians you mentioned is a great idea).
Overall, really solid entry. Good luck!
Liked the game, but the sound of the engine was kind of annoying.
