Great game in every aspect. Some places were challenging I had to think ahead if I should really pickup that heart now or leave it for later.

Finished the game by losing. I rate this 10 toilet papers out of 10.

Giving this the best LD feedback I know of... would certainly have kept playing if there was more. Satifying sounds and graphics. Collision that allowed some sliding on walls would have been a plus. Very fun though.

Well done! Graphics and audio were spot on. It was quite a challenge (which I really enjoy).

Wow! By far the most polished game I've seen thus far. The level design was very clever. I would say there seems to be an unexpected difficulty spike at the beginning compared to the later parts of the level, but its pretty minor. Really enjoyed the game!

I'm not sure I understand the other reviews here. I will try to be as honest as I can.

First the bad - it just felt lazy. Basic movement with basic collection mechanics. Even the level up system never really felt like a reward. Typically you would want to seek the level up path but with this, I found my self searching for hearts more than level ups. My biggest complaint here is that if you are going to include a level up option than include some type of decision making. I really felt funneled into a single path the whole time. And that's what this game boils down to. Follow a singular linear path until you worked it out good enough to reach the end.

Now the good - love the art style and feel of the game. If it was a bit more fleshed out I could really find my self not getting enough of this game. Sounds were good also. There was a welcomed intensity to the game which works well with the theme.

Overall - A good effort but fell short on too many fronts to be memorable.

I liked the level up going around the screen. It is very nice polished. Perfect game for compo. It was challenging and you have to try multiple times. Well done.

very cool concept, great pacing and nice balance, if you wander off or get greedy you can regret it

would love to see more levels!

I must say I disagree with Dandala88 a bit. To me it seems like the game is a puzzle game disguised as a dungeon crawler (action?) game. The core idea is simple sure, but that's a big part of what makes it good! I think there is a lot of potential to expand this. I can imagine levels where you among branching paths have to collect or trigger some events in the right order to eventually get to the end without dying. Just keep the levels relatively short so that redoing them over and over isn't tedious.

Really good game! Very addictive, maybe too much :DD Good Job!

I like the art style of the game. The gameplay is simple, but the combination of the music and the UI made it quite tense. My favourite entry in the jam so far.

Nice, pretty basic gameplay but still decently fun to try and solve. Interesting that the level design (ie, the fact that you can just barely make it to the next heart and there's not much leeway) made it feel really difficult and tense, but ultimately it only took me 2 attempts to finish. The health bar wrapping around the screen was a neat touch. Nice work!

This is a great and simple game. I love puzzle games and this was a refreshing take on the theme. I loved the mechanics, the level design, the art... The only thing I could point out is that the music feels a bit ostinate after a little while, but it does fit the fast-paced gameplay, so it's really not an objectively bad choice, just a personal opinion. Great job ^^

Cool short game. Perfectly fits the theme, loved that game over animation. I felt like the game should show whole rooms, otherwise it feels unfair. I like the resource management aspect of it, You don't necessarily want to pick all the hearts at once, I thought that was cool and fun. Congrats, have a good day!

I thought this was a cute and clever game! I like the combination of the puzzle elements and the timer -- it really made me think on my feet to decide which hearts I should pick up in which order.

The presentation and colour scheme was really nice too. I enjoyed the touches of polish, from the light effect around the cursor in the title screen, to the wrap-around health bar, to the ending sequence.

As others have said, the game was perhaps a little short, but I enjoyed my time the whole way through. Great job!

The game looks really nice and the audio works well. I found it pretty easy - I lost at the first key door, then at the spikes, but on the third try I beat it without feeling too pressed. I really liked the health bar wrapping around the screen - that brought me a lot of joy. The core mechanics seem solid to me as is and, as others have mentioned, I think it would benefit from being longer (and harder). While it's not so much of an issue with such a short game, if it were expanded, it would be worth adding checkpoints and making it take less time to respawn (I could even imagine this being the sort of game that works with "if you die, the camera pans back to a checkpoint quickly and you immediately respawn) - just to make sure that the player isn't punished for exploring. I enjoyed playing it, even if it was short.
