| Aug 28 01:39:00 | Meatify | Interesting take on the theme, it seems quite dull at first but gets more challenging later on. Good cutscenes and humour! Clicking the tiles in the lower corners seemed to quit the game, and the interface could be a bit clearer, but good job in the time! | |
| Aug 28 12:10:00 | 10h 31m | Boxy the Boxcat in Evolution Escapades | A cute game, with lots of humour! |
| Aug 28 13:05:00 | 55m 00s | Temple of Evolution | I liked the realisation of what I was supposed to do in the tortoise room, it wasn't explained but I managed to figure it out :) The graphics look lovely! |
| Aug 28 13:19:00 | 14m 00s | DrinkMilk | We played this multiplayer, and it's quite fun! You have to be very precise to pick up the powerups, it's too easy to miss and sail past. |
| Aug 28 14:01:00 | 42m 00s | Fit to Fight | It's quite entertaining, but the combat is pretty bad. Also if there are two of you in agreement, you can get high stats by intentionally getting killed when your mutation is negative |
| Aug 28 15:55:00 | 1h 54m | MiniEvolution | It's really hard to click the icons when they start to scroll quickly! |
| Sep 4 17:38:00 | 169h 43m | E-VOLV | This is good, it is fun to gain extra weapons on the side until you're a huge ball of guns, although it gets very frantic. The difficulty curve is actually quite good, I can't beat the boss but it keeps me coming back to try again! |
| Sep 4 19:01:00 | 1h 23m | ColourTron | Perhaps a little more explanation as to how the colours interact might be useful, I tried it for a while but couldn't figure out what to do. I really like the hacking interface though :) and the idea of hacking objects in the game. Also the music doesn't work in Firefox. |
| Sep 4 19:05:00 | 4m 00s | Besugo | Sorry, didn't work on Windows 7 64bit: <br/> <br/>Init SDL <br/>Get Video Info <br/>Screen size 1600x900 <br/>Selected scale 3x <br/>Creating temporal QVGA backbuffer <br/>Starting music engine <br/>Loading sound/music.ogg <br/> <br/>Nothing in stdout or stderr |
| Sep 4 19:11:00 | 6m 00s | The Falling | This looked amusing, and the opening screens were nice, but I kept instantly dying and having to watch 30-second adverts to play again. |
| Sep 4 19:20:00 | 9m 00s | Aargh, Invaders | This is crazy, there are so many enemies at the start of the game, and many of the attack patterns just kill me instantly! Also lots of the enemies were completely invisible. It seems odd that you can't ever lose, but instead just keep losing points until they are negative |
| Sep 4 19:36:00 | 16m 00s | Evolution of Business | This is very entertaining! It kept me going for a good 10 minutes. I was disappointed however when I reached $10,000 and nothing happened. Also then I realised that you could just crash into hippies and get negative armour instead of losing. |
| Sep 4 19:52:00 | 16m 00s | Primordial Guard | This is an interesting game, I like the way natural selection is used in a gameplay system! Sometimes it seemed that the cells would refuse to evolve to move in the direction I wanted them to though. You could certainly expand this idea. |
| Sep 7 12:22:00 | 64h 30m | The Fromagist | Both links point to the same place (http://pastehtml.com/view/c9kauorev.html) and neither of them work |
| Sep 9 13:48:00 | 49h 26m | Human Evolution | Works smoothly but collision detection is painful, feels like I get hit when I shouldn't. Too tricky, felt like I had to spend all of my level ups on health as there was no other way to heal. Consistent, if simple art style. Sound was repetitive and hard on the ears. |
| Sep 9 13:51:00 | 3m 00s | Human Evolution | Interesting idea that feels more like time travel than evolution, unfortunately. The spinning paintings made me laugh. Good effort! Congratulations! You finally found a game that does not risk YOUR LIFE! |
| Sep 9 13:54:00 | 3m 00s | Firefly | Well made, lovely graphics and music. Tutorial should be less verbose, just stick to explaining the controls and the general concept and goal, not explaining the minutae. Hard to understand how to influence the gameplay, but relaxing and thoughtful regardless. Good job! |
| Sep 9 13:55:00 | 1m 00s | Evolution is the Key | Good idea, but feels more like you're following the history of games rather than evolution. Liked the variety idea but the "ghost boss" fires undodgeable shots and can't be hurt later on due to the blob spawns, making it impossible to see the rest of the game. Painful gunshot sounds too. |
| Sep 9 13:57:00 | 2m 00s | Unfinished Evolution Entry | Strange idea. Liked listening to the sounds build up into music, would have been interesting to see where it had gone if you'd finished it. |
