May 1 14:45:53 Flipping Finches ♥ 1 I always enjoy your games! The option to chirp is always adorable, and the art is lovely. The player physics take some getting used to (and I never *quite* mastered it) but it's a lot of fun! I recorded myself playing the game to provide maximum feedback. Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6upxLucZj3k
May 1 15:43:11 57m 18s Bagelseeker ♥ 2 There definitely needs to be some way to teach the mechanics to the player. I really enjoyed the parts of the game I got to experience, (tricky platformers are my favorite genre) though once I got to the red key, I was stumped. Which isn't even that for into the game (I assume). I recorded myself playing so I could deliver as much feedback as possible, though just a heads up, I never figured out how to get the red key. The character looks nice, and I love the blips and bloops when you walk around / jump! The background music is nice and calm, the color palette is charming too! But the lack of direction or explanations on how the mechanics work is this game's biggest shortcoming. Here's the recording. I hope it provides all the feedback you need! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vkA_0UaRSw
May 1 15:47:59 4m 48s Wheely Wheely Good Deliveries ♥ 2 The controls took some time to figure out, but once I saw the buttons corresponding to which foot I need to press down in my guy's animation, it clicked. The ragdoll when you crash is hilarious, and I love the low poly character as a whole! I recorded myself playing so I could provide maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFm7wQ3qFkA
May 1 16:29:26 41m 27s The Convoy ♥ 1 I'm in awe. NES games are difficult to make. I know 6502 ASM, and I have yet to make anything even resembling a game with it. You consistently make NES games every Ludum Dare, and it's inspiring. I recorded myself playing this (On an actual NES) to provide maximum feedback. Great job all around. Edit: I just gotta know, how did you get the cloud parallax going on NROM-128? I'm absolutely stunned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0hpnVopjGM
May 1 16:48:09 18m 43s Cosmic Cargo Crusade ♥ 0 Wow this was a lot of fun! It's incredibly hard at times, but it makes it unbelievably satisfying to land a shot that seems to hover around every single planet until it magically lands at the right destination. The scoreboard is an amazing addition too! I recorded myself playing to provide maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoqPxnXk4B4
May 1 17:06:35 18m 26s Sender Not Found ♥ 2 I love the writing, and the twist at the end! All the stories came together, and I had to confess. The fake answers were comical, though a bit too *obviously wrong*? I feel like the email about the medication perfected the formula, by requiring you to read further into the email to get the context before answering the early ones. Well- it would have if the other answers weren't "we're prescribing you 50 milligrams of human flesh." In any case, great work. I recorded myself playing to provide maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbineG3l0QI
May 1 17:27:49 21m 14s Tears and Snails ♥ 2 I enjoy a good resource management game! I found that trading resources was the wrong move to make. it just resulted in myself running out by the end of the game. Some of the cards were useful, and were worth trading, like gain 11 flubberhair, but I'm not spending 19 snails for a card that lets me gain 3, you know? In the end, I got to make the delivery, but the "Deliver" button did nothing. My head canon is that the person who ordered the hundreds of snails happily received the delivery.
May 1 17:39:31 11m 42s Well Shirt Company ♥ 1 I really enjoyed this one! The management was intuitive and a lot of fun to optimize! I recorded myself playing to *deliver* maximum feedback. Nice work! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XefIl36t9E
May 1 17:59:03 19m 32s Kirk's Food Delivery Game ♥ 1 Good lord, I was not ready for the return sequence! That was unbelievably exciting! In my later speedrun attempts, the screen occasionally didn't follow the player immediately, which lead to me requiring off-screen movement to keep an optimal pace. I recorded my play session. This game is incredibly fun. All around, marvelous work. Here's my recorded runs for your feedback needs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BP-J3h5K1Dw
May 1 18:55:10 56m 07s Thats So Punny ♥ 1 I like the take on the theme, though I recall you saying I "won't encounter the same joke twice". What a fool you are, for I ran into the same joke about bees humming "because they don't know the words" twice. fwahahaaa! Anyway, here's 45 minutes of me reading these in a single play-through. Good lord. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unu65LEZaz8
May 1 19:11:42 16m 32s In Defense of Pickles ♥ 1 I might just be too good, but I believe I could've played this forever without losing. I reached 3,000 points with the truck still at full health, and I had to intentionally die just to see the run end. I think this game needs some form of increasing difficulty. Make the guys spawn faster. Spawn 2 at a time. Anything! Anyway, I recorded myself playing to provide extra feedback. Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vTapNDX_EQ
