| Oct 2 23:09:40 | Emperor Penguin | ♥ 1 | As others have said the art is brilliant and the penguin names are hilarious. Some of the lines were weirdly spaced like "pro tec tion" is this a roman joke I'm missing or a newline typo? | |
| Oct 2 23:15:08 | 5m 28s | Reaper | ♥ 1 | I really like the art and the 10 second upgrades are a very nice system for the theme. Sometimes I feel like when I'm clicking (directly on enemies? at a certain angle?) my attacks aren't happening, the little sprite swings his scythe but no slash happens. |
| Oct 2 23:21:33 | 6m 25s | ShipIt! | ♥ 3 | This is so good! the art is wonderful and it has so much going on for a Jam game, the number of things to ship and just how nice and smooth it all feels really makes things feel satisfying and frantic in the ten second timer. It really feels like you've gone the extra mile. |
| Oct 3 05:57:41 | 6h 36m | Duo Dungeon | ♥ 1 | Really like the tilesets, them and the lighting really set the tone well. I think some sort of visual indicator of how long between each switch between characters would have been nice. The split screen effect is what really sells it tho, I think having each character on their own screen makes this feel way more polished. |
| Oct 3 06:06:28 | 8m 47s | FocuSlash | ♥ 1 | Lots of nice little visuals going on with all the enemy animations and the sword slash and block really feels satisfying and impactful with some fairly minimal sprites. I feel like something more explicit to acknowledge you've hit multiple enemies could be a nice way to keep the player engaged, even if it's just a little visual popup, I felt like I spent a lot of time trying to line up two for one shots. |
| Oct 3 06:21:04 | 14m 36s | Tenfold Rim Mining | ♥ 2 | Quite an impressive amount going on between all the towers and resource types. It seems a bit odd to start the game in god mode, it took me a moment to realize that I needed to turn that OFF rather than turn it on. Also I could never seem to repair my grinder station and kept accidentally right clicking it my mistake rendering my asteroid mining station immortal but useless for grinding asteroids. |
| Oct 3 06:30:44 | 9m 40s | Birdwatching | ♥ 4 | Would be nice if there was some sort of indication of how long your streak of named birds was but otherwise it was a great game, looked nice and felt pretty complete for what it was and I'm fairly sure I learned something, it's a shame LD doesn't have an "educational" rating value (I decided Mood is probably the best substitute). Some indication that you had typed the space between the names (maybe an underscore that only appears after you'd done it?) would be good too as that's the main thing that tripped me up. |
| Oct 3 06:45:48 | 15m 04s | Cadet Set Go | ♥ 2 | I think having the dialog repeat each attempt got a bit grating after a few failures (sometimes it's very tempting to get greedy and shut down all the turrets) but it's quite funny the first time. Such a good use of the theme to have the 10 seconds be a risk reward system, I think that concept is the core of a great game and you clearly got a lot out of it with a lot of levels without it getting any less engaging. |
| Oct 3 07:01:58 | 16m 10s | Roboten | ♥ 1 | Nice graphics on the little two robot blobs, how I really liked how clear each of them was as a character. Has a bit of a frustrating aspect where if you mess up a jump you usually don't have enough time to go back and recover so you end up needing to wait a full 10-20 seconds to get back to the robot you actually want to be using. |
| Oct 3 07:25:16 | 23m 18s | Natural Snek-lection! | ♥ 5 | Brilliant! loved the doodles and the sounds and the dialog. I was going to say that it was kinda hard to tell what the point was but then I just tried to build the wildest coolest looking snek and got given and award for it so turns out I knew what the point was all along! |
| Oct 3 07:48:26 | 23m 10s | Heckin' Schmeckin' | ♥ 4 | This is a lot of fun, the controls are really nice and the pickups having a chance to upgrade enemies is a lot of fun (less fun when it downgrades you) Also I know this isn't the intended design but the nice signaling on enemy shots means it's actually quite fun to play in "pacifist" mode where you just try to collect presents without killing any enemies (I'm still hoping I luck out and just get the presents that reduce their health until they all die 😆) devils.gif.gif |
| Oct 3 08:39:40 | 51m 14s | Cowboy vs Tumbleweeds | ♥ 1 | I'd recommend downloading and playing the exe version, not because there is anything wrong with the webGL but because the graphics are nice and atmospheric enough it's just a better experience and sometimes having the full-screen visibility is useful. I'd also recommend not launching yourself directly upwards into the air with a high knockback, high bullets cannon. There are tumbleweeds in the sky! |
| Oct 3 08:56:54 | 17m 14s | Rockatoo | ♥ 1 | Wonderful art and love the little bird sound effect and the music, Might be worth adding an itch.io embedded version or a download as the LD embed cuts off a bit of the screen on certain window sizes/aspect ratios? You don't loose much but given the art is such a big focus in this game it's a bit of a shame to cut a few pixels off the lower right. |
| Oct 3 09:05:08 | 8m 14s | The Dawn | ♥ 4 | Incredibly chaotic which would usually be a downside but give the goal was trying to work out where the next ten seconds was and shooting the enemies could clear the storm of particles a bit the chaos really worked. Do the spaceships and boxes up in the skybox do anything? I kept trying to shoot them. |
| Oct 4 07:02:01 | 21h 56m | Every 10 Seconds I Find New And Exciting Ways To Hate Myself | ♥ 2 | Shockingly effective depressing thoughts, was not expecting "okay that's a bit too real" from a jam game about pushing boxes with very nice gameboy graphics. |
