Apr 29 03:42:00 Starvin Stu's Spud Farm Darn bird stealing my potatoes! Only problem I had was that after a while it says I have 8 seeds left but it wouldn't let me plant anymore.
Apr 29 03:57:00 15m 00s COLORFORM I like the idea, but it really needs a way to skip the tutorial messages after you die.
Apr 29 04:20:00 23m 00s YLBIN Reminds me of the days when I would play the snakes game that came bundled with QBasic (Nibbles)
Apr 29 04:41:00 21m 00s Cutris I like the concept, but I think it would have been a little more playable if there was a side view in addition to the overhead view.
Apr 29 05:22:00 41m 00s Mnmlsm I figured out how to put the clutter in by standing back a bit when grabbing the cubes and spheres. However, there's still too much clutter to move in such a short period of time. Adding another 60 seconds would have made it more playable.
Apr 29 05:45:00 23m 00s Digging For A Potato I ate the only potato in the world... I'm so selfish. :D
Apr 29 22:00:00 16h 15m Lightbyrinth Got stuck in a wall on level 5 and couldn't finish. Otherwise, great maze game!
Apr 30 04:08:00 6h 08m unessential I thought the outcomes were completely random at first, then I realized that once defeated it shows the opponent's attack frequency, which allows you to appropriately counter their moves the next time you meet them. However, the final boss uses each attack equally so it really is a crap shoot.
Apr 30 04:17:00 9m 00s Lookin for Love <3 This game seemed to have allusions to Kid Icarus for the NES, such as collecting oversized hearts and falling through the bottom of the screen leading to death.
Apr 30 04:42:00 25m 00s Folding Nice innovative idea, but I'll admit I was just randomly trying things until level 5. That's when I really grasped what I needed to do to complete the levels. However, level 9 completely stumped me.
Apr 30 04:57:00 15m 00s dotLife Nice, I liked how damage taken is represented by the pixelization of the graphics.
May 1 23:52:00 42h 55m Conveyor 3362 was my best score
May 2 00:03:00 11m 00s Potatosimplificationarmaggedon Reminded me a lot of games like de Blob 2 and Unfinished Swan, where the game starts out blank and you use color to bring life to the world. I couldn't find the potato that fixes flatness. Some background music could have helped set the mood.
May 2 01:03:00 1h 00m Quest Seems like a cross between the Legend of Zelda and Minecraft, or a 3D Dot Game Heroes in first person view.
May 2 01:14:00 11m 00s Speedy Blocks I couldn't ever catch the potato
May 2 02:57:00 1h 43m Bounce Sort of like throwing spaghetti against the wall to see if it will stick, except in pixelated form
May 2 03:44:00 47m 00s Mr. Minimal The graphics are nice, but a walk animation could have made it a little better. Mr. Minimal looks like he's frozen when he moves.
May 2 04:00:00 16m 00s Be Still This man can control the sun, moon, and time itself just by sitting. He is truly a god!
May 2 04:13:00 13m 00s Potato Gnomes Online I like the three person play controls. I think this would be great for couch co-op, but it really doesn't work on the web since you can't communicate with your partners.
May 2 04:23:00 10m 00s DeaN Neat concept. I quit after about 600 points because it seemed like nothing was happening and it was stuck in a loop.
May 2 04:55:00 32m 00s Colossal Clean-Up Took me a few tries to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. I'm one of those impatient types who doesn't read instructions. It's a really nice novel concept for a game. Having the character move more slowly as more junk is picked up was a nice touch. The time constraint on some of the later levels seemed a little extreme, especially when you have to start moving bookcases that can't be thrown out the window.
May 3 03:13:00 22h 18m Controlled State This game reminds me of how lucky I am to live in a free society.
May 3 03:27:00 14m 00s O o . I usually don't like hand-holding in games, but I was completely lost on what I was supposed to do in this game.
May 3 03:39:00 12m 00s #Totally BS!: Episode Pilot I really didn't understand what was going on until I clicked on the map. Neat concept. It reminds me of plotting out sectors in the BBS game Trade Wars 2002.
May 3 03:44:00 5m 00s Squeeps The growling was so creepy!