May 1 19:38:55 27m 13s Pizza Slingshot ♥ 2 Wow, some of those levels were tough! It's innocent art style gives the illusion of an easy game, but it the difficulty really sneaks up on you. Nice work! I recorded a video or myself playing the game for maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s5gDEpN7rM
May 1 19:46:28 7m 33s Super Pizza Kid ♥ 1 Cool game! I found out that you can run off the left of the screen to interact with object on the right. Classic screen-wrapping! The art is nice, and the sound effects are too! I recorded myself playing to share as much feedback as possible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTIPcc1G7Ng
May 1 20:01:35 15m 07s Commutator ♥ 1 What a brilliant concept! Making a game that runs in MS paint is wild, and I love everything about this. I recorded myself playing if you want some extra feedback. I don't have too much to say, it's just snake, but the medium in which you have presented snake is hilarious and crazy. Great work! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PDXqcZaBWU
May 1 20:33:44 32m 09s Bumbol ♥ 1 This was lovely! I really enjoyed the late game. The frantic wasp dodging, while I became infinitely more powerful. My range was so large, I could stand on the hive while gathering. Alas, one wasp is all it takes to end the run. Great work! I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFWCyWevYrQ
May 1 20:56:49 23m 05s City Runners ♥ 0 I had a lot of fun with this! The procedural generation is really cool, and the upgrades always felt useful! I got softlocked at the end, but I have a recording so you can hopefully see the cause! Great game. I was devastated I couldn't complete it. (or at least see the other cities i never got to!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9GJmvVyfys
May 1 21:17:37 20m 48s Bad News Inc. ♥ 3 Absolutely hilarious. The characters are well written (and marvelously voiced), the jokes are great, the animated portraits are well drawn- Everything is great! I recorded myself playing to deliver some extra feedback. The game volume might be a bit too low though. my bad! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYROQpwO9PQ
May 1 21:27:12 9m 35s Kick Boxing ♥ 1 I absolutely applaud you for having a speedrun clock, a kick count, and a fail count. As i was playing, I was thinking about how all 3 of those would be a perfect addition, and you did it! Those cloud sections are incredibly difficult! I recorded myself playing to provide extra feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzWK6RLSDyA
May 1 21:39:29 12m 17s IceCream Van ♥ 3 Hot dang, I enjoyed this. The wave at the bottom look so good! This took some getting used to, but once I figured out how to avoid the children beating me up, I started to do pretty well. Every pico-8 game I play is a masterpiece, and this is no exception. Bravo! I recorded myself playing this game to provide maximum feedback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhsG_3r2Qdc
May 1 22:14:59 35m 30s Reloot ♥ 2 Okay, wow. What a concept! I love everything about this game. The artwork is amazing, the music rocks *so hard*. the "Secret alternate ending" had me chuckle. It's got it all. I recorded myself playing to deliver extra feedback. All around, incredible work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OmH94fNv8c
May 1 22:31:00 16m 01s Ferryman Of The Underworld ♥ 4 I absolutely adore the artwork. From the spooky skull trees, to the dudes drowning, to the little ghosts hanging out on inflatable rafts, this game has CHARM. I love every bit of it. I recorded myself playing this game, and it was on an ultra-wide monitor so I ran into a some issues. I played it a little bit before the deadline, perhaps you still have time to address the menu's being cut off in ultra-wide? All around ,marvelous work, especially managing a team of this size! Congrats on the entry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6Lie5MYy18
May 2 00:54:52 2h 23m MEMENTEA ♥ 5 I absolutely love the atmosphere! The settings is marvelously spooky, the ghosts are well drawn, and the things to pick up are cleverly hidden. Just a heads up, I was unable to grab the knife! I have a video of me playing so you can see what went wrong. I'm sending this a few minutes before the deadline, perhaps it can be fixed in time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCgLGjLSTIs
May 2 01:10:07 15m 15s Light My Fire ♥ 6 The cutscenes move a bit fast, but overall I loved this! the art work for level 2 is by far my favorite! The "voice acting" of the alligators, whirlwinds, and Romans are amazing, and I loved the ambient background noises too! I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13ZnD_ay6So
May 2 01:11:40 1m 33s Firestarter ♥ 6 Marvelous. As always, the art and animations are extremely stylish. The explosions, and flame, and overall impact of these animations coupled with the screenshake add so much juice! This game has style. The fighting took some getting used to, and for a while I forgot I could block. The heavy attack felt *so* good, though I realized it's not that much stronger than simply getting a good combo with the light attack. Perhaps it's base damage could be a bit higher? The layout of the stage was a bit confusing at times. Some elevators took me to unexpected places (and sometimes enemies were prepared at the door for me) though I started to find my way around at the end. Finally, the game crashed- which is a shame! I had a lot of fun and would've loved to keep the run going. I recorded myself playing, so hopefully the cause of the crash can be identified. Stellar work all around, I loved it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRyeGxc0xzY
