| Dec 8 15:07:00 | Grid-based base-defender | Solid version of a nice tower defense game! <br/> <br/>Some things i`m missing: <br/>- Tooltips on structures (what does this do again?) <br/>- Hint on how many of a kind i can build (i guess no more than 3) <br/> <br/>Minor bugs i found: <br/>- Draggind a structure over another structure will replace the first one <br/>- MASSIVE framedrops on the wave with enemies shooting a stream of bullets in all directions <br/> <br/>Other than that it is very playable and kind of fun. Nice work! Could become great if polished! | |
| Dec 8 15:29:00 | 22m 00s | Protect The Fire | A tower defense game in raw prototype stage. While it is solid so far, there are two things bugging me: <br/> <br/>- All towers have a shared target instead of shooting their nearest target <br/>- Towers should have a little bit of health <br/> <br/>This two things combined make it quite difficult to get into the game. |
| Dec 8 15:38:00 | 9m 00s | Owl'd Hurricrash | Nice entry! I like it alot. The idea is great, the flight and wind mechanics are solid, the graphics are also nice (i like those refelctions on the water) and the sound fits in there too. I also had to laugh a lot when i smashed my owl against the rocks for the first time. |
| Dec 8 17:14:00 | 1h 36m | Ludum Fortress | Solid implementation of a typical top down shooter. <br/>likek dallonf already said, the screenflash on spawning or dying enemies is really irritating. Also if an enemy catches up on you, there is no way to get away besides buying a speed upgrade. <br/> <br/>Overall it is a nice more mediocre shooter but it needs more to it. |
| Dec 8 20:22:00 | 3h 08m | I am Sigma | This is a very nice entry which has a lot in it! <br/>The idea and realization are fantastic. The gameplay is actually quite good and the length is appropriate. <br/> <br/>After finishing it with there are only a few things to say for improvement: <br/>1) Once you have colltected an item and die in that level, the item should be reset. Otherwise the way back is actually often given instantly. <br/>2) A little indication before the lasers shoot would be nice. Like a charging light or something. Otherwise you end up jumping right into them quite often. <br/> <br/>Like it very much! |
| Dec 8 20:31:00 | 9m 00s | Emporium of Death and Laughter | The everchanging arena is nicely done. Contributes to the theme very well! Though the weapons need a bit more balancing i think, they are well done. Nicely done within those 48h! |
| Dec 8 20:40:00 | 9m 00s | Peaceful Place | Nice work on the art! Would have loved to see them animated. I saw you already had 4 way 4 frame animation graphics for some of the characters! <br/>Though it`s quite enjoyable to defend yourself against all those invading disturbers of peace and quiet! ;) |
| Dec 8 20:56:00 | 16m 00s | ScreenArena | Well done arena fighting game here! The progression/upgrade system is really nice and the screen shaking effect is not at all as disturbing as i have seen it on many other games. Overall this is a nice base for further development! |
| Dec 8 21:18:00 | 22m 00s | Dungeon Tactics | Looks like i`m missing something. Frame instantly closes with an error message: <br/> <br/>Exception in thread "LWJGL Application" com.badlogic.gdx.utils.GdxRuntimeException: <br/>java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/geometry/Point2D <br/> at com.badlogic.gdx.backends.lwjgl.LwjglApplication$1.run(LwjglApplication.java:120) <br/>Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/geometry/Point2D <br/> at de.renoth.dt.actor.DescriptionBox.createLabels(DescriptionBox.java:49) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.actor.DescriptionBox.<init>(DescriptionBox.java:43) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.actor.ActorWithDescription.createDescriptionBox(ActorWithDescription.java:64) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.game.InventorySlot.setItem(InventorySlot.java:86) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.game.Inventory.fillInitialItems(Inventory.java:45) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.game.Inventory.<init>(Inventory.java:41) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.game.GameWorld.addMenu(GameWorld.java:115) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.game.GameWorld.<init>(GameWorld.java:50) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.screen.GameScreen.<init>(GameScreen.java:20) <br/> at de.renoth.dt.DungeonTacticsGame.create(DungeonTacticsGame.java:17) <br/> ... more |
| Dec 8 22:09:00 | 51m 00s | RobFishing | Nice work on the pixal art! Personaly i love that style! <br/> <br/>What are those upgrades good for? I couldn`t figure out what they do. Also i didn`t receive the golden hook when i bought it. <br/> <br/>Nice little game that could be a pretty good time eater (in a positive way) if you add some music and something a little bit more challenging other than just putting your hook in the water to catch those fishes. |
| Dec 8 22:24:00 | 15m 00s | Just a Little Screen Time | Though i like the idea of the concept, i couldn`t figure out what to do because it is very difficult to interact with things. There is no reliable way of deciding if i just can`t interact with an object (yet) or if i`m just standing slightly of the right spot to do so. That´s what i guess. I maanged only to pickup the bucket and fill it with water but couldn`t do anything with it in any channel. Iy this is polished, this could become a nixe little thing! |