May 3 04:11:00 27m 00s Chez Angelo Those box head guys are really bizarre.
May 3 04:24:00 13m 00s Completely backwards I won... or did I?
May 3 23:39:00 19h 15m _M_ The learning curve seemed on this one seemed a little steep to me. Maybe start people out by making them only have to make one or two triangles white, then on a later level make them fill all seven.
May 4 05:30:00 5h 51m Bezier Challenge Awesome game! Taking a simple concept like making bezier curves and turning it into a game is a brilliant idea.
May 5 01:05:00 19h 35m Balls Balls Balls Nice little game. Reminds me of a cross between mini-gold and billiards.
May 5 01:36:00 31m 00s Platonic Dot Solid Could't figure out what to do on the last boss, otherwise great game!
May 5 01:46:00 10m 00s Wandering Darkness Too many leaps of faith needed, otherwise a solid game.
May 5 02:51:00 1h 05m Potato Dungeon Nice gameplay and graphics. Reminded me a lot of games like Adventures of Link and A Link to the Past.
May 5 03:12:00 21m 00s DIG QUEST Deluxe: ASCII Mining Adventure Really liked the graphics style in this game. Reminds me of old BBS door games. DOS ASCII character 01 is my hero!
May 5 03:29:00 17m 00s Brutaliz'Art LD26 This game really lets the player let out some pent-up aggression.
May 5 09:22:00 5h 53m Execute Liked the method of queuing up attacks to take out enemies. The camera had problems following the player on the second level, but I was able to use the YouTube video as a guide to beat it.
May 5 09:36:00 14m 00s Maximalism The secret level was very interesting.
May 5 09:49:00 13m 00s Minianimalism! Neat concept. Reminds me of the creature creator in Spore. Interesting use of the body parts to remove various senses.
May 5 09:57:00 8m 00s Dodge Got to have quick reflexes in this one. I made it up to level 3.
May 5 10:11:00 14m 00s Don't Hit The Core Really neat puzzle game. The first Unity link didn't work for me, however the Version 2.0 ran with no problems. I'll admit, I hit the core!
May 5 23:20:00 13h 09m Mondrian Click Liked the concept of the ripples blocking your clicks. Really made me think of which circle I should click next.
May 5 23:31:00 11m 00s Minimalist Horror Story Really liked the atmosphere and lighting effects. Having the key randomly placed each time gives me a reason to play it again.
May 5 23:43:00 12m 00s Cube Colors Really liked the concept and matching colors to open the door. Maybe limit it to three colors to start out with, because trying to match the exact shade of a door could be frustrating sometimes. Also, maybe show the RGB triplet on the doors and player so that it would be easier to determine which combination of blocks is required to open the door. Great job on this one. Hope to see more levels soon!
May 5 23:55:00 12m 00s Angry Viking vs Minimalist Hipsters Nice artwork and music. Took a minute to figure out that I was supposed to be attacking the door. Great sense of humor on this one, and the first cross between hipsters and vikings that I've seen.
May 6 00:09:00 14m 00s True treasure of Kartoffelschloss Interesting concept of having to give up a weapon after each level. I couldn't make it past the last? level where you only have the dagger.
May 6 00:27:00 18m 00s PRISMA Neat concept, but I couldn't figure out why the spheres would randomly change colors on the Patriot level. The music was worked in seamlessly, and one of the songs reminded me of the theme to the People's Court.
May 6 00:40:00 13m 00s Steve Can't Zen Really cute and nice storytelling. Why won't they just let Steve Zen?
May 6 00:53:00 13m 00s IN MALI SOMMI I really like the unique reflection concept. Having the both rotation and fine tuned rotation controls really helped. Game froze on my on about the fourth level where you need the three red orbs to chase you to open the door.
May 6 01:08:00 15m 00s Tower of Pixel Really liked the art style and theme. Wish the digging was a little faster and there was some indication of the objective and progress.
May 6 01:23:00 15m 00s RedShot Nice minimalist FPS shooter. Sometimes the enemies would try to spawn on top of me, but I found that the best way to win is to stand in the corner to reduce the chances of enemies getting you from behind.
May 6 01:35:00 12m 00s MIN Not too bad, especially after I got to the top and got the weapon. The menace could really give people nightmares!
