Not sure if it's a bug or not but when i looked at the controls while playign the game i couldn't go back to playing the game. Otherwise a neat game!

good game, the controller was a bit buggy. but otherwise a great job. see you next jam

Interesting idea for a game, clear that you tried to pack in a lot for such a short amount of time. I wasn't quite sure why I was just continuously dying - I didn't seem to be dehydrated etc. Nice job though!

Very ambitious - an implementation of a familiar genre, but with lots of charm.

Sadly, I just could not find a 4th stick anywhere, so couldn't craft the axe and progress.

Well done - thanks for sharing!

I encountered an interesting small bug when the text informing me that I can press E to drink water was flipped. Otherwise, it played just fine. Nice job! Although some walking animation would do wonders for immersion here.

Neat survival game ! I thought the mechanics were well introduced (although you might want to reduce the amount of text thrown at once on screen). The game was plenty challenging, maybe a little too much so, but some like it hot ;)

Strenghts : - All the basics of a survival game are there - God bless your minimap

Possible improvements : - UI scaling was a little problematic - In my opinion, the difficulty curve is a little too steep

Nice work !

I could never find enough sticks to craft an axe or pickaxe. It was an interesting game, but there are a few things that I think could improve it. First, the time to live is short if you do not guarantee the player's ability to continue to survive if only they are good enough. Your text pop-ups (like press E to drink) are set as a child of the player and you clearly just flip the GameObject of the sprite, so the text also flips. Instead, look at the SpriteRenderer that holds the character and it has an attribute to flip in either X or Y.

It was a good concept, though, that I could have enjoyed, and it definitely fits the theme.

I think you are trying to do so many things in a jam. otherwise its cool basic survival game.

I loved that it had a mini map :) felt like a polished game at first...

I think the player needs to learn a little bit on how to survive or get resources at first. I died too quickly without figuring out the game...

Cool game! The minimap was a really cool as well. I agree with that the scope was maybe a bit too ambitious as some aspects felt a bit unfinished, but still it was a fun little survival game. Good job!

rjhelms 2020-05-05 03:15

As others have said, I think this was maybe a bit too ambitious for a jam. The idea is solid, and all the mechanics are here, but the polish to bring it all together into a cohesive experience is missing.

I saw that this is your first go 'round at Ludum Dare - hope to see more from you in the future!

jk5000 2020-05-05 07:37

The game idea is simple and fun, but the game feels a bit unfinished and I was never able to craft anything before I died.

yxmx-rsx 2020-05-07 02:40

You got a solid base if you want to keep making it and the concept really fits the theme. Good job!

It's ambitious. I'm a huge fan of ambitious games, even if they don't seem complete yet. I was encountering some weird issues with the text flipping, but it's pretty minor. I'm sure with some polish, this game could really be something special. Nice job!

belowzerogames 2020-05-07 04:03

I couldn't seem to live long enough to craft anything , pretty cool idea though

samuli 2020-05-07 14:34

Quite a feature rich game. Lack of polish is evident, but doesn't really take away from gameplay too much.