| Dec 8 22:42:00 | 18m 00s | The Operator | This is amazing! I like the idea very much! <br/>You should definitely put some more time into fleshing this out. For the confusing console problems: Probably simply update your map as soon as you have scanned the target so people can recall those IDs even if they don`t see it any more in the console. <br/>I would like to see a follow-up version of this! Great stuff! |
| Dec 8 23:13:00 | 31m 00s | TheBlindMaze | Though this is a very interesting type of approach for a game, i think it lacks a something. i think blind people for example also heavily rely on their tactile feedback when navigating their surroundings. This is something very important. <br/> <br/>I like the idea of it nontheless! Would be nice to see a more fleshed out version of it. |
| Dec 8 23:24:00 | 11m 00s | Meeses | Nice version of a bullet heavy brawler type thing game! ;) <br/>Loved those arrow enemies changing direction in side hits. Music is very good and fits in nicely. The smiley boss made me smile also! |
| Dec 9 11:37:00 | 12h 13m | Upgrade Zero | this is a basic implementation of a top down shooter. quite easy as enemies slow down on approaching you (kamikaze fighters wouldn`t do so, i guess). It seems you have to get to a certain area of the map after clearing a wave to spawn the next one, but i`m not quite sure how it works. You could simplify that by counting alive enemies and starting a timer if the last one dies. Also your shoots get stuck, if you stand with your back on a wall and shoot. |
| Dec 9 11:56:00 | 19m 00s | Start the Screen ! | Nice concept. You need some form of tutorial though otherweise a lot of people will get stuck without even getting into the game. It took me quite a while to understand that i can and how to grab the fire and what do do with it. After i figured that out i managed to get the first blue flame. I can clearly see the way to go but from there it is quite hard to play on. Switching on the flames while jumping to get your landing plattform back is quite hard. The idea is very nice, but it needs a lot more polishing which would be worth it! Do so and i will play it again! |
| Dec 9 12:09:00 | 13m 00s | DGPOS: Defend the Gun Platforms via One Screen | Basic implementation of a shooter/tower defense game. <br/>Though i like the idea quite a bit, there are some things you need to work on, like the red shots coming out of nowhere. You can shoot those, but man they are fast. Enemies only have two routes so you can easily build in a way to shoot them as soon as they enter the screen. Gaining money through shooting seems a little bit unlogical but ok, i can get away with it. Unfortunately it leads only to mashing your mouse button. <br/>In general this thing needs some more polishing in terms of gameplay. The concept of the build and expand part is nice though! |
| Dec 9 12:28:00 | 19m 00s | Save Christmas | A more fleshed out entry. It is quite nice to play but there are a few things i missed like an ammunition counter to know when i have to reload. Also i managed to spawn outside the areay quite a few times so i had to completley restart. I love that you can hide behind trees and the snowman only shoot you when they actually see you! With a bit of bugfixing this is a nice little shooter game! Thumbs up! |
| Dec 9 12:36:00 | 8m 00s | BUMP! | Nice game with interesting ideas. Graphics and sound are really unique and make it outstanding. The game needs some bugfixing though as i touched the floor or could stand on those spiky violett monsters several times without dying. Nice work though! |
| Dec 9 14:41:00 | 2h 05m | Spaceship Jumpy Survival Thingy... Ish? | Not quite one screen, but the mechanics are solid and audio is very nice! This defintively needs more polishing! |
| Dec 9 14:49:00 | 8m 00s | Bot War | Love the idea of not having direct control of your bots! The ai system and graphocs needs some more work on them, but the base is pretty solid and fun to play around with! Would like to see a post LD version of it! |
| Dec 9 14:57:00 | 8m 00s | AntiPlane | Really impressive work! Got stuck at the area with the green sphere but i will play this until i figure it out! I really like this one! |
| Dec 9 15:25:00 | 28m 00s | Marelda | I like the game in generall BUT as an entry for this ludum dare you failed. Sorry, this is not "Entire game on one screen"! Then every game which does not run on dual monitors would be fitting the theme which was not intended. <br/> <br/>Though the generated world seems to be quite good in general you also suffer from unreachable content (like almost every generated game). I appreciate the amount of work you put in it but it needs more polishing. |
| Dec 9 15:33:00 | 8m 00s | GrinderX | I´m not a big fan of bullet hell games. Though this is a solid implementation of one. Nice variety of enemies. Put some background music and actual graphics in it and it is a nice game! Not bad! |
| Dec 9 16:47:00 | 1h 14m | Grind like LudumDare | Well there`s not much in it. It also misses the theme of "Entire game on one screen". Sorry, this needs a lot of work. |
