My computer is dying in this game. But the game looks beautiful Screenshot 2025-04-08 155945.png

Awesome sauce

redscipio 2025-04-08 13:24

Lag a lot at first, but then it's fine, but no gold on the map I like voxel and digging

basekeet 2025-04-08 13:28

The game has a cute, cozy vibe like Terraria or Minecraft — the music really adds to that feeling. But after digging for 5–10 minutes, I still couldn’t figure out how to craft anything besides the pickaxe and the lamp :(

lollister 2025-04-08 13:36

After startup my CPU (Amd Ryzen 7 5700X) instantly went up to 100% CPU usage the whole time your game runs. You should review what is exactly causing this. Ping me afterwards so i can test again. Im interested in playing it longer just not under this condition.

2025-04-08 13:40

I agree with @basekeet fully, this game has a great atmosphere. I didn't realize I had to research the lamp before I could research the cutting table or anvil. There also felt like a lack of coal, which could have just been bad luck. Last piece of criticism, I play Minecraft at high FOVs because low ones (like this game) make me feel sick after extended playtimes, so some sort of FOV slider would be nice.

I'd hazard a guess that the 72 hour time limit prevented these issues from being discovered / addressed, so with that this is a great game. I love the voxel aesthetic, the little cave lights, and the simplicity of the ui.

I'm not a big fan of the mining gameplay (but that's just my preferences in videogames in general).

However ! The atmosphere, the sound and the design are amazing. It really feels like you're deep underground.

When I stopped playing I had my headphones on and I forgot to turn the game off. I realized 10min later that I had the music loop in my ears and it didnt bother me at all because it's a great vibe.

Thank you all for your kind comments. It's pleasant to have your feedbacks.

For your information we are currently looking about what can cause massive performances issues on certain hardware. Will also try to add some fixes to improve your experience in general.

So overall it's a really good game, beautiful art style and lighting. Sound design and music are good.

So my laptop didn't have much of an issue running this game, I didn't see any noticeable frame drops or stuttering, but it definitely got hot which I can tell by my fans as well as just feeling my laptop (i5-12450h, 3050 mobile and 16gb ram).

I got relatively far, I got up to the diamond pickaxe (not handle but I can't think what the top part is called). As far as I can tell all the ores do spawn you just need to go deeper for better ores, which is normal for a mining game. So people that couldn't get past the iron and coal crafting just didn't dig deep enough.

The only issue I could see was that when mining you could sometimes see through the walls, my guess is that it's because the back of the ground isn't rendered and sometimes when you mine it takes a second to render the newly generated ground. For a game jam game that's not an issue, but if you guys decide to take this game further you'd want to look into that.

Honestly as an unreal game this is extremely impressive. The mechanics are extremely unique and I didn't really think something like this would be possible in unreal engine, but you guys proved me wrong. You often hear about this super realistic games that often seem to be extremely similar in the way they approach visuals and mechanics. This game has such a unique art style and plays so differently from a typical unreal game which I really enjoy.

Sorry for the long comment btw

flokami 2025-04-08 15:19

I may have played this too much time xD ! The mechanics are a bit slow, all the fun is try to reach the dynamite and at this moment... oh boy i've played like 20 minutes wtf. So well, it's nice I suppose xD

peringo 2025-04-08 19:22

I love the voxel models. Performance was fine on my end, even though it did get the fans spinning. I crafted everything I could, but couldn´t find any gold even though I dug forward and down until it wouldn´t let me anymore. I chased some of the golden particles coming out of the wall, but they only led to coal and iron as well. Good effort!

roxxorxx 2025-04-08 19:24

@peringo Thank for your comment. Gold should be deeper than you think. If you want to go deeper faster maybe try to use some explosive :p good luck

Hey,

New update available

You can find the changelog here:

goldyxen 2025-04-08 20:58

A fine game but i ran into bugs and performance issues. Makes me wanna go play Teardown again.

