Apr 27 20:39:23 Spacepunk 48 ♥ 2 I love the concept, but my crew hates me 😭 I haven't played Frostpunk yet, but I certainly got FTL vibes, which is a good thing. The resource management system requires careful tweaking, and the events offer a good degree of uncertainty, although the distribution of events feels a bit odd with repeated triggers being more frequent than I would expect (I've got the child labour one three times in a row, someone in that ship is certainly pushing an agenda πŸ€”) The music felt super chill. I could leave in in the background while I browse <3 All in all, Great job!
Apr 27 20:56:50 17m 27s The Search for Catlantis ♥ 3 Lovely art style, solid gameplay and catchy music ❀️ The item spawns felt a bit too unpredictable, but other than that this is quite a solid entry. Β‘Great job everyone!
Apr 27 22:18:00 1h 21m Exiled ♥ 1 OMG, I fall in love with that tileset every time I look at a screenshot. It looks amazing! πŸ–€ Execution in general felt really solid, from the controls to the small animation of the dialogue boxes, and including the music (although the loop is too short). As for gameplay, the repetition was a bit too excessive to me (I'm insanely tired right now, which might not be helping, I'm afraid), but I still found it an interesting device to deliver the narrative. Perhaps smaller levels could have conveyed the same intent? Despite that, even after going through 3 loops I was still exploring the full layouts to see if I was missing something that caused me to remain there πŸ˜… In any case, awesome job! Very high quality, especially for a compo game!
Apr 27 22:53:05 35m 05s Magic Sword Swallowing ♥ 1 Awesome, hilarious take on the theme! The choice of music adds the icing on the cake. The mechanic is simple, but well executed(the purple guys are giving me trouble though) and clear to understand. I love the "ghost" graphics of your past attempts. Congrats!
Apr 27 23:09:44 16m 39s The Deepest Dungeon ♥ 3 I'm not usually into idle games but I know I'm weak towards them, especially when they look, sound and feel as polished as yours. I love those retro graphics and the 4colour palette ❀️ The music is super catchy as well, I was sad to see that I couldn't vote for it. Congrats!
Apr 28 21:42:52 22h 33m Codename::GreyHat ♥ 1 I recommend playing with a mechanical keyboard to make up for the lack of sound ;) Jokes aside, I love this game (but right now I'm hating it a bit because I feel like I'm super close to reach the conclusion and I can't find a key hint). It is simple in concept but so immersive, and finding new IPs to dive into feels super satisfying. On my desperate search I've started using all the commands and looking for their help descriptions XD In doing that I may have spotted a bug: I've tried using `clear` a couple of times and it cleared way more than I'd expected, as the screen went fully black. I couldn't type any more and I had to refresh the browser. Is that intended behaviour somehow? Any way, congrats for an amazing idea! Let's see if I can find the REAL culprit πŸ’ͺ
Apr 29 20:23:24 22h 40m The Hookmarine ♥ 2 Great game feel, visuals are super clean and there are lots of small details (the tiny fish swimming in the background <3) that enhance the whole package. The music choice fit well and helped set the mood. Gameplay-wise, it looks super hard at first sight, but once you figure out the controls it is actually really fair and responsive, so the challenge at that point becomes ADDICTING. One minor, super silly and subjective element I'm sort of having a bit of a dilemma is the splats. They're great to offer visual feedback, but at the same time I can't help thinking about the game "narrative" and pondering if those leaks I'm leaving all over the rocks are actually polluting the sea more than just leaving the sealed barrel at the bottom πŸ˜… πŸ˜… πŸ˜… Regardless of this, execution is super solid it fits the theme perfectly and it's fun as heck. Congrats! hook.png
Apr 29 20:47:44 24m 20s Drill ♥ 3 Awesome!! I loved the drilling mechanics, especially on a more open environment compared to the tile-based approach from other games with a similar objective. The playable tutorial on the menu screen was a brilliant touch! I beat it on my second try once I realised I didn't need to avoid bones or stuff, so I focused on picking fuel and I reached the core πŸ’ͺ Music was super catchy, and graphics looked nice as well. Congrats!! :D
Apr 29 21:20:25 32m 41s A Taste of the Past ♥ 0 This is beautiful in so many levels πŸ’• Art and music are lovely, the colour palette in particular adds a lot to the warm, melancholic vibes. It all did wonders to take us through the train as we learn about the main character's efforts to deal with grief. And I loved the choice of food as a humble, close way to draw an emotional connection to a loved one. Amazing entry. Congrats to everyone!
Apr 29 22:45:50 1h 25m Deepest Sword ♥ 0 My mouse hands is hurting like crazy but boy, was it worth it. This is the first game I've tried so far on this edition to earn a perfect 5. The innuendos with the sword were hilarious Gameplay was just the good kind of frustrating, and while I'm embarrassed to say how long I took to beat it, in the end it felt perfect. Brilliant mechanic, and brilliant take on the theme. Graphics and music are equally as praise-deserving. The "effort" animations on the character as I was trying to get the pivots right were adorable <3 Top quality game that will be worth the likely hand injury I'll develop πŸ˜… Congratulations, impressive job!
