Apr 26 10:46:55 A Night In The Dark ♥ 1 Fun little game! Really enjoyed playing it trying to find out what secrets are hidden in the shadows. I like the retro look of the game. Everything is very nice and overall consistent. It's especially cool that you made it with your own engine! Sad that there is no sound as it would have added a lot to the overall feel but it's of course totally understandable if your engine doesn't support it yet.
Apr 26 10:58:52 11m 57s MACHINA ♥ 1 Very impressive visuals and overall feel of the game! Good job! It would have been really nice to have some kind of indicator displaying if the enemies can hit you as it wasn't always very clear to me (especially in the beginning)
Apr 26 16:51:25 5h 52m Egdar's Blobs ♥ 0 Very nice looking entry. Had a lot of fun playing it. One problem I however had is that I sometimes found myself fighting with the camera. For example in level 5 I kept launching the blob out of view of the next planks, which made it hard to catch it when it came back down.
Apr 26 20:27:10 3h 35m Keep the Dream Alive! ♥ 1 Fun game! It's very good looking and the music and visuals fit well with each other. The gameplay is very simple, which is good for a game jam, but I think there was potential to add a bit more depth to it. For example an indicator on how well you timed the hit (maybe with a counter showing the distance the ball fly) could have added an additional element of depth. I'm also a big fan of screenshake and I think adding some of that when you hit the ball would improve the overall feel of the game. Overall very good job! Enjoyed playing it!
Apr 27 20:10:55 23h 43m The Fire ♥ 0 Super nice looking game! You really nailed it with the graphics! I agree with @barrier about the journals as I managed to miss them at first. Minor issue of course but if would be nice with just a simple [R] above them or something similar to make sure that you see them and know that they are interactable. The game itself maybe felt a bit easy as I never really felt that the fire was in danger of going out even thou I felt I wasn't doing so well. Maybe the rate at which the fire goes out could increase the closer you are to be rescued to increase the challenge at the end. Still overall a good job!
Apr 27 20:22:07 11m 12s Square Loves Circle! ♥ 1 Very cool and very challenging game! I really liked the concept! Something that maybe could be improved is the controls. I think they felt a little bit too floaty somehow. Especially the wall jumping felt a little bit off (or maybe I'm just bad). Other than that I think this was an excellent entry with a fun and creative implementation of the theme!
Apr 27 21:33:48 1h 11m Queen's Rose Garden ♥ 2 Some thoughts I had when playing the game. My instincts at the start was to not water the healthy roses. I was concerned that watering them when they don’t need it would instead kill them. I was also worried about waiting too long to revive the dead roses thinking they would die permanently if I wasn’t quick enough. Nothing of this seemed to be the case but maybe it could have been a fun additional challenge if it was. Especially since the game felt quite easy, having to worry about not watering healthy plants would probably have added some additional depth and challenge to the game. How the happiness meter worked wasn’t entirely made clear to me either. The first round playing the game I assumed it worked like a standard health bar, basically the percentage of flowers alive is your health and the happiness bar filling up below it was just a level timer. Only after playing around with the game after I had beaten it I understood that the percentage of flowers alive causes the bar to go up or down. This might also just have been a problem relating to the difficulty as during my play session the happiness probably never dropped below 70 percent, or at least not long enough for me to notice the bar go down. I also instinctively tried to deselect the pattern by right clicking, which of course instead rotated the pattern. It’s fun to be able to play the entire game with just a mouse, but I think I still would have preferred to control the rotating with arrow keys instead. That way it could also be possible to go back and forth, and the right mouse button could be reserved for deselection. This is probably very subjective, but I thought I’d mention it anyway. Overall, an awesome job! The game feels very complete which I think is kind of unusual for jam games. I also really enjoyed the dramatic story you have going through the game :)
Apr 28 19:04:02 21h 30m Keep Him Alive ♥ 3 Cool game! Liked the concept. Found the controls a bit confusing however. Was sometimes a bit hard to see what direction the player character was turned.
Apr 29 18:23:35 23h 19m The floor is lava! ♥ 1 Fun and very challenging! I didn't however manage to beat the first level even after trying for quite some time. It could maybe have been good to have a couple of shorter and easier levels first. Either way, good game and I enjoyed playing it!
Apr 29 18:40:08 16m 33s CAMPFIRE ♥ 1 The atmosphere and mood is great! Just wish there was a bit more interactivity.
Apr 29 18:47:53 7m 45s Katastrophe ♥ 2 Cool game! Had a lot of fun playing it. I felt I didn't have to use the barriers before the boss, so maybe it could have some more situations before that where you were forced to deflect something to proceed.
May 2 17:39:02 70h 51m A Gleam In The Dark ♥ 1 Very nice job with the mood! The look of the game is also very unique and nice! Good job!
May 2 18:46:25 1h 07m Last Embers ♥ 1 Cool game! The minimap was a really cool as well. I agree with that the scope was maybe a bit too ambitious as some aspects felt a bit unfinished, but still it was a fun little survival game. Good job!
May 2 18:53:53 7m 28s Hacker Escort ♥ 1 Fun little escort game! Fewer but deadlier enemies that maybe come in waves would have been nice I think as there maybe was a bit too many enemies now. Some more flavor with particle effects and screenshake would also have added a lot to the overall feel. Still, super good job considering this was your first game!
May 2 19:41:58 48m 05s Friendly Fire ♥ 3 Had a lot of fun playing this one! Loved the twist at the end :D
May 2 20:59:11 1h 17m Spirit Of Dying ♥ 1 I must say I disagree with Dandala88 a bit. To me it seems like the game is a puzzle game disguised as a dungeon crawler (action?) game. The core idea is simple sure, but that's a big part of what makes it good! I think there is a lot of potential to expand this. I can imagine levels where you among branching paths have to collect or trigger some events in the right order to eventually get to the end without dying. Just keep the levels relatively short so that redoing them over and over isn't tedious.
May 2 21:11:31 12m 20s Peanut Butcher ♥ 1 Cool game! It was a interesting idea to reduce the power level of the player as you go