May 2 02:12:14 1h 00m Shaggy Rush ♥ 5 Like, zoinks, Scoob! This was fun! I enjoyed the mad-dash through the stage! There should be a speedrun timer on the victory screen. Overall, the game was easy to understand, and fun, too! I love the character design. I joke about him actually being shaggy from scooby doo; he just needs a v-neck shirt. I recorded myself playing (and I occasionally made a bad shaggy impression throughout the recording). I hope this gives you maximum feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UyDUFRYtSQ
May 2 02:36:43 24m 29s Lexicon ♥ 5 I *love* your take on the theme. It's all in the delivery of these lines that I just can't seem to get right. The story was really nice, though I wish there were checkpoints. Restarting the game every time feels like a harsh punishment, I just wanted to see more of the story, you know? I recorded myself playing. It took me some time to figure out what to do. I hope this gives you as much feedback as possible! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aua2ZBU14P0
May 2 03:13:52 37m 09s Good Vibe Delivery ♥ 3 Good vibes!!! What a great platforming game! This team never fails to make something outstanding. The story was full of great humor, the characters are fun, the vibes are *good*. I also love how there's a built in speedrun mode! The artwork is amazing, though the web build has a bit of a tiny resolution. It's hard to see all the details in the art when it's so small! I recorded myself playing to provide maximum feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6N-rEyPFzU
May 2 03:50:35 36m 43s Rude Bear Rebirth ♥ 3 Marvelous. This is one of the funniest games I've played in a Ludum Dare. The ragdoll physics, the music, the absolutely gorgeous artwork... it all forms this hilarious symphony of a great game. The levels are pretty tricky at times, though perhaps I was just doing it wrong. I recorded myself playing the game, but like a fool- I didn't check the audio levels at all so my commentary is pretty much impossible to hear without deafening yourself. a good summary is: "The background is gorgeous! This is funny. oh- I love the music. Ha, funny bird artwork. This level is hard. wow this level is hard. Good lord this level is hard. This level is so much easier. oh- the game ended." and then I wasted my time by flying upwards. Here's the recording, though again, sorry about my poor audio mixing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ9lNQOI8rw
May 2 14:48:42 10h 58m Swallow Express ♥ 3 I love the story! the twist with the bears dinner, the dogs owner, and the *Boss fight*!!! Nice work! I recorded myself playing the game, though the recording seemed to freeze during every instance of dialogue? I don't know what caused that... my OBS settings were set to record window. Luckily I was reading all the dialogue out loud. Here's the recording! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCUCCbqygbY
May 2 15:00:26 11m 44s Very Good Happy Joy Play 3000 ♥ 4 An absolute masterpiece. This is a real piece of human culture worthy of archival. Perhaps when NASA makes their next voyager probe, this could be on the disk it carries. The humor is a 10/10, in every game. All around, stellar work. I recorded myself playing to provide maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP4xdxNUcAU
May 2 15:25:26 25m 00s Delivery Boy ♥ 4 I don't know what the high score world record is, but I just might have it. $3239 Lovely game! The artwork is stellar. (and you play as good ol' fry from Futurama) I recorded myself playing the game to *deliver* maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msx3VNpQY2c
May 2 15:45:29 20m 03s Mt. Deliverest ♥ 8 This was a lot of fun! There were definitely situations that felt unfair, (rocks appearing after the blizzard begins, two thirds of the screen suddenly becoming hazardous...) but I reached the summit! The artwork was great (I especially enjoyed the aurora in level 2), the scream was hilarious... all around, marvelous work! I recorded myself playing to deliver as much feedback as possible! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APWqA-pOD7Q
May 2 15:58:18 12m 49s Yuki's mystery ♥ 4 I love the characters! I feel like the main character should be a little more nervous though, he acts like he's on a leisurely stroll through.. I dunno, the grocery store? He don't seem to be afraid at all! Edit: I forgot I could run! ahhh- I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. I hope you enjoy my dumb commentary! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yWz8a4vxF8
May 2 16:06:46 8m 28s C.R.A.B. signal ♥ 5 The last level was a lot of fun! I wish the objects were numbered, so I knew which button at the top of the screen correlated to which object. I know the HUD shows which objects are affected, but numbering the objects would go a long way. I recorded myself playing the game to deliver maximum feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9J5LbBl4-s
May 2 16:31:20 24m 34s Rail Blazer ♥ 4 Oh- this was great! It took a long time for me to get a seed that seemed in any way possible (or I was just bad...) but once I got the winning seed, I had a lot of fun! I even decided to temporarily forego winning just to optimize my rail, ha! And wow, procedural generation during a game jam? Bravo! All around, this was a lovely game. I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rofNkDzRElQ