| Dec 9 16:52:00 | 5m 00s | CORE! | Basic defense game with no apparently no bugs in it. The game needs more to though, it is rather repetitive. Some upgrades would be nice! |
| Dec 9 16:55:00 | 3m 00s | Oven | Well, not much of a game. It is on one screen though! Points for that. |
| Dec 9 17:05:00 | 10m 00s | Farm for Space | This needs a workover. Rocks are nearly impossible to dodge (maybe show a shadow on the ground before the rock falls down) and maybe add some more mechanics to it (watering the crops, so they don`t die instead of having them die randomly). <br/>At least it fits the theme! Good effort! |
| Dec 9 17:31:00 | 26m 00s | TDZSG | Basic shooter with solid game mechanics. Lacks a lot to be a finished game, but the basics are done. Add some sound and improve the graphics as next steps. Also my shots didn`t display most of the time. |
| Dec 9 17:35:00 | 4m 00s | Snowman Crossfire! | The controlls need to change. The way they are done right now i find it almost impossible to play. Although the screenshaking every time i hit a wall is very disturbing. This needs some more tweaking although there`s a base! |
| Dec 9 17:45:00 | 10m 00s | The Shelter | Nice defense shooter game with a nice art style. The only two things i have to complain: <br/>1) There`s no music! Shooting zombies with no music is only half the fun! ;) <br/>2) Somewhat more serious: It happened quite often that i lost people because i couldn`t see them in time. This happens at the sides of the screen. |
| Dec 9 17:57:00 | 12m 00s | Follow the screen | Nice idea! Not what i typically call a game but there`s something to it. |
| Dec 9 18:03:00 | 6m 00s | Pixel Pixie | Hard to get in but the idea is nice. You need to tweek the controls i think. There`s too much to do at the same time (moving to the right spot, choosing color, dodge electricity sparks) |
| Dec 9 18:10:00 | 7m 00s | A Major Mystery | Nice approach to the theme. In it current state the game lacks some more mechanics to be really fun. Worth expanding! |
| Dec 10 12:45:00 | 18h 35m | Popao | This is gross! But i like the idea! :D <br/>A solid little puzzle game done very well! <br/>Strange setting, but hey, i`m ok with it! |
| Dec 10 12:53:00 | 8m 00s | Fireguy | Well, there`s still lot`s of work to do to make this a fun game. But hey, as you said: game > no game! Nice try though and thumbs up foro the bomberman! |
| Dec 10 13:12:00 | 19m 00s | Welcome To Shady Pines | Very well done puzzler. Graphics are really nice, sound is cool (only lacks some background music), and the mechanics are well done! Maybe you should highlight windows/doors/etc. when they are introduced to the players to make it easier for them to spot them. Overall nicely done! |
| Dec 10 16:21:00 | 3h 09m | Tragic Error | @mrexcessive: you can drag the circles. <br/> <br/>Very short but interesting so far. I don`t know if there are more supported commands at the door besides the one that progresses you further. Unfortunately it kind of violates the theme of the contest in my opinion... |
| Dec 10 16:30:00 | 9m 00s | Little Dude's Epic Adventure | Very nice little adventure there. Narrator rocks, there`s not much of them in games nowadays... Liked it! |
| Dec 10 16:38:00 | 8m 00s | Caved In | Nice little game, but i don`t understand the boulder movement. It´s quite hard to get them where you want them to be. |
| Dec 10 16:47:00 | 9m 00s | RoomBoy(tm) Cleans Your Home | Nice entry! Had the idea of a remote monitor too, but decided to do something else. Like your approach a lot! |
| Dec 10 16:56:00 | 9m 00s | Fibonacci Grid | Very nice and interesting approach to the theme. Those who are into math will love it! |
| Dec 10 17:17:00 | 21m 00s | Off Screen | Well polished and addicitve little game you made there! Very nice! |
| Dec 10 17:21:00 | 4m 00s | Piano Racer | Didn`t expect this to be addictive as hell! Nice one, well done! |
| Dec 10 17:27:00 | 6m 00s | Teeny Tiny Little Ball | Very fun approach to the topic. Like the dialogue a lot! Well done! |
| Dec 10 17:40:00 | 13m 00s | The Aardvark and the Manatee | Really lovely and absolutely beatiful game! Very well done! <br/>(Although it get`s a little bit repetitive once you get down to 2 or 3 nobs..) |
| Dec 12 19:06:00 | 49h 26m | Worms | Those poor worms! But you got me with the ending! |
| Dec 12 19:15:00 | 9m 00s | Shvoel | Whao, this is quite challenging and fun! Nice variety and a nice soundtrack also. Like it! |
| Dec 12 19:25:00 | 10m 00s | Lord Wars | Really well done strategy game! Although battles are random the game itself is pretty good. Nicely done within the short amount of time! |
| Dec 12 19:41:00 | 16m 00s | Symphony of the night | Although i literally hate music puzzles in general, this is nicely done. Respect for your work here. I struggled a little bit with the last part, but other than that i have nothing to complain about. Great entry! |
| Dec 14 10:45:00 | 39h 04m | Slidey Box | Really nice little game! As said often times before, i could imagine this on mobile devices using the accelerometer as input could be hilarious! Put some sound into it and give it a go! |
| Dec 14 10:51:00 | 6m 00s | Overload | Solid top down shooter! The sounds are a little bit annoying and need to be tuned, but that is a minor complaint given the amount of time. Other than that: Well done! |
| Dec 14 11:17:00 | 26m 00s | TMO | This is really impressive! I´d love to see a more fleshed out version of this! |
