Oct 8 12:08:59 RPigG ♥ 1 Really cool idea with adorable graphics (even when the piggy stumbles is cute ❤️ )! Once you grasp the basics it feels very intuitive to play, too. It's easy to get sucked into the loop of going through the line back and forth. Great job!
Oct 8 20:20:41 8h 11m TINY PACK ♥ 1 I loved playing the game. It artfully combines mechanics I've really enjoyed in recent times with some lovely and thematic dice designs. The sheep may be my favourite 😬 Congrats on an impressive job, more so for a compo entry. Do you plan to improve it / expand it?
Oct 8 20:45:15 24m 34s Inverspeculum ♥ 1 Really fun! The game got a lot easier when I realised I could bump on enemies 😄 I haven't beaten it yet (I've tried to defeat every mob, so I died at around ~~800~~ 1200 points, still not sure how close I am to the end) and to me it feels like the good kind of difficult. Every new run so far I've felt like I was reaching further away, and that motivates me to keep going. Some minor annoyances or points for improvement: * In order to preserve the "keep going" mode, is it possible to restart when you die by pressing a key? the ones used in gameplay at least don't seem to work, and switching to the mouse adds some unnecessary friction. * I like the music track, it gives some chill vibes that contrast nicely with the challenging gameplay, but it is true that the loop is short and can get repetitive. Despite those issues, the game is great. Awesome job!
Oct 9 14:02:47 17h 17m PATCHONOMICON ♥ 3 Very chill, and super polished, congrats! :D At first I was expecting more ways to deal with the patchy creatures, but I was just being impatient. These were my first results. I had to rush the last two because I had to leave, but the first two turned relatively well: patches.png
Oct 9 19:47:33 5h 44m Tiny World Mayhem ♥ 3 Me, watching the intro: *Aww, those blobs are so cut...😶* Super polished overall and also really fun to play. The splats made the carnage feel so satisfying that the guilt faded quickly 😅 Congrats to the team for such an amazing job!
Oct 10 19:16:12 23h 28m Frogi ♥ 0 Nice entry :) I may not add anything new, here but I liked the graphics (the intro in particular does a great job at immersing you in the pond scenery!) and the music track. It was lulling, and didn't get repetitive at all as it tends to be the case sometimes in short games you can replay multiple times in a row. Gameplay was simple, but well executed except for the tongue rotation speed, where I agree with other reviewers that it was a bit too slow. Given the speed of some of the bugs there were cases where it wasn't possible to arrive from the last one's position, and that felt unfair, running counter to the overall chill vibes. On the plus side, I appreciated the generous collision detection, so you could still grab some bugs without perfect accuracy. A great example of what a good compo entry can achieve. Congrats! PS: 62 points has been my highest score so far.
Oct 10 19:58:14 42m 02s Creepy Crawly Mansion ♥ 2 Amazing graphics! I really liked the mini-games and ended up wishing there were more 😭 The sound and music did a great job setting the atmosphere, too. One small thing: I'm not sure if it was a bug, but in endless mode, soon after I started the second mini-game the match lit down and I couldn't find a way to light another one again. Perhaps I missed something? Anyway, great job! Hope you'll aim for a post-jam version 😄
Oct 11 12:42:05 16h 43m Play With Me ♥ 3 Cute and creepy is my thing, you nailed the vibes! 😄 After reading the description on itch.io I was expecting some twist, and even knowing that it still felt disquieting when it first happened. My only nitpick might be that it finished too quickly, but then again, you made 3 mini-games on top of the wrapping tamagotchi-like and the whole package was solid. That's more than enough for 3 days. Amazing job!
Oct 11 13:39:29 57m 24s Chumini: Tiny Army ♥ 1 The game looks stunning, prettier than some already released commercial games in the genre ❤️ I loved the concept of gathering your chuminis army (btw, as a Spaniard, that choice of name was...interesting 😅) and it fit the theme perfectly. Also, while at the beginning you need to get used to just leave your critters to do the job, as opposed to yourself doing part of the killing like in other similar games, eventually it all clicks and feels different. The music was cheerful and catchy. I was playing for quite a while, so it became repetitive by necessity, but I never felt like I should mute it. Even as I'm writing I can still hear it in my head. And with so many things done so well, my main issue lied with the progression. Once you survive long enough it just tanks. I remember I was quite low on HP and after 2-3 lover upgrades I pretty much became immortal. At the same time, level ups began to take longer, enemy waves loop and the feelings of challenge wane. Despite this (and it can surely be fixed with balancing) this has been one of the best entries I've played so far. Really polished, fun and complete. Congratulations! I left myself to die at around 2600p in my first playthrough. chuminis.png
Oct 11 13:47:08 7m 39s Carrot Patch ♥ 1 Being high on grey carrots saved from being run over by the tractors twice in a row because I was pressing the keys too fast 😅 I'm partial to games with rabbits, and yours was simple, but well executed with nice pixel graphics. Congrats!