May 2 16:50:11 18m 51s Onboard Hell ♥ 3 Oh yeah, I got the world record! (for now) This was a lot of fun. The planets all having unique names was a lovely touch. The punishment for running entirely out of battery power is a *bit* harsh, but you know what? it's fair, dang it! I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP-wzsR2-RU
May 2 17:09:41 19m 30s Purrfect Delivery ♥ 13 The popups were hilarious at first, but by the end it was just hindering the gameplay and it got annoying. The artwork is fantastic, (even for the popups), the music is fun (I love the occasional meows), and the gameplay, when not hindered by popups, was also a lot of fun to figure out! The levels are nicely designed. I recorded myself playing to deliver maximum feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-SOnVF0vhk
May 2 17:28:15 18m 34s Pizza Inspection & Shipping Service ♥ 2 This was great. I love the idea of stamping pizzas, HA! The extra challenges throughout the week made for some cool twists! I think my favorite was "Don't stamp meat pizzas" since the game conditions you to stamp every pizza, suddenly you need to be extra careful. Cool idea! I recorded myself playing to deliver as much feedback as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMlmHr8Y4J4
May 2 17:38:20 10m 05s Ultimate Package ♥ 4 I love the story. A grim apocalypse rules by undelivered packages. brilliant. I also love the design of the characters. you have Moist Critikal, Slime woman, and box ghost! The final boss was also a really cool unexpected twist, and I like how you have to go back to the start of the game to deliver the package. Nice work! I recorded myself playing to *DELIVER* maximum feedback. ha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fXrk0356SE
May 2 17:56:07 17m 47s Spam Simulator ♥ 2 This was great! I loves some of the spam emails, though I didn't take to time to read through them the whole way. There were probably a ton of jokes I missed because of the rush the game puts you in. All around, good stuff. The 'viruses' were pretty amusing. I like the wizard that tells you when you get mail. I recorded myself playing to deliver maximum feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMW98p2HgDc
May 2 18:04:52 8m 45s Groove 'n' Goods ♥ 3 I love every pico 8 game I play. I wasn't expecting to be a drug delivery man this Ludum Dare, but I'm pleasantly surprised! I recorded myself playing to deliver some extra feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4_LTDrEDlU
May 2 18:27:57 23m 05s Rat Souls: The Ferryrat ♥ 4 I think the difficulty grew a little too slowly. I like the minigame, but there should be more variety. The story, however, was amazing. I loves all the experiences the rats had. I think the lab rat was my favorite, in terms of writing. It's sad, and depressing, and you really perfected the mood. I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NjxFRZrLmo
May 2 18:41:59 14m 02s Delivering Better Worlds ♥ 4 HA! I loved the opening cutscene. I definitely was focusing too much on the fact that it looked like tetris. Covering up unused spaces felt bad, even if there was no real advantage to keeping them. I feel like there should be an incentive for filling a row, a-la tetris, but I don't know the best way to implement that while following the "match the background" pattern of the rest of the game. I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGUPFjqkYdA
May 2 19:05:26 23m 27s Turbo Baby ♥ 4 An absolute masterpiece. I scored 16681 in my final run. not quite the record... not even close, really, but god dang this game is fun! Perfect score all across the board. I recorded myself playing this to deliver maximum feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asmHEqNIYZw
May 2 19:19:18 13m 52s BANKWAVE: Neon Networth ♥ 4 I loved the setting! The aesthetics and overall atmosphere were amazing, and the character designs were really creative! I don't know if I ever understood the gameplay, and I was definitely doing it wrong the entire time. I recorded my play session so I can provide extra feedback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5GCvmNchxg
May 2 19:58:31 39m 13s Very Good Deli ♥ 1 This was really cool! I always enjoy your word based games. The dragging mechanics felt good, and the amount of friction the letters have is *juuuust* right. I wish there was a pause menu of some more. When you make a mistake in the early game, it would be nice just to restart right away instead of waiting to be fired. Edit: oh whoops my recording didn't work out- it was all a still frame. my bad! I'll need to look at my OBS settings. In light of my recorded gameplay not working out, allow me to add some more to my comment. The extra long words were extremely fun to balance! There were a few times when the letters collapse, dinging the bell, and it becomes incredibly difficult to remove the letters without hitting the bell a couple extra times though... it's funny at first, but after a while, you just need to give up, as you're going to lose well over the amount of points you could possibly earn. Hence the need for a pause menu. My cursor didn't appear in-game, which lead to a lot of trouble clicking on the buttons to select which word I'd be building. Again, that would've been shown in the video, but alas. With that being said, great work! I had a lot of fun, and my final score was about 18,000.