May 6 01:56:00 21m 00s Spellbox Nice twist on the classic word find game.
May 6 23:09:00 21h 13m Essense Really liked the atmosphere in this game. Sort of like being an angel jumping through heaven. I'm just not a fan of the first person platforming.
May 6 23:13:00 4m 00s tequilaJumper I like the simplicity of this game. The jumps can be a little floaty.
May 6 23:29:00 16m 00s Drug Hunt Nice visuals. Took some guesswork to figure out when to press space.
May 6 23:47:00 18m 00s Neverending bricks Really innovative approach to freshen-up the old Breakout/Arkanoid formula.
May 7 02:40:00 2h 53m ... I really enjoyed this puzzler. Simple concept, but also really fun. Some of the later levels really made me think about when was the best time to release the barriers.
May 7 02:58:00 18m 00s Mondrianalism I really enjoyed this little puzzler. Displaying the area sizes was a good design decision, otherwise it would have been too hard to play. I didn't notice any bugs.
May 7 03:21:00 23m 00s Floating Point I really liked the two world concept in this adventure game. Technically, the two browser concept is an impressive accomplishment, but I really wouldn't want to open two browsers every time to play a game. I could see this game being a hit on a two screen system like the 3DS, but unfortunately it only allows one screen for input.
May 7 03:35:00 14m 00s Get The Potato Impressive how the lights are sync'ed with the audio. Count me as another who got suck on the purple glass box. I tried pressing keys but no luck. I should have tried smashing the keyboard, but this is my last good one left and it's too late to go out and buy a new one. ;D
May 7 03:52:00 17m 00s My Peculiar Car I liked the little gear shifting mini-game. Sometimes the cacti in the road could be a little overwhelming. 85% was my best score.
May 8 05:50:00 25h 58m Min I also thought of it being a cross between Kirby and Mega Man. I couldn't get past the red/blue bird twins boss, since it gave me little time to react, but that's how the bosses in Mega Man were. Good job!
May 9 05:19:00 23h 29m Exit Nice little game, and I really enjoyed the jokes by the narrator throughout the game.
May 9 05:35:00 16m 00s BASHLAND - Breakout Mario Mashup I never knew that destroying Mushroom Kingdom with a bouncy supernova could be so fun.
May 10 03:20:00 21h 45m Life/Routine Neat little music maker game. Some of the music reminded me of the "Haunting Torgo Theme" from Manos Hands of Fate on MST3K. I couldn't tell if there was a correct time to add/remove the notes, or if it's up to the player to make their own music.
May 10 03:36:00 16m 00s U Neat concept of being restricted in one plane of movement. I gave up on "Maniac", even after watching tutorial video. Just couldn't time it right to collide with the other saw.
May 10 03:52:00 16m 00s Potato YOU WIN! Yay! I really enjoyed this game, but I am a little biased towards collect-em-up type games. This game just shows that not every LD entry has to be a brain-melter to be good. The only improvement that I would suggest would be a map or arrow showing where the remaining potatoes are. It's sort of a pain to backtrack to the beginning to get a potato missed early in the level.
May 10 04:47:00 55m 00s Kriok This reminds me a lot of the block on ice puzzles in games like A Link to the Past. Level 3 and 4 had me stumped for awhile, but I finally got it. I gave up on level 5.
May 10 05:01:00 14m 00s ProductionVille I like the concept and art style. I've always liked the production side of RTSes and cared less for the battles. I was able to place the buildings for production (mine, lumber mill, etc), but I never knew if there were workers harvesting anything. Maybe some meters showing how much stone, lumber, potatoes, etc you have would help.
May 10 05:20:00 19m 00s Pete Hated Circles This reminded me of a game back in the day called Jezzball, which came on a Windows 3.1 bonus pack. I like the new artistic take on the game.
May 10 05:28:00 8m 00s 'moeba Cute... now I know what it's like to live a day in the life of an amoeba.
May 10 05:42:00 14m 00s Stijl The color mixing mechanic reminded me a lot of de Blob. I like the 2D platforming approach that you took with it.
May 10 05:55:00 13m 00s Paint Tanks I liked how the game freshens up the tactical RPG formula by using army tanks. The second level seemed like it could use a little more variety, since it seemed like whoever got the first shot in would win.
