Rise Of The Owls Very professional graphics and a well fleshed-out, substantial and most of all fun game. Cracking stuff!
Towerball I just had to keep playing this until the levels looped. The sounds were minimal but used excellently. The game itself is well designed and well executed. Its the little features such as the radar and the limited dampening ability which make this so playable. It took a while to get the hang of, but after that initial period the controls became quite intuitive - I was able to judge the right power for different platform heights and learned to apply the dampening in short bursts. I did find one bug - occasionally the ball would pass through a corner and fall inside the walls. But all in all a very good entry - well done!
Demonic Tower I had a lot of fun playing this. It had music(!) - good music at that - and the sound effects(!) were well placed. The gameplay was inventive and challenging, strategic but still fun and surprising thanks to the card system. The graphics were reasonable but faces on the cards would have been nice. A small issue I had with the gameplay was that the card effects had names which were used when they wore off, but this was confusing as these names were not mentioned in the card descriptions before I played the cards. All in all a great game!
Tower Collapse The detonations are extremely satisfying. I probably just haven't figured out a good strategy yet, but the wooden walls seem very expensive.
Breaking the Tower Incredible. The pixel art is amazing - you really squeezed a lot of motion out of such tiny sprites. The sounds are well chosen and the game itself is highly enjoyable. A true salute to Settlers with the added cool of spinny-rotatey-ness. An awesome achievement in 48 hours.
Tower of Abba!! Final!!! I had trouble getting this running. I was missing "d3dx9_36.dll" but installing the latest version of directx 9 solved this. But then running with DirectX, the tower would always explode at the start of the game. Running with OpenGL worked, except it was rendering the people as black squares. I probably need the latest OpenGL/graphics driver/whatever. The game seems like a novel idea.
My The graphics were pretty although this was mostly due to the rendering technology rather than the design. The level designs were clever and made me stop and think in places. A fun game which I was sorry to see the end of.
AkinTower Ready The graphics are excellent, with so much work put into the animations and little extra touches. The game mechanics are made interesting with the varying levels of destructable armour, but holding down the mouse button and casting fireballs I was able to hold off every wave, so it was a little on the easy side.
Steam Tower The pipes are really cool - a big well done on writing the physics for them from scratch. I just wish there had been more of a challenge to the game.
done I had some rendering issues with this, but that seems to be a recurring thing with all of the OpenGL-based entries I've played so I think I must be in need of a driver update or something. The sprite colours seemed to be inverted and there were black boxes around the text. Also, if I left the text on the screen for a while before hitting enter, the game would run very quickly as if it was catching up the time again. All this aside, this is a very cool, very substantial platform game made all the more sweet by the 3d background. The graphics are alright, for what they are, and the game makes good use of sound.
Escape From The Tower of DOOM Kept me playing for ages - simple but very effective gameplay. The appearance of a second level was a very pleasant surprise. Some kind of fullscreen mode might make it a little easier on the eyes.
Teenage Mathant Ninja Tower I quickly ran out of equals signs. Its a nice idea though and the tetris implementation is perfect
Up! My towers have a habit of falling apart immediately after I place new cannons and I can't see a reason why :S
The Tower of You Very cool. It took me a few games to really get to grips with how the game worked as the instructions were a little lacking and I think that some of the subtleties of the game rules were still lost on me. The territory borders were a little hard to make out sometimes, especially where the red and green territories were touching - maybe they could be drawn slightly inside the tiles. A way to indicate when a tile can be taken over would be cool as well. The gameplay is deep and strategic and very well thought out. I hope you\'ll consider adding a 2-player mode :)
Control Tower Nice use of the tower theme. The game gets nice and frantic as it starts to speed up - it works well. I think it would have greatly benefited from a custom mouse cursor and maybe some kind of explosion graphic when the aircraft collide.
WeatherTower – Binary Build Done + Win32 Build! I found it very difficult to aim the lightning - the shadows under the clouds seem a bit misleading. Also I think the villages should begin in clearings to give the player a fighting chance. An innovative idea though, and the graphics are sweet.
Title Unknown Well testing this over a lan, we found a bug where one player could jump higher than the other, meaning a level could be committed that other other player couldn't complete. I really like the concept though. And implementing any kind of lan game in 48 hours is mighty impressive - well done!
Cat Stacker (Final Entry) I'm glad you spent time tweaking the friction and such because the result is a stack-em-up which is much more forgiving and a lot more fun than some of the similar games I've played in this competition. Nice pixels, too!
Falling Towers Had to install python and pygame to get it to run. The gameplay is... unique. It seems like if I click on everything that falls I should, in theory, eventually win. Maybe with some more features added it could become more of a challenge - at the moment it just feels like the computer destroying everything I create, over which I have no control.
Covenant – Brick Tower Fun, but gets hard very quickly. Maybe the early levels should have had much smaller areas to fill in - like level 1, only single-block columns to fill so you only have to worry about colours matching vertically. Level 2, you introduce 2-block columns so the player has to deal with blocks matching sideways. Level 3, you add 3-block columns and the difficulty that arises from them, etc.
Super Tower Ascent 2 The download is huge! And the game seems to get easier the higher up the wall you get because of how slowly the nets fall. The music was cool.
Incoming Fodder Final drZool There seemed to be a bug whereby monsters would get stuck where there used to be a casino. Also the casinos seem to be extremely cheap and generate an obscene amount of coins very quickly. Some mechanic to limit this is needed I think. The graphics and sound were cool :)
Treasure Tower Nice graphics and a pretty solid platform engine. Well done!
Towlr – 2 Hour Game Clever.
Tower There isn't really any need to change angle or power as long as you can keep killing the soldiers in the same place. Maybe something like random wind speed would shake things up a bit. I like the way you can move up and down the tower.
Crystal Towers Beta -Final- The replay feature is a nice touch. Altogether a well polished phys-tris game. Sound would have added that extra dimension though.
Tower Infinite I seemed to have rendering issues with this game - the framerate was fairly low and the portals were lacking transparency - but this is probably because I need to update my graphics driver. I like the idea of the procedurally-generated levels, though some variation in the enemies would helped keep things interesting.
Moonbase Defense A more mouse-based control system was sorely needed and some crazy graphical bug with the gun towers made it unplayable in the end, sadly. The graphics were cool however.
Pfff – fin Couldn't get this to start. I tried installing XNA redistributable 1.0 and 2.0, but no luck.
Commander Blunt I couldn't really make sense of the game, but with a little more work it would probably become something quite inventive.
Tau I love the style and humour of the graphics - its a shame the game seems to be impossible to win :(
Holy Pineapples I spent most of the time stuck inside objects which fell on me. Too chaotic to even try to play. The music was cool though :D
TowerAssault0 Sorry to hear about your troubles with Flex. Well its very playable for an hour's work, and the graphics are nice
done for now I couldn't get it running either. "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no j3dcore-d3d in java.library.path". I tried putting the jar files in lib directory in the classpath, but to no avail