May 2 21:35:13 1h 36m Hell'o-Cargo ♥ 6 Holy cow, the artwork is outstanding! What an incredible mood you have set. The story is great, the twist ending had me laughing, and the puzzles were excellent. Bravo, all around! 5 stars in every category. I recorded myself playing for extra feedback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAIWNjLQFM8
May 4 03:20:25 29h 45m Far Isles Postal Service ♥ 1 This was super relaxing. I enjoyed how rapidly the deliveries started rewarding more money. The water looks amazing (I love the caustics) and the whole island system is well designed. I really like the layers! It's much more interesting than just smooth terrain. I softlocked the game by attempting to ramp off a sand bar. In hindsight, that was entirely my fault, ha! I'm not great at commentary on relaxing games, as I don't have much to ramble about, though I recorded my play session to give as much feedback as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tGM9_Dm7kc
May 7 16:25:25 85h 05m A Bag ♥ 3 This game definitely speaks volumes about... I dunno, the human condition? I recorded myself playing to deliver maximum feedback. They say a picture paints a thousand words, but this video only needed about ten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG4ypt-wLC4
May 13 19:35:47 147h 10m Packontra ♥ 1 As a~~n eagle scout~~ totally real member of the green beret, I can confirm my package tossing skills are on par with the protagonist of this documentary. Oh yeah. The iconic CaptainDreamcast opening cutscene, this time with voice acting?! You absolutely *delivered*! The jokes at every house are great! I think my favorite is the one where I deliver someone a new window by tossing a package through their old window. What can I say; su sense-of-humor mi sense-of-humor. I mention it in my recorded gameplay (that's right, I recorded my gameplay) my *only* grievance with the game is the package can spawn somewhere way off screen, and it might take a while to find it. Some sort of indicator arrow would be helpful, though now that I have scored S rank twice in a row, it might not even be needed. that would certainly make the game too easy. I'm not sure if the dogs actually do anything? Perhaps they should give you some knock-back, or make you drop the package. (unless they are currently undergoing a spa-simulation) Otherwise, I didn't find a point in tranquilizing them. "Resultsontra". *Chefs kiss*. Straight fire. Anyway, for maximum feedback, here's the recorded gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeKutIeqJ44 Cheers! **Edit:** How did I miss the cool honking noise in my first play-through?!
May 15 15:19:45 43h 43m Alea Ludum Dare ♥ 1 It seems like the "entry type" feature of this website might need to be finished sooner. imgg.PNG This is a really good tool! I absolutely agree about some of the search methods being easily abused (*cough* Sort by most rated?!) so the selection of games at random is very nice! Thank you for making this!
May 17 16:51:51 49h 32m Delinquent Delivery ♥ 1 Fun fact, a pacifist run is possible (with the exception of the final room's cutscene) Oh my goodness the platforming is great. The momentum of the character from the slide jumps is a perfect blend of moving fast, and feeling good. The voice acted sound effects are also marvelous. Great work! Here's my recorded gameplay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXFEFG-Scc
May 17 18:53:25 2h 01m Holding Out ♥ 1 This was pretty great! I absolutely love the art style! The wobbly animations are adorable, and the cat ear motif around gary's equipment is charming! The dialogue is *dumb*, and I mean that as the greatest compliment I can give. I loved every line that I had the chance to read, which reminds me of a comment I have once received on a humorous game. The dialogue is hilarious, yet I know for a fact I was missing comedy gold, because my priorities were staying alive > reading the funny. Good humor shouldn't be missed as a means to meet an objective. I think after the package arrives, you should have a large arrow pointing to the phone, to tell the player that they gotta ask for another package. Once I got an upgrade, my instincts were to immediately give it a try and see how it works! It's very easy to overlook calling him back for a second package. Anyway, I loved the heck out of this, and I recorded my gameplay to provide even more feedback! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0Vkb_IgtE4
May 19 18:19:45 47h 26m ꦭꦺꦪꦼꦫ꧀ ꧕; Layer 5 ♥ 0 It's a bit unclear what to do at the start of the game. My run began with about 6 "cards" in a row that didn't match the only "deposit slot", so I was unsure what to do. Once I got my first match, it clicked. Perhaps forcing the game to always begin with a match for the first card could fix that. My top score was only 170... I guess I'm not that good at pattern recognition, ha!
