LD42 — Running out of space

Awesome use of basic geometry to make something look great fast! The bg music is great too! Lots of nice levels, super impressive!

I liked the boosted air control you get by being able to toggle sprint, I could fly across the level but then hone in a pinpoint landing. But that leads me to the main reason I had to stop playing, the collision detection on the pickups just felt unfair, I would be practically clipping into them and then start jumping away only to notice it hadn't registered. I also felt like my 'feet' should extend farther, I seemed to just skim over the top of the pickups until I got frustrated.

There was also one bug where I was looking straight down, then jumped and my camera was able to rotate past my feet and ended up inverted.

Overall the only detractors from this game were the little polish bugs, a fun game that I'd like to see more of!

Awesome game, I love the graphics, those animations are so good!

Also on macOS, I was able to get past the intro screen and start playing and it was fullscreen but the actual graphics only filled the bottom left quarter of the screen and the mouse didn't match up. Gut instinct was maybe HiDPI handling is having trouble?

Awesome music, love how it got more intense as I speeded up!

Love the audio and graphics for this one! As others have mentioned all the rules are overwhelming and it does feel like the controls a bit unresponsive and times which makes me doubt if I'm playing correctly.

I'm going to need to look into TIC-80!

Had my speakers unplugged earlier, and got this error on startup, just fyi, goes away when there actually is an audio device to initialize! ``` thread 'main' panicked at 'called `Result::unwrap()` on an `Err` value: AudioError("Could not initialize sound system (for some reason)")', libcore\result.rs:945:5 ```

I like the concept, it reminds me a bit of some classic JezzBall. That risk of shooting and my bad aim has made me say that the best strat is to just never shoot. Sound and graphics are pretty rough, but that can be polished up, the core mechanic is fun!

fyi, not easily playable as a colorblind person!

I'm guessing the macOS and linux builds are in progress? Tag me when that's ready and I'd love to try it out!

I really liked this one! Awesome use of the theme, it does seem like it would be more intuitive to just double press the move button rather than space. The protagonist was very relatable, sometimes you just gotta toot.

Love the simple graphics and intuitive gameplay! Could be a great little mobile game with the simple controls.

I really dig the vector style, I've got a soft spot for that kind of thing.

I'm not a fan of the looping background track, maybe the eerie silence of space would have done better.

The shrinking field is a nice touch on the asteroids style, and seems dead on as far as the theme goes.

It took me a second to get used to the 'chase the mouse' control scheme but I like it, though the ship moves so fast that I mostly focused on keeping the mouse moving and forgot to shoot my laser lol.

Is There Enough Space? by chipolux 2018-08-15T01:35:57Z

@wongkongphooey I've added some instructions and details! I was shooting for hyper-minimalism but it was harder to pull off than I thought. Thanks for the feedback!