Apr 29 23:18:31 32m 41s Bunny Bunny Dig Dig ♥ 0 I'm weak for cute bunnies, so I got completely sold the moment I saw a screenshot 🐰 Impressive entry, especially for a compo game! There's a lot of really polished content, great graphics and catchy music. The dig -> upgrade loot makes it super engaging and gives you that "ok, one more run and I'll go" (and suddenly it's morning) vibes that together with the urge to dig deeper can get you really hooked. Congrats!
Apr 29 23:42:41 24m 10s Dream Diver ♥ 1 Brilliant take on the theme, and nice nod to Inception! I've struggled a bit to manage the amount of sedative to go relatively deep, but I love the mechanic, and how we need to balance it so we can keep "invading" targets without being forced to leave a dream. The sound design + music also help a lot to create an intentionally weird atmosphere. I liked the small guided meditation at the beginning to introduce you to the game, I could even leave it in the background now to prepare to go to sleep myself. Really original entry, congrats! PS: Thank you for playing our game, I hope you enjoyed it! :)
May 1 15:42:05 39h 59m depthscraper ♥ 2 This was really addicting! Sometimes it may be a bit RNG-dependent to get suitable blocks of tiles to complete the current challenge or even buy yourself some extra space, but it definitely adds to the challenge. Great job!
May 1 16:01:50 19m 45s T-Minus ♥ 0 Amazing art and sound design, I love the music track especially. It would be nice to look at a preview of the full map before starting to get an initial idea as to how to plan: ship mechanics already make the gameplay challenging enough, so in larger levels we can live without the initial trial and error till you find the level goal. Also, adjusting the power while the ship is rotating at normal speed makes it very tricky to predict where you may end up moving towards. Perhaps while you're dragging the power up and down the game speed could go slower? Hard to tell. In any case, you've done a great job. Congrats!!
May 1 16:33:22 31m 32s Nuclear blaze ♥ 1 Impressive visuals and top notch quality in general, as always. Fire and water effects looked and felt terrific. The fire explosions in particular added SO MUCH to the tension, the first time I experienced it I was genuinely holding my breath. It's a pity there wasn't a proper ending because the level design offered a very natural and immersive progression towards a dramatic conclusion of sorts. Same goes for the lack of sound, but it is usually expected given the time constraints, especially for a compo game and more especially given the amount of work put in the level design and VFX areas. As for the mechanics, controls were smooth. Perhaps I was more comfortable with them once I switched to a gamepad, but with a keyboard it was ok too. I read you have plans to finish it? That would be great! :D Congrats!
May 2 08:20:48 15h 47m Vast Trivia Of The Void ♥ 1 The degree of polish in this game is impressive, you could expect this on a full released game. Visuals and sound are top quality, and the game concept was an interesting take on the theme. I liked the risk/reward factor added when you switch depths (but it caused me to freak out in the third layer, although I didn't even know how you could fail πŸ˜…). A couple of relatively minor issues I found: * The cards are too small and hardly stand out from the scene. I rarely felt the need to use them, though (did it once or twice out of curiosity). * Browser version doesn't stretch well on mobile. This was expected and I'd blame Unity for this because the same happened in our project. If you set the browser to identify as a computer then the game will render correctly, but I couldn't tap on the warning dialog. There is a proper mobile version though, and it worked flawlessly for me. * My phone got super hot and battery started draining fast. For a game jam entry performance is not critical, but if you want to expand it towards a full release it would be something to look at. In any case, your game is amazing and with multiple players I could totally see it as a commercial release. Awesome job!
May 2 14:33:47 6h 12m Blackout ♥ 6 Loved this game! I appreciated the fact that there wasn't a lot of pixel hunting or weird interactions like it tends to be the case with point-and-click adventures. Everything JUST.MADE.SENSE, which allowed me to be more invested in the mystery. The plot twists at the end were really fun. Graphics and sound were top notch. Congrats, this is one of the most solid entries I've played so far!
May 2 15:10:07 36m 20s Tunnel of Love: I'm Digging It ♥ 1 Hilarious writing, I loved every word πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ Besides that, sound and graphics (the stock images! XD) were great, the mechanic was simple but really well paced and trying to aim at finding the exit collecting all gifts posed a bit of a challenge. Needless to say, it was a very fitting take on the theme. My only minor suggestion would be to highlight a bit more the exit tile. The arrow at times was too subtle to notice at first sight. Amazing job, who knew mole romance could be so engaging πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘
May 2 17:06:20 1h 56m Nav's Endless Nightmare ♥ 1 Loved the graphics, the bunny in particular was adorable in the midst of the creepier creatures and environments. Nice colour palette as well! <3 Controls felt smooth, and gameplay in general was solid, even if enemies at some points felt too static. Keeping track of time/your health bar also added some welcome challenge. Nice job!
