Oct 3 21:12:29 Bone Box Brawl ♥ 1 I enjoyed the idea of being constrained to a small space while dodging. I think you could definitely expand upon this idea by changing skeleton patterns, box shape and size, etc! I will say that being able to move the box made the game much easier, to the point where I was able to outrun the skeletons almost indefinitely, haha. Nice work!
Oct 3 21:29:27 16m 58s Limited Heart ♥ 1 Nice game! I like spatial puzzles, and I appreciated the unique mechanic where some pieces had to be moved in unison. Also, tutorializing with video was a neat idea. I also missed the point of the last level until I caught your note, haha.
Oct 3 21:52:41 23m 14s TurtleTD ♥ 1 Cute game, and congrats on completing your first jam! I enjoyed the art and snappy SFX. I think if you were to keep working on the game, some indicators for information like tile prices, turtle tower range, etc would be nice! That information usually influences where I place towers.
Oct 3 22:09:24 16m 43s A.I. Move ♥ 2 I really enjoyed this! The sound effects were really satisfying. I liked that the large windows on both floors made it so much more fun to move everything, but it ultimately lead me to realizing that I had needed those two vases, haha. I found the throw mechanic to be a little more reliable and predictable than placing objects. There were a few times where the items I had set down clipped through the front of the moving truck and fell. Overall, a solid execution of the theme.
Oct 3 23:38:07 1h 28m The Final Years of Atlantis ♥ 1 Very creative interpretation of the theme! I found it very relaxing, and played through a few times after learning out what each building piece looked like, as well as the max building height so I could plan accordingly. I also agree that showing this information up front would be helpful, as would an option to "undo." Overall, great job!Screenshot 2023-10-03 183651.png
Oct 3 23:54:43 16m 36s No More Grandma! ♥ 1 This is a super clever interpretation of the theme, and it's hysterical. The music hits the mark as well, and contributes to the mood perfectly. Controls were simple and easy to understand al well! Great work!
Oct 4 22:59:34 23h 04m Six Floors Under ♥ 3 I don't have a whole lot of critique, this was really well done! The art style was lovely, and the music was also excellent! It hit the mark exactly. I really liked the variety of restrictions introduced with each character. However, I did feel like the puzzle solutions were more about plotting an optimal the path to and from the doors than they were figuring out how apply the other mechanics. If you were to expand upon the concept, I'd love to see the NPC attributes expanded upon so there's more opportunity for interaction between the characters. In my opinion, I think that would help to draw some of that focus back to the puzzle solving aspect of the game. Maybe the crocodile eats any lamb which it is facing directly after "x" amount of moves... something of that sort! Overall, this is a good concept, and one well executed. Definitely a game I'd enjoy playing more. Great work!
Oct 4 23:39:48 40m 14s Bag Bail! ♥ 1 Awesome game! The pixel art is phenomenal, and the music was great as well! What a fun concept. I think I agree with some of the critiques above, in that some of the hazards made it hard to advance in the later game. Really nice job overall!
Oct 6 16:10:50 40h 31m Haxwell Modem: Beyond the Firewall ♥ 2 This is a neat concept! The base reflecting mechanic felt really good to use, and had some nice "juice" with the slight zoom effect, squishy bullet animation, and great parry sounds. I found myself wishing I had just a little more space in my upgrade inventory so I wasn't swapping out pieces for the first upgrades I found. I felt more like I was creating a loadout than actually upgrading my character, maybe? Rotating parts would also help to maximizing that inventory space! Overall, really nice work!
Oct 6 17:35:13 1h 24m PHYLLON ♥ 1 This was a really unique concept, and well executed! I managed to pass all levels, although not with flying colors haha. It took me a little while to navigate the flow from creating the minis to generating the finals, but once I got the hang of it, it was really enjoyable! I think if you were to continue working on it, I think allowing the user to preview the minis in the editor (like the finals) would be a welcome improvement. Really nice entry overall!
Oct 6 17:46:47 11m 34s Before The Trip ♥ 2 Really nice artwork and consistency between items! You've clearly put in a lot of work on the programming and art fronts. You also had some really satisfying features, such as stacking sandals and other items, rotating objects, and sorting the appropriate apparel based on the selected theme. You've created a cute and enjoyable inventory management game! I honestly don't have a lot of critique, the game plays really well for a jam build. Nice work!
Oct 6 18:07:51 21m 04s Station 6 ♥ 1 Awesome work! A lot of others have said this already, but the pixel art and audio meld perfectly to create a perfect atmosphere. I think for me the lighting system was more frustrating than not when entering a new room, but I think there's definitely something to be explored with that mechanic. Great job!
Oct 6 18:32:43 24m 52s ASTROLIZWILL - An 80's Handheld Space Adventure ♥ 2 This is such a tactile, nostalgic gem, and I wish it was real! The simplicity of the gameplay makes the workings of the handheld believable, yet they are interactive enough that it's still very fun to play. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you had just created a simulation of some forgotten, handheld retro game. And the sound design is such a treat. It definitely hits the mark. I don't have much to offer in the way critique - excellent job!
Oct 6 18:57:34 24m 51s Mr. FLATFORMER's House ♥ 2 This is such a creative interpretation of the theme. It's easy to tell that your team spent a lot of time just exploring and refining the core mechanic. The puzzle design is masterful! Overall, it's very impressive for a working prototype in general, let alone a jam entry. Nice job!
Oct 6 19:46:16 48m 42s Escape the Slime Lab ♥ 1 Really pleasant pixel art, and an intriguing mechanic! I like that you have to be inside the box when you place it. It puts an unusual spin on the idea of placing platforms. I do think tweaking the size of the platforms and jump height slightly might make the placement of pieces easier! That might help bring the focus more to the puzzle solving. Overall, this is a great entry!
Oct 11 22:53:53 123h 07m Space In-Traders ♥ 2 This is a really interesting idea that you have! I found it to be a little difficult, and I wasn't able to figure out the correct permutation of paths and actions, but I think there is definitely foundation for a good puzzle game here. Nice art style as well!
Oct 11 23:00:30 6m 37s Tabletrack Turbulence ♥ 1 I'm a fan of crokinole, so I enjoyed this! Although the controls felt a little unforgiving, I really appreciated the overall gameplay. The jump animation when launching off a ramp was a nice touch as well. I think there's definitely room to expand on this concept! Nice work!
Oct 11 23:13:15 12m 45s Angler ♥ 2 Alright, you got me good. I jumped in my chair. I think you did a nice job building suspense with the atmosphere, sounds, and story. I especially like that you introduced the 'SHIFT to RUN' control later in the game. The implication of this was an adrenaline spike all of it's own - genius idea. I also like that this interpretation of the theme was applied to both the player's visibility, and natural feature of caves. Nice job!