When i looked up or down the game would lag depending on my depth. I also couldn't place lanterns. You can also get research on things you've already researched which led me to loose my progress.

There were also giant purple cubes that stopped me from moving. But they would go away after a while.

colisan 2025-04-08 21:46

I clipped out of bound while dig-jumping upward downstairs... but it was so, soooooo beautiful, I'm not mad anymore for my progress loss :sparkles:  :sparkles:

lionheart-Win64-Shipping_2025-04-08_23-39-04.png

Apart from that, the progression was nice and the feeling of digging was very enjoyable. I'm a bit sad that there's no ending after falling into the final hollow layer... but I love the (way too much) time I spent playing. Well done

ruslana 2025-04-08 22:34

Cute. It reminds me of something :)

roxxorxx 2025-04-08 23:01

@goldyxen hey thanks for your feedback. we’ve uploaded an update with the fix for the lanterns and a potential improvement for the performance. Do not hesitate to test it back :D

nuin 2025-04-08 23:20

Holy shit that took forever I played for over an hour and got all the upgrades, the drill went hard. It was a bit tedious at times but I loved the feeling of progression, there's a shit ton of content in here for only 3 days

apt-prose7 2025-04-09 03:09

VERY GREAT

ashe-liu 2025-04-09 04:28

Great cozy game reminds me of the good time at Minecraft. I love the audio, it is very peacful and lovely. The sensitivity is too high which is a little dizzy.

j4cko16 2025-04-09 04:31

Very impressive for just 3 days, the graphics are insane. I could go on and on about how good this game is but other people seemed to have already done so, so I will just give a little bit of "advice" or an idea if you want to keep going with this. I love the little first area but I wish there was more terrain to explore. This reminds me alot of minecraft and in minecraft as you dig sometimes you can find little caves, it would be so cool to encounter little caves as I dig and perhaps have zombies and such to whack with my pickaxe!

flinge 2025-04-09 10:38

Great game with beautiful visuals and solid theme integration. But yeah... it kinda melts my computer — classic Unreal Engine moment

jona-scheidig 2025-04-09 12:42

Minecraft killer

katzengebaeck 2025-04-09 15:24

cant imagine how you did this in 3 days

roitchie 2025-04-09 18:54

Wow this is actually incredible. I'm shocked you made this in 3 days. It scratches my minecraft splunking itch. I kept expecting to reach out of bounds but nope it just keeps going. I assume it's some sort of voxel based infinite gen. I'd love to know how you made the terrain generation. It was really fun to explore and craft upgrades and new items. I'd love to see a post dare version with more upgrades, ore types and maybe enemies as others have suggested. This is a really awesome entry. And doubly so making it in 3D. Well done!

Edit: I did actually reach the edge eventually. But still it's a really large area to explore.

cobes 2025-04-09 21:12

Beautiful atmosphere guys. Really something else you pulled off in 3 days. Have a good one :)

tenzz 2025-04-12 18:00

Oh wow, that's a really nice game. Really love the vibe and music, it's just, done right. I’m genuinely impressed that you managed to put all of this together in just 3 days. Hats off to the whole team!

meowcuz 2025-04-14 17:00

It was really cozy and it's easy to get lost digging for the different things you need. It is a little buggy though but it is really fun to play! Great job!

emily-c 2025-04-14 18:05

It was really fun, I managed to upgrade every single thing and went all the way down to the void and also managed to climb myself up :) I might have spent way to much time in the game :P

limered 2025-04-18 13:31

A really nice takeon a MC like game. I coudn't play it properly on my laptop, so i will try it on my main rig, when i'm home. The visual style and audio design are really good and fit perfectly. Voxel destroing is fun and satisfing. I liked digging deeper and finding upgrades, even, if i was getting only 10fps. Props on using unreal.

jorgen 2025-04-22 16:15

Absolutely amazing game, I'm blown away that you made this in 3 days! Super satisfying to dig for new minerals and upgrade my gear, very addictive too. Ran just fine on my potato ancient PC by the way.