Oct 12 13:42:58 23h 55m Shrimpy ♥ 3 I loved your take on the theme. Yay dangerous symbiosis! 🦐 🐳 The main screen does wonders to set the mood from the very beginning (in fact, I kept thinking if there would be other dangers lurking up ahead), and then the rest of the game cements a really consistent experience, with nice pixel art graphics (The tiny pieces of sushi in particular were so cute) and fitting sound design. Kudos to the music, I could easily keep the dreamy psych tunes looping in the background for a chill afternoon. Great job! ❤️ PS: Just a couple of technical issues: * Somehow I managed to kill myself and lock the game in the main screen once. 😅 😅 😅. It doesn't happen 100% of the time though, it could be a timing issue. * A couple of times the height between two teeth seemed to be higher than the jump max, with no algae in-between.
Oct 13 21:17:25 31h 34m Oh God Please Don't Kill Me Mr. Frog ♥ 2 My first run got me the second ending 🥲 Really solid entry. Both gameplay phases were well executed (although partial matches were still tricky to figure out), and the connection to the theme was clear and clever. Loved the art style too. Congrats!
Oct 15 12:08:01 38h 50m Shnorps: Invasion of Blorps ♥ 2 I got sold from the title, but I also loved the tower and the blorps designs (especially their sounds ❤️). Game was really fun, too, and the tie to the theme was clear. Well done! PD: Small bit of feedback based on my own mistake. Although controls to move the camera were clearly mentioned I messed my first run because I totally forgot that the world extended to the right. I wonder if hinting at what lies beyond the first wall could encourage players to move the camera by themselves and learn about it.
Oct 15 21:21:28 9h 13m Blob, To the Top! ♥ 2 Brilliant! The mechanics are simple, but the game is pretty challenging. Great sound design and music (the chill vibes offer an interesting contrast to the time pressure 😬 ), and there are lots of tiny details giving it a really good feel. You've created a great tribute to WoG that stands out by itself. Congrats, this was an amazing entry!.
Oct 15 21:28:06 6m 38s Snail Typing ♥ 1 Short but intense! Very nice entry. Great take on the theme (but I was sold on your intro about static typing, etc 😄) and solid execution. Like others have mentioned, I couldn't pay too much attention to the race, which is a bit unfortunate because the graphics are good, but other than that you (s)nailed the entry. Congrats!
Oct 15 22:13:29 45m 23s Inside Creatures Out: What is your gaming MBTI? ♥ 3 I may not be the biggest stan of the Myers-Briggs test, but I loved how you used it as the core of the game. Brilliant! You also managed to nail the experience of a survivors-like including the sense of progression towards OP, which I can imagine can be especially hard to balance in a game jam game. I didn't struggle too much (P and some lifesteal helped with that) and by the end I became STRONG, but I always felt the need to keep moving and avoid projectiles, which is good. Perhaps I did miss the occasional feeling of facing a horde filling the screen, but I'm being greedy now. Graphics and music also worked really well, and I love how the player themselves change according to the temporary result (a nod to Brotato, perhaps?). This was my "truth" build. I got INTP, as I expected, but now I'm really tempted to fake the answers and experiment with other configurations: intp.png A couple of suggestions: * As I mentioned before, I kept the focus on P and it carried me through the game 😎 ... or perhaps I'm just imagining it. It would be nice to see the DPS contribution for all the "letters". * On a similar note, it could be cool to see the temporary result when you lose. Five well-deserved stars from me. Congrats!
Oct 17 21:08:52 46h 55m The Pasture ♥ 2 🐰 Soooo lovely! 🐰 I tried three different levels and spent quite a while playing, and although it's true that eventually it may become repetitive the mix of time management and sliding match-3 is way too addictive for my brain. I could have easily played another round or ten, but I'm already seeing bunny-shaped shadows as I type. Graphics were super cute, and the overall level of polish was very high. I noticed you're not being rated for audio, but the music track was equally fitting, cheerful and catchy. One of my favourite entries for sure, congrats!! :D
Oct 19 15:54:00 42h 45m Reverse Pacman ♥ 1 I didn't see the controls and first and was thinking if Reverse Packman was some kind of a joke. Then I figured them out and I found a really innovative take on the reference Game (and the theme, ofc). Great execution too. Congrats!!