| Oct 4 07:08:12 | 6m 11s | Hero for 10 seconds | ♥ 1 | The announcer is great I love the voice acting! I feel like he could have been a little louder relative to the music? The art is so consistent and cutesy too. |
| Oct 4 07:15:40 | 7m 28s | Cascading Failures | ♥ 2 | A lot of things to manage but feels kind of nice in how frantic it is, the ship's computer being one of the things that can break is such a good touch. The collisions are a bit buggy especially in the cockpit. help I've fallen outside the spaceship! spaceship.gif.gif |
| Oct 4 07:21:31 | 5m 51s | Distracted Driver | ♥ 1 | Hearing the truck horn followed by several dozen collisions noises while you can't see the screen after you left off with everything fine is indescribably funny. Very nice touch including the average collision statistics. |
| Oct 4 07:29:31 | 8m 00s | J-Menuing | ♥ 1 | I'm really impressed of well communicated everything was for the characters being little blobs, also running out of time being a big deal but not a hard fail state made it a lot more intense when you mess up. |
| Oct 4 07:38:00 | 8m 29s | Trick or Retreat 3.10 | ♥ 0 | The music getting more intense really makes this shine, I tried to collect more candy just to see how intense it would get and I always ended up getting shot before it felt like I was running out of levels the music could go to. |
| Oct 4 07:56:15 | 18m 15s | Last Days of Atlantis | ♥ 0 | Very nice, I like the method of walls and domes, a bit of shame you you run out of land if you are doing well. challenge mode didn't seem super different given it was easier to build up the top first anyway. |
| Oct 4 08:09:32 | 13m 17s | Stay the Night | ♥ 1 | This is a great simple concept I haven't seen many games that make the challenge for the player tracking the 10 seconds themselves. |
| Oct 4 08:13:10 | 3m 38s | Unforgiving 2 | ♥ 0 | The graphics are really nice and consistent, couldn't manage the platforming for some of the later sections but with 10 seconds it's a nice quick loop to attempt them. |
| Oct 4 08:20:44 | 7m 34s | It Comes At Midnight | ♥ 1 | Amazing escape room game, the art is really effective never felt like I had long enough to do things that it wasn't constantly a bit stressful but did manage to escape 😄 |
| Oct 4 08:30:06 | 9m 22s | Alive for another 10 seconds | ♥ 4 | The simple graphics on the finger-guns shot was really satisfying, I feel like maybe some levels either needed more checkpoints or easier jumps as I had a really had time with the second one. |
| Oct 4 08:33:37 | 3m 31s | Collapsing Cave | ♥ 1 | I love the little mining animation would totally rate the game high on humor for that I so wasn't expecting it. |
| Oct 4 08:38:04 | 4m 27s | every 10 seconds | ♥ 0 | Some of the most unique art I've seen for the characters and the monsters minimalist but quite stylish. |
| Oct 4 08:53:22 | 15m 18s | BOGDARU | ♥ 1 | Found it quite hard to find more than one zapper which is a shame after I stumbled across what I can only assume was the "GOAL" how many of them are there? three? Absolutely gorgeous artwork the effect when you find zappers and the goal is brilliant. |
| Oct 4 08:58:23 | 5m 01s | Scuttlebox | ♥ 1 | Itch.io working fine for me on firefox/windows :) a lot of the events were very funny but not a fan of the power cut one, I feel like I always just resulted in me getting hit without knowing why. On the other hand spuds is brilliant even if the bird feels like he's out to get me. |
| Oct 5 08:51:26 | 23h 53m | Mutated Carbon | ♥ 1 | Very fun game, played through it a few times to try to maximize score and play with fun things like giant bullets. I feel like the upgrades might be better if they were less incremental? like a 3% increase to move speed or fire rate doesn't feel like very much when you just get one so I tended to just spam the same upgrade when I got the chance otherwise it felt like a waste. |
| Oct 6 08:43:55 | 23h 52m | Gemstones | ♥ 1 | CaptureLD51.PNG Very moreish puzzle game-play surprisingly difficult when you get down to your last couple of moves but otherwise so much fun to just keep clicking the shapes together when you get a nice combo going. |
| Oct 6 08:53:14 | 9m 19s | Queue to Hell | ♥ 2 | I might have misunderstood and just smoked the whole pack when I started, second attempt it was a still bit unclear what stress did. The art is brilliant, really suits the style and the theme. |
| Oct 8 06:44:26 | 45h 51m | FF:10 | ♥ 1 | Absolutely brilliant game, very complete in concept and execution. I feel like with some better audio and one or two of the graphics made more consistent (the arrows feel a little out of place with how polished and clean everything else it) it would just feel like a super hexagon style game simple but very complete game. |
| Oct 8 07:45:53 | 1h 01m | Space Field | ♥ 3 | I like the graphics very stylistically consistent and nice for 3d jam game, I feel like the upgrades could have had a bit more going on being harder to kill isn't especially exciting maybe a damage or a fire rate improvement? or automatic defense platforms for earth to encourage you to go further afield for coins? But I understand you didn't have the most time for content so quite good given that. |
| Oct 11 09:15:37 | 73h 29m | In the Basket | ♥ 0 | The animation is very charming especially the death animation and the little menu bounce. I think the screen shake when you move is a bit disorienting, it's quite strong and because it happens when you move it can be a bit jarring how often it happens. |
| Oct 11 09:26:00 | 10m 23s | Chicken farm | ♥ 0 | This is such a good and complete game, absolutely astounded. The art is cute the music is nice (and loops well which is great as you end up listening to it a lot) so many nice little touches like the environment, the cute names on all the chickens (are they random or just iterating through a list?) I feel like some extra additions to the behavior to the chickens or maybe an affection mechanic you've basically got a complete pet sim type game. One of my favorites in all of LD51 😄 |
