| Oct 6 12:47:25 | Astroline | ♥ 2 | This game was fun! I liked it a lot overall and the tutorial is a nice touch to get confortable with the controls and gameplay. One issue, for me, is that the game window doesn't scale with screen resolution (I think), so it was really small on my screen... I don't know if the window size was an intentional choice, but it made the game very hard to play when I was trying to advance! | |
| Oct 6 13:01:54 | 14m 29s | Stage Fright | ♥ 1 | Nice! The game's concept is really similar to ours, but the gameplay is very different. I had a little trouble in the beginning grasping the mechanics (I feel they aren't super intuitive and could be better clarified in-game), but after a couple restarts I was really enjoying myself and the gameplay lasted quite a while. Good job, it was a very cool execution on the theme! |
| Oct 6 13:12:43 | 10m 49s | Reeled-in Perihelion | ♥ 1 | The concept is really cool for me and the execution is fine given the time constraints of the jam, but I have to agree with @schreibmaschine and @dunderroffe: the game feels incomplete... There seems to be no way to die / end the game, I didn't receive feedback on what was going on and would have appreciated more foresight (time to react to things), maybe even a points system / leaderboard... Good job still, I would like to see and play a more developed version in the future! |
| Oct 6 13:40:59 | 28m 16s | Isolation | ♥ 2 | I liked this game a lot! It feels polished and well thought-out, the gameplay is enjoyable and the various elements are very cohesive. Good job and thanks for reminding everyone that 2020 sucks... ;-) |
| Oct 6 14:19:01 | 38m 02s | Hope/Remember | ♥ 3 | Nice game, flows really smoothly and there is quite a bit of content. I think after a while it becomes a little bit repetitive, and I would have liked less space/places and more interaction in general... But overall it's a really enjoyable experiece! Good job! |
| Oct 6 14:34:08 | 15m 07s | 2-KLN | ♥ 2 | Great job with this project! Nice graphics and music, the gameplay is also very fun! I had issues with some pizza slices that were stuck in the ground and there was nothing i could do to un-block them to complete the level (I think it was during the 2rd cycle the first time I played?)... I encountered this problem only once though. Overall, good polish(ing) and very very nice game! Oh, and lovely paintings you put in there! ;-) |
| Oct 7 13:27:35 | 22h 53m | ⛧ Hellycoaster ⛧ | ♥ 2 | Cool take on the theme! The graphic style is unique and I really liked it. The menu is really well thought out too. I had some trouble understanding the mechanics at first, so I messed up and had to restart the level... I also felt it lacked some kind of feedback/objective that keeps you motivated to continue playing. I'm not saying that feeding Satan isn't a noble enough goal, just that some in-game reward would have felt good (like progressively unlocking the weapons and such)! Good job nonetheless! |
| Oct 7 13:41:10 | 13m 35s | Songwriter's Block | ♥ 1 | I have always been a breakout fan, so I obviously enjoyed this game! Plus, as a musician/composer/producer, I can totally relate to the mood and feelings you portrayed. As for the mechanics, I think you sould limit the lateral angle at which your brain-ball can travel, as well as the momentum shifts: it can be frustrating to observe your ball travel super-slowly in an almost horizontal direction without having any chance to do anything about it... Also, be careful when mixing/mastering for games, as some of the sounds were pretty loud and kind of overshadowed the others. But overall, good job with the game! |
| Oct 7 13:54:11 | 13m 01s | Chrono Crash | ♥ 1 | Awesome stuff! The rewind mechanic, with your previous tries acting as teammates, was a great interpretation of the theme: albeit very simple, it's defintely one of the best implementations of "Stuck in a loop" in my opinion. All of the elements, from gameplay to sound to graphics, work really well together and make game feel very polished. Great job, I really enjoyed it! |
| Oct 7 14:11:38 | 17m 27s | A Hamster's Journey to Nowhere | ♥ 2 | I have no idea why, but I loved this! It's so simple, yet so enjoyable... Also very funny and cute graphics (loved suits/rockets on the hamster)! Nicely done! |