May 10 22:32:00 16h 37m Hipster Pad This is one of the more enjoyable puzzlers that I've played for LD26. Easy to get into, and the puzzles make you think, but it's not so difficult that it's aggravating. I do wish that I had the ability to rotate the furniture pieces, which would add another level of depth to the game. Also, it would be nice to have the furniture pieces snap to the grid, because I would spend a lot of time trying to align the pieces on the rug. Good job!
May 10 22:39:00 7m 00s Robot Hears Kitten Really liked the use of sounds in this game.
May 10 22:55:00 16m 00s Stalker Nice art style in this game. I got to the screen with the red and blue houses and couldn't do anything, so I assumed that was the end. Don't mess with that turret!
May 10 23:05:00 10m 00s Digital H Sort of like polygonal heart surgery. But the objective is to stop the heart?
May 10 23:07:00 2m 00s UFO Invaders Love Steak Neat concept. I'd definitely like to see the completed version.
May 10 23:22:00 15m 00s Land of the Free The atmosphere was nice. It was a little heavy on the text, and having to keep the mouse centered to walk forward was a little awkward.
May 10 23:39:00 17m 00s Budget Squad Nice concept of using two submarines with different abilities. It would have been neat if you could control both at the same time, eliminating the need to press space to switch between the two.
May 10 23:54:00 15m 00s Gods Will Be Watching Really unique idea. It's like a futuristic cross between the Oregon Trail and Gilligan's Island. If only they had the Professor to repair the radio. I made it 14 days and had the radio at 43/50. I'll probably come back to this one later to see what happens when the radio is fully repaired. My only issue was that it seemed to be a little to easy to kill your own camp members. I killed the robot guy early on by accident.
May 11 00:03:00 9m 00s Weapons of Minimal Destruction Neat idea of getting the lowest possible score. My lowest was 590,790
May 11 00:41:00 38m 00s Swimming Fool Nice graphics. The difficulty curve seems to be a little steep, as I could not get past the first checkpoint with the three suns. Leaves very little room for error.
May 11 00:58:00 17m 00s Battery Neat idea. I like how the Game B... err.. um... hand held gaming device tilts as you press left or right.
May 11 04:52:00 3h 54m The Sentient Cube Nice Katamari clone. Sometimes the controls felt a little floaty, but it was still true to the original.
May 11 20:13:00 15h 21m Life! Neat life simulator. Now if real life was as simple as pressing the correct home row key. I really liked the music as well.
May 11 20:38:00 25m 00s Escape the Tower Neat game. I wouldn't even know how to begin programming a Game Boy Advanced game. It ran in my emulator, VBA-M on Ubuntu Linux with no problems.
May 12 06:38:00 10h 00m Buggers! Nice entry, I played all the way to the end. Those roaches are so sneaky! The levels were well thought out, and it's the first game that I played where bug spray is a weapon since Donkey Kong 3.
May 13 02:56:00 20h 18m Swatch I'm having the same problem as Guardian_Bob. I see the popup window but it just displays a blank square (Firefox 20) I also tried it with Opera with the same result.
May 16 03:08:00 72h 12m 9 Neat game and nice layering concept. I wasn't expecting much after playing through layer 1, then I was pleasantly surprised. Layer 9 was tough, but I eventually managed to complete it.
May 16 03:13:00 5m 00s Sprawl Nice buildings and shadow effects.
May 16 03:18:00 5m 00s Untitled My cat liked the beeping sounds.
May 16 03:23:00 5m 00s Square Took me a minute to figure out what was going on here, but I think the point is to keep pressing space to keep the little guy between the walls. I would be interested in seeing this one when it's completed.
May 16 03:34:00 11m 00s Robot Yay, I got to the You Win room. Getting around the pink shooters was tricky at times.
May 16 04:05:00 31m 00s A Cheap Atari Game Nice, I actually beat the boss and got the End screen. Reminded me a lot of Castlevania.
May 16 04:10:00 5m 00s beTween Neat concept. Reminds me of staring at spinning records when I was a kid. I got to the fourth or fifth level where you're surrounded by red circles.
