LD44 — Your life is currency

PigsyBanksy by Joel Davis 2019-05-03T05:52:06Z

This is very well done.

I like how the theme was perfectly used in this game. It is also very noticeable that you did include sounds and even music.

The art style of the pigsy banksy is also really neat and although the pigsy banksy seems to be a bit too big at times, it is really easy and smooth to play.

Good job!

Explosive Escape by exilegl 2019-05-06T21:42:18Z

It is a nice and complete game.

At first I didn't get the upgrading system and the "ghosty ships" confused me a bit. Also the abrupt speed decline but rather slow acceleration was a bit funky but other than that it was a good and complete game with just enough visual and sound effects.

Good Job!

DEADline by SecretPocketCat 2019-05-08T11:25:55Z

Well done game! The first few rounds it is really hard to get into the game but after a while you know what you have to do to get further upwards. I really like how the style of the game is built into the menus! The sense of humor is also really good (length does matter). At points it is simply a bit too hard to switch from typing to jumping, maybe that could be separated a bit more but other than that I really loved the idea and the game. Fantastic Job!

DEADline by SecretPocketCat 2019-05-09T13:43:11Z

@SecretPocketCat I think it is rather, switching from typing to the arrow keys. But I must say that it is quiet hard to dertermine. And thanks for answering on the jokes :)

Brain Drain by svdvorak 2019-04-30T14:55:42Z

A big plus is probably that I saw the thumbnail and was interested. It seems like a fun idea and I really liked the artstyle of it.

Sadly I didn't know exactly how my choices of putting them in order had an impact on the game and so I felt better connecting them randomly to the tasks. I also didn't get when the people would disappear and when they would get a burn out. The visuals for the individual happiness was hard to indicate.

I also have a crash to report. The game sometimes broke down. My instinct tells me that it has to do with the process of dragging the linking while the person gets "inactive" or something similar.

But overall my suggestion would be to slow down the speed of the game in order to have time to understand some mechanics of the game and maybe add some more isuals to indicate certain processes a bit better.

Holy Shit!

The mood is literally 6 out of 5!

It is a very good/spooky game especially with the sound design.

Sadly the theme itself is not really matched but the game itself is insanely good even with the rather low graphic quality. Nice Job!

Robots' life is Currency by gecco.xyz 2019-04-30T14:13:15Z

The game makes a good first impression. The mechanics and the graphics are well done. Sadly the robot voice is hard to understand and therefore the already short storyline is hard to understand.

There is definitely potential in this game. The foundation is there but it simply lacks in gameplay.

Boredom Be Gone by InsanityCode 2019-04-30T14:21:02Z

I am trying it on my school computer (obviously not the best) and I had probably the same error and after continuing an endless loading screen.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Election Simulator 2019 Island Edition by smbe19 2019-10-09T21:12:16Z

First of all thank you for the rather rare approach of a more code/story based game. It is a difficult field for such a short period of time. I like that the theme "start with nothing" has been utilized a bit more in this game because you are actually an unknown politician, trying to make a career. The graphics are also perfectly fine for the game. However it was really hard for me to get into the game because nothing is really explained at the start. I was left to figure out the different possibilities and features on my own and failed miserably (who's my character, what are these positions I can apply for, etc.). Because of that I was quickly frustrated and sadly stopped playing the game. A small tutorial or introduction might have helped me to get into the game. And get me hooked for a while.

Also a small bug report -> the mute sound/music buttons didn't work for me

Election Simulator 2019 Island Edition by smbe19 2019-10-09T21:28:29Z

@smbe19 I absolutely get what you mean and it is really hard create an easy to get into game on first try. It requires a lot of fine tuning.

Boho in BALLER LAND by Cameron Taylor 2019-10-09T22:13:39Z

First of all I want to mention the cool comic arts used in the game. Although I was confused at first by not being notified to "skip" or "proceed" I found my way to the main menu then game. The graphics were all put together very well and the character and in-game arts fits the comic art perfectly. Sadly the game itself was way too hard for me to be able to stay in the game for more than 10 seconds because I got beaten down so fast but I do appreciate the art nonetheless.

A Horse Called Nothing by jefvel 2019-10-09T21:24:51Z

Very nice game! Good looking graphics, unique game play idea, entertaining sounds added and a decent playable game on hand. The mechanic sadly looses it's appeal after a while but definitely puts a charm to the game. The sounds are a bit annoying on endless repeat but for 5 minutes it's completely fine. All the game mechanics are well implemented and I didn't find any bugs or exploits. It is a nice addition that you are getting more helpers during level progression. Sadly I never got to the end because it is somewhat hard and I hadn't had enough patients to retry it 4-5 times but I still had my fun. Good work here!