| Oct 7 14:30:00 | 18m 22s | Fearcle | ♥ 5 | I really enjoyed this. I agree with others on the switching being confusing, but it actually works well with the looping/nightmare-ish theme of the game... It kind of make you uneasy and disoriented, in a good way. I also liked the art and thought that the audio (both music and effects) works fantastically with the mood and graphic style. Great work! |
| Oct 7 15:00:03 | 30m 03s | Unknown Factory | ♥ 1 | The concept is cool and and I liked the graphic style. The small map worked well, but on the large one I didn't have any "movement" tiles spawn, so I could literally do nothing... Unless that's my problem and I didn't understand some game mechanic! ;-) I also agree with @voidsay that some music would have been nice to have in the background, for some added interest. |
| Oct 7 15:21:03 | 21m 00s | AUTOLOOP | ♥ 2 | I loved this! Very good implementation of the theme and I really liked the art, despite feeling a bit nauseous after quitting the game... ;-) The music is fantastically thought out, having the drums/melodies work as sfx (being triggered by your actions) is a super cool idea and the build-up when unlocking the power-ups is very nice! Great job guys! |
| Oct 7 17:33:36 | 2h 12m | A Year | ♥ 1 | I had fun playing and no problem whatsoever with the mechanics... I actually thought it was simple to grasp and won pretty easily! If anything, I would suggest to add some music in the background to help in setting the mood. Overall it was a pleasant experience, good job! |
| Oct 7 17:40:48 | 7m 12s | Escape Loop | ♥ 0 | The link worked fine for me, maybe you have corrected it... The style is nice and I like the implementation of the theme. The mouse sensitivity, however, is way to high and makes it very difficult to point your camera in the direction you want. I also think that you should at least mention the controls in the beginning: they are intuitive enough but the players shouldn't be guessing what they are supposed to do and start pressing random keys... I would really like to see what the game looks like when you're done with it! Edit: I played and posted this as you were updating your game and game description, so it's not super relevant anymore... ;-) |
| Oct 7 18:41:19 | 1h 00m | The Serpent of Scorhill | ♥ 1 | It's a really well made snake-like game. The visuals are nice and I think the music fits nicely. Granted, it's nothing super new, but I don't think you should be so hard on yourself. Personally, I really liked the story elements and thought the mood was cool! Good job! |
| Oct 8 10:03:15 | 15h 21m | The Infinite Parable | ♥ 3 | This is really nice! It's pretty much exactly what I wanted to do for this LD, but my team and I settled for a music loop based tower defense in the end... Anyway, loved the visuals and audio, the storyline is good and the puzzles were the right difficulty in my opinion (except maybe the billiard balls one, which is a little unintuitive). Great job! |
| Oct 8 11:09:14 | 1h 05m | Stuck in the Loop Dungeon | ♥ 1 | I liked the concept and the intro was a neat addition. I agree with others that a second/third mechanic would have been nice to avoid one-button-spamming... Also, some indication on screen (like HPs for example) could have made the game feel more polished; the same applies for some background music and sfx for hits/kills. All in all, it's still cool and the art style is simple but enjoyable. Good job! |
| Oct 8 11:15:54 | 6m 40s | Quantum Split | ♥ 1 | Really nice game. The gameplay is fun and the quantum tunneling mechanic is very cool. I also enjoyed the music and art style. Good job! |
| Oct 8 11:38:30 | 22m 36s | Over Unity - A puzzle game | ♥ 1 | The puzzles in the game are really nice and well thought out! The art is also nice and there's quite a bit of content to play. I think you could have better described the mechanics at the start and then detailed the objectives for each level: they are a bit unintuitive as it is. I also felt that the music was chilled and nice sounding, but became repetitive quite fast... Maybe a longer and more varied track is better suited for a game that lasts as long as yours? Don't take these suggestions badly, they are meant as constructive feedback to further improve what is already a great effort. All in all, I enjoyed the game very much and would like to play even more levels! |