| Sep 9 14:02:00 | 5m 00s | Super Genome: Hyper Evolution Turbo Edition | Movement is weird and too fast; difficult to understand the game idea and can't find a way to heal, which makes seem losing inevitable. |
| Sep 9 14:02:00 | 0s | dai'narcur | Had a nice atmosphere and music, but controls were too slow and ponderous to make it fun. Needed a different background as to begin with I thought all I could do was rotate, interesting optical illusion. |
| Sep 9 14:14:00 | 12m 00s | Game Of City Life | I enjoyed this and played it for a few hours! I didn't quite understand all of the interactions, but it's fun to experiment and try things out. I really like the wireframe graphics and ambient music! |
| Sep 10 06:52:00 | 16h 38m | Plan M | Very funny! I laughed out loud at several points! |
| Sep 17 16:07:00 | 177h 15m | Cannibal Slugmage of Eden | I couldn't see what the challenge is - the slugs never attacked so I was free to just roam around and eat them until I could cast the Dawn spell |
| Sep 17 16:08:00 | 1m 00s | Pixels through time | I get this error: <br/> <br/>C:\Users\jonathan\Downloads>java -jar "pixels through time.jar" <br/>Exception in thread "main" java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException <br/> at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) <br/> at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) <br/> at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) <br/> at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) <br/> at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.jarinjarloader.JarRsrcLoader.main(JarRsrcLoa <br/>der.java:58) <br/>Caused by: java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems: <br/> g cannot be resolved to a variable <br/> Syntax error, insert "}" to complete Block <br/> <br/> at pixels.ac.<init>(ac.java:25) <br/> at pixels.ab.<init>(ab.java:11) <br/> at pixels.aa.main(aa.java:11) <br/> ... 5 more |
| Sep 17 16:12:00 | 4m 00s | Contagion | Great! I am very impressed with the graphical touches, such as the blur at the screen edges, the way the cells "construct" from the edges of other cells, how the hexagon spaces highlight when you mouse over them... <br/> <br/>Unfortunately it's not very clear exactly what effect some of the cells are having. Sometimes I place assassin cells which drain neighbouring cells to about half health, but then do no more damage. Sometimes cells do lots of damage, sometimes they don't. It seems more efficient to place 15 regular cells all generating DNA, than one producer cell for the same cost. |
| Sep 17 16:21:00 | 9m 00s | Evolution Gem | It's good, but really difficult! I keep running into things and dying, even on easy mode :( |
| Sep 17 16:33:00 | 12m 00s | Primordia | Good fun! It is a bit infuriating to lose right at the end though, after 3 minutes of dodging. |
| Sep 17 16:41:00 | 8m 00s | Infection | An interesting idea, and quite fun to see all the child viruses spread around by themselves! Without a background texture, sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm moving or the cells are moving. |
| Sep 17 17:14:00 | 33m 00s | Robo[R]Evolution | Excellent graphics! It all looks and sounds very professional, especially the intro and story. However it seems quite stingy with the number of turrets you get - I got to wave 7 and didn't have nearly enough firepower to defend the battery. |
| Sep 17 17:20:00 | 6m 00s | Zombie 0 | Could be a fun idea, but it's far too easy to be spotted by humans turning around instantly. Good effort though! |
| Sep 17 17:23:00 | 3m 00s | Lab (R)Evolution | This is an interesting idea, I could suggest many improvements but I won't since it's clearly unfinished :) Better luck next time! |
| Sep 17 17:39:00 | 16m 00s | Colorlies | I love the music in this! As for the actual game, it feels like there are some clever things going on that I don't understand, or that I'm not aware of. I'm not really sure what effect I'm having on things beyond causing catastrophies to reduce the population of a particular colour. Otherwise it's a nice ambient game :) |
| Sep 17 17:55:00 | 16m 00s | 42 Stories | The graphics and sound are very good, they have quite a Monty Python feel to them :) The game is interesting, but like other people have said, a winning strategy is to build an offensive tower and then keep building marketplaces until you have loads of money. <br/> <br/>Also it would be nice if the costs were displayed somewhere, especially after upgrading! |
| Sep 17 18:16:00 | 21m 00s | Disease | The game has quite a SNES Zelda feel to it, even the music! It's a shame that for the first few screens there isn't much to do. I like the messages in the top telling you how to play :) |
