DrPetter

Haha. Excellent!
The ever-present and developing AI narrative made it very much like a dramatic adventure rather than a random shooter. Some cheap bonus points in the end there for compo reference, but it's all good :P
Great timelapse too, music and dual monitors did a nice job of keeping it from becoming dull :)

triorph

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to shoot the B robots or not. Definitely liked the ending though very humourous

LoneStranger

It felt like THX-1138, Logan's Run and Adventure all rolled into one. It was nice having story in it to add another dimension. I have never played Portal, so I probably didn't get all the references, but it was an enjoyable experience even so.

sol_hsa

Fun, even if there's no cake =)

Uhfgood

I liked it... Hmm I may have to take another look at novashell.

dgriff

Played it through, I didn't get any of the references, but things were funny enough. No suggestions or complaints really, I enjoyed it.

HybridMind

Great little game. The narration was hilarious, I love the portal tribute / idea riffing etc. Funny LD48 sum up at the end with the food pics, journal pics and talking about your screen shots. I did die once, but once I upgrade my weapons a few times the game was basically an invincible shoot fest! ;) Nice for what it was and given the timeframe.

Wiering

Wow, that was one huge level!

pekuja

I really liked it. Gameplay was classic Robotron, and it was fun to listen to the GlaDOS-esque voice. Not sure how well this really fits the theme, but I guess it is fairly minimalist in the context of shooter games.
Good job on keeping a journal. Food looks good too. The music stops abruptly in your timelapse. :-[

keeyai

Fun game, and hilarious voice over ala portal. Here comes a cake related trophy...

Surrealix

2:40 for my run through. Too many portal references for my taste, it would have been fun to hear you try another direction with that voice, but regardless it added to the gameplay.

drZool

Kudos for gamepad control. You had me dig out mine.

mikeware

Good Fun. Enjoyed actually being able to beat the game.

phren

This was a pretty fun little game. It wouldn't have really worked without the sounds though. :P It was a bit on the easy side, would've liked a challenge. Getting to kill your coworkers was a nice little detail. :P

sgstair

I liked it a lot!
Oddly, my gamepad (wireless Xbox 360 controller) didn't map correctly initially, I had to modify the script mentioned in the readme.
Overall, very nice - long live portal references ;)

Hamumu

Really cool... it has inspired my next LD entry - I will strive to create a narrative experience next time instead of a bunch of random levels to play!

Three disappointments:
1 - Respect the lefty. WASD is extremely awkward for me! I had a really hard time moving, ended up sort of crawling along carefully blasting each guy (no, I can't really explain why my left hand is the one that is no good at manipulating arrow keys... maybe decades of practice with the right hand?)

2 - The way the story was set up and proceeded (and hyped in the journal!), I was expecting a big revelation at the end, and other than the pictures, it was sorely lacking. It kinda went nowhere.

3 - On a related note, as Surrealix said, I wish you had done something original with the speech stuff. Borrow the style of, and make references to, Portal, sure. That's cool, but it was almost like this was a (very) alternate version of that game rather than another story.

It was hilarious and game-breaking how your firepower expanded to epic proportions. The last gun appeared not to do anything though, it should've upgraded to 3-way death beam for ultimate ridiculousness.

I felt bad killing my brothers, there should've been some penalty for that. Or bonus for killing them all (which I did!). It was fun to push them around, though. When I got to the first enemy, I tried shoving a robot out in front of him to see if he'd attack that instead of me. Didn't work, but would've been cool if it did!

GBGames

I like how it mixed Berzerk with Portal. While I enjoyed all of the references to Portal, quite a few of the jokes were recycled from it, and it would have been nice if Evil Otto or whoever was talking would have had more jokes of his own.

I also expected a big reveal at the end. Was I going to find Evil Otto? I kept looking around outside of the maze and found...nothing.

I liked the part with all of the #8s bunched up in a corridor. Do you shoot them? No, they're just innocent robots. I pushed my way through to spare them. Little things like that part were cool because it let me decide what motives I would have in the game.

erik

Sort of like Berzerk. It's pretty cool to play with a gamecube controller. I want more.

philhassey

That was awesomer than awesome - it was, in fact, BZAWESOME! You achieved the "kept Phil's attention for more than 5 minutes" merit!! I'd play more of this if you made more. Things to do in your "more edition":

- Have more big bosses
- more interaction with the other robots

Good food journal, but I'm saving my 5 for the guy who had that disgusting pickle sandwich.

jolle

Yay, portalesque storytelling in an LD game. Definitely worth playing through. Actual gameplay fairly basic go-around-shoot-things, but mostly in a good way.

Good food pics, though some cake among them would have been good ;)

Bad thing: Continuous firing with fully upgraded weapon slows down the game very, very much, to taking seconds between screen updates.

pansapiens

Good game. Great sound. Humour. Must play it some more.

jlnr

Mmhhh Sapporo, a five for that! :P Truly great food photos.

I really really enjoyed it, and I haven't played a minute of Portal…actually reading that parts of this are recycled afterwards has made me a bit less euphoric. While it lasted, the evolving storyline worked for me, though.

It was nice playing an entry that wasn't a puzzler, had an interesting atmosphere and smooth controls, even on a laptop keyboard. Yay!

eugman

good game. Nice theme. Doesn't feel extremely innovative.

mariusz

I quite like games of this style, but it was rather short and easy. The end made me smile, though. I don't see how it's particularly minimalist, apart from the simple graphics. The game became jerky when I used the most powerful weapons (yellow circles).

The Linux version gave me a GLX error.

jovoc

Fantastic. And props for using the XBox gamepad, I give you full marks in technical just for that. This game had everything--story, personality, humor, weapons that got bigger, and even foodpics. This was a lot of fun.

mjau

This was great, though a little bit on the easy side. I felt like I got way overpowered after a few upgrades. Maybe it's just me, but I started to feel a little sad for all those bots I was mowing down (specially since they were no match for me after a while), some of them even looked like families. And in the end, all he got for his trouble was a big, black void. That's bleak, man.

Still, I enjoyed it =)
