LD30 — Connected Worlds

Heart Star by AdventureIslands 2014-08-30T23:18:00

Great game! Complete from start to finish. Decent 8-bit audio and 8-bit general feel. Dual worlds are laid out well. Characters are lovable. Mild humor by stepping on each other's heads to get to the next platform. This would make a good 2-player side by side or arcade with 2 screens.

Portal 3D by Bendix 2014-08-31T00:23:00

Wished I could walk into that saloon at the start...

Willy The Triangle by coolo 2014-08-30T21:10:00

The music got to me after about 30 seconds. It was neat to switch between the planes/worlds, but was kinda hard to see at such a tilted view.

Whiteout by primaerfunktion 2014-08-30T23:49:00

I played through a couple times trying to find my way. That being said... I'm now shivering and don't want to leave the house. Great job on engaging sound and visuals to give the player a sense of loneliness and cold. ;)

Space Lasso by jrkirby 2014-08-30T21:40:00

Neat how you can tie chains of planets instead of strictly the star. I got over 24 at a time to orbit the star. It then dropped to 12 and I could keep adding planets to planets, but the star grouping was way off screen.

The Warehouse Connection by Jesper Oskarsson 2014-08-30T21:03:00

Solid game logic. The crates hide stuff well, but I could always find the next tower if I went to one that I could see, so it stayed pleasant. No music and single player ended with yellow. It's off to a great start! I wish I would be teleported to somewhere other than this warehouse... kinda starts to make you claustrophobic like the intro to Portal / Portal 2 in their initial chamber. I could see this becoming a fun platform for a capture the flag sort of game. Add weapons and opponents and you've got base defense / capture the flag?

Dream World by Levi D. Smith 2014-09-01T20:08:00

This one is kinda scary. I did like the coin noises and traditional platformer sound effects. Voiceovers and music and little red guys are sure to give nightmares to little kids! :-o

1492 by Hexadecima1 2014-08-30T19:59:00

Hilarious interactive story-telling! Wish I could have crash landed Zelda, or ran Peach into a castle. USS Apple Pies fell off the earth!

Heaven or Hell by EMAK 2014-08-30T17:54:00

Fun and addictive, yet challenging. High quality graphics with an old-school feel. :)

Heaven with Hell by Kyle Mac 2014-08-31T01:56:00

Very nice looking game. Complete with exit menu. Fullscreen didn't work well on Mac 1080p but windowed worked great. Had to install JDK to play. Glad you put a readme in the download. The music gets old quick, but the sound effects give it a nice arcade feel. Great job! The ending made me chuckle, so you get some nice humor points. :)

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-30T22:45:00

WOW! This would be perfect aside from all of my i5 processors running 50-80% once the music kicks in. Love the additive transitions and the story telling. Loved the music and how it ties in with the transitions. A wonderful find and a surprising entry from such a short dev time. Definitely an honor to connect this world to its ending credits. :)

@ReactorScram : I must have missed getting the data zipped up with the exe originally on Jacob's Ladder. I've re-zipped them and uploaded. It should hopefully fire up now. Thanks for checking out Jacob's Ladder! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=41421

Space Vikings by sharpcoder 2014-08-30T20:44:00

I survived 146 weeks of battle!... The ukulele was very calming. I lost track how much time I spent playing this one. I think it'd make a hit on a tablet/touch device! Satisfyingly long gameplay out of simple mechanics made for a pleasurable experience.

Walled In by rainybyte 2014-08-30T21:18:00

I loved pulling Matrix maneuvers jumping over enemies and shooting them in the air from behind! How did you make the music?... its awesome and reminds me of some of my favorite games from way back when (1980's/1990's). The music and graphics tie in great with the era of the premise of the story (1980's?). I love that the hair flies around when you are airborne! Keep it up! (Jammin' out to the end-game music as I write this) :)

Connecting Worlds. by Damian Schloter 2014-09-01T20:54:00

This is great! Its like Homeworld meets USPS! I wish I could repair the ship somewhere on top of the refueling. Otherwise, that was fun!

Elyseus by Crocanti de Pollo 2014-08-30T23:56:00

Good gameplay and nice transitions. I phased through all stages on what I thought was an intro/title screen and it said game over with credits... maybe don't send hordes until a button is pressed? Otherwise, a fun little game!

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-30T22:31:00

Nice Job! Its like blacklight air-hockey with yourself... and monsters. :)

Stay in Fate by sneeuwpopsneeuw 2014-08-31T00:45:00

Pretty... I couldn't get past the huge red block.

String Pong by Shmackson 2014-08-30T20:14:00

It took me awhile to figure out that I needed to click "versus" before moving to the keyboard. All documentation said use wasd and keys. Otherwise, interesting take on a few classics. The rocket guy reminds me of Nes from Earthbound and his yoyo.

The fun sounds remind me of FFVII ! It gets quiet after the flower trip music ends.

@ Kyle Mac : The level is designed as a maze with multiple paths and multiple exits. I'll post a developer picture of the entire layout soon. :)

Tangled Mini Worlds by Lars-Kristian 2014-08-30T20:05:00

I loved all 6 Puzzles! I loved the little jiggle the houses make.

AirShip Defense by StabAlarash 2014-08-30T22:21:00

I like how the camera rolls a bit and then straightens back out when turning. It took some thought before I realized I could go back to the same power station to connect the rest of the turrets. I like the clouds. How did you get those to work in Unity? Overall nice job on a fun little battle.

The Fall of Man by FacticiusVir 2014-08-30T19:48:00

I like the sparkles from the planets when zoomed out after exploring a bit. The concept reminds me of StarGate and would be fun to see the ships up close.