Nothing by Spiced Pigeon 2019-10-08T12:47:46Z

It is too bad that I was already familiar with that concept and have seen it mulitplayer based already because the whole excitement went away like that but I still like it very much especially that you are able to draw your own pictures for the elements. It adds a unique flavour to it.

From Nothing to Civilization by Bennet 2019-10-09T12:39:13Z

It is hard for me to rate this game because it definitely does not fall in my normal gaming category but it is not something I need to expect from Ludum Dare.

I like the neat graphics and the respawning forest. It confused me a bit that the trees showed different numbers per click and it was not explained what each of the buildings really do and what the upgrades where for but the main aspect of clicking the trees was pretty straight forward :) I liked that you had a level progression visible with your growing town. And an end goal with the castle. Though overall it lacks a bit in variety/features (wow, a clicker game has not many components). Maybe a fishery that works like the mine could have added a bit more content. But even though game paly was not able to offer me variety I did enjoy the graphics and the sounds from the game that gave me a bit of a reward. Keep up the good work :)

VoidTech by loganthemanster 2019-10-08T17:23:21Z

I liked the way you created the story and the way you put in little jokes here and there. An initial hint to use a key to interact with things would have been helpful but once found out it is pretty straight forward. I must say that I was a bit disappointed when the plot suddenly ended by going to sleep again. I thought that the story would develop a bit more but who am I blaming. 72h... Well Done!

Cubehead by BntRpnw 2019-10-09T12:27:28Z

Thank you all for your feedback! We can related to many of the problems mentioned with the keyboard layout, the steep learning curve and the overall difficulty. But we are happy to see that you still seem to enjoy the game. Thank You!

Spooktober Survival by LeBossMax2 2019-10-08T17:40:30Z

First of all I must say that the basic setup is very well done. Neat graphics, well done camera feeling and obviously wisely chosen music. The map has also a lot to offer and for the scope of the game even a bit too much I would say. The game play is pretty simplistic which is not necessary bad but the overall game mechanics seem less developed than the graphics (and I set my eye on game mechanics, sorry for that) :) Other than that I would say that the topic was shitty anyways so I don't care that it was not really implemented into that game. Overall it's a nice little game which would need a slight pimp up on the variety of game play options.

Paper Jump by Jigurd 2019-10-09T21:57:00Z

Another rather unique idea. Although I had to reload the page to be able to play the game, I was able to play it in browser. The menu on browser is very buggy but nothing I was really bothered by. I liked the art style with the piece of paper in the background. The feature to draw your platform was also a cool mechanic to play with (even when a bit buggy, drawing a few cm behind your actual starting point). After the first few jumps I was wondering where the challenge was at until I discovered the monster beneath me and quickly realized that my end was near :) So the beast from beneath might have been a little bit too hard for my skill level but I very much liked the idea of that feature. Further I must also emphasize that the Theme was incorporated very well into that game. It is in fact very hard to jump, draw and pay attention to the enemy at the same time but definitely wort to have a look at. Good Job!

Empty Level by shevek 2019-10-09T21:44:43Z

That was some unique game play! It really embraced the spirit of "start with nothing" in the best way that I saw it so far. Although the tactic was pretty simple and repeating after the first few levels, it was a unique idea for a mini game. It was a bit too easy because you were able to create the whole level on your own and some AI counter level building would have been nice but probably also way too much for the jam. Anyways, neat game!

Nothing45 by StickyGames 2019-10-09T22:05:41Z

I think I can agree on all points with Kazatan. The atmosphere is really well done in the beginning and the theme is well put into focus there. That "HEALTH" is your health is a fun feature as well. I feel like the "art-flow" is not as consistent as I would like it too be (some graphics have recieved much more care than others) but that is flaming on high levels. Well done!

Snow Ball by Cryptex 2019-10-11T14:48:56Z

That was a really lovely small game. I had really fun playing it and liked that it was built in an endless fashion. I played it with no loudspeakers around so I can not rate the sound quality. At first I didn't have any introduction on how to play the game and what it is about but once found out I had a lot of fun moving down trees :) The Restart screen didn't seem to work for me (browser) and I had some landscapes where there was simply nothing but snow which was a bit annoying. But Overall it was simply very well done with the Terrain deformation, procedural generation (at least it feels that way) and the overall game play feeling.

Really well done!

Disabled Hospital by Paulsams 2019-10-08T12:37:40Z

Unique little game. I knew after looking at the title that the game would drift in a weird direction. And I like the art style and the weird concept. There are many smaller bugs but I didn't expect it to be bug free anyway and it is rather fun to find exploits and bugs.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. We are aware that there are occasional crashes or that the music has some issues from time to time but we are obviously still very happy to see you enjoy the game despite these flaws.
