Apparently there can't be more than 9999 soldiers though :( I love your main menu and credits design!

Couldn't play the game properly because of lags. I won't rate the game to be fair.
It looks like a very cool and complex game. Too bad I won't be able to play it.
Also, it would be cool if the tutorial was in the game instead of text.
Nice game! I constantly wanted to survive day after day to see how far I could get. I stopped after accumulating around 4 million food.
This is a really neat concept, it's simple but it works quite well.
Nice presentation, love the intro and the cute ants. I just kept building kitchens and couldn't get really past that point though maybe I didn't build enough the first few rounds?
That was super addictive! I lost count of how many attempts I did, but the most I managed to survive 16 days and I maxed out at 3000 and something ants. Not knowing exactly how many ants I needed to avoid damage made it into a guessing game, but I guess that's also part of what makes it fun since I need to gamble every day.
I don't really have anything negative to say about this, it's very good. Great job!
...although, I guess maybe the enemy sprites could've been cut out better so they don't have those white pixels around the edges xD
Really nice concept. I don't have many negative things to say, great work!
Super addictive game! I love these colony-building games—they take up more of my time than anything else. Also, the sounds and art are fantastic, especially the 'end of the day' sound! 😊
Nice concept! As i said on stream, it's inexplicable to me that this is in Unreal 5 and its not 3d!
The idea seem fun, and I had fun trying it. But for me it was not super clear what was happening, and what I was suppose to do to survive for very long.
Cool game!
I definitely had fun! I was very surprised to see the game was 575 MB unzipped. Was there a whole other sample project in the zip?
I have always liked colony simulating games. It would be nice to have stats on how much ant's collect and how much the colony uses.
It's a nice colony simulation game, althought I would have liked it much more if the hive looked more alive and responsive to the changes. Anyway, it keeped me entertained for a good amount of time.
@jonathandavidlewis That's the downside of using Unreal 5 for such projects, the engine is quite big. Glad you had fun though :-)
@andreadbx yeah, understandable, Unreal Engine 5 games are known to be raytraced graphics orgasms usually, but the engine works nicely for such UI-only games as well and since I got lots of experience with it, it was a no brainer for me. Feel free to recommend some other engines; Unity is the past for me, Godot is quite cumbersome to work with imo. Let me know if you got a recommendation :-)
@buzzydev Sorry to hear that :-/ Sadly we don't really have a quick-fix for that. Regarding your "tutorial ingame" feedback: That's what we would have loved to do, but sadly we ran out of time to have a solid solution for this, but we fully agree with you!
@the-quinnzite-mushroom yeah, we were thinking about Frostpunk-like resource overviews, but ... @braulio-jg Also this, would have loved to have procedural connections between the rooms with ants running all around and a lot more ambience, but ... ... a game is never finished, but the time limit cuts it. Glad you enjoyed it anyway :-)
I wish there was more to the battle scenes than just a still image followed by an after-action report. Some visuals - even maybe just some gauges or numbers - would've helped me better connect my actions with the outcomes.
Also - maybe a slider I can click and drag to establish worker/soldier ratios?
It is pretty hard to understand how many wariors are needed each night, so feels like "random" for me ^^'
And one more game that made in Unreal Engine. Respect for that =D At all I like your game but want more feedback about the night phase. I dont understand how much warriors I need to survive and couz of that I dont have a challenge. Sound when gym builded awesome =D
Great work!
Others have said it, but I'll say it anyway: I would have preferred it if the engine you used didn't make a 500MB+ binary, and require me to install some engine redistributable that requires me to restart my computer for some reason lol... Aside from that, not a bad entry. I survived for 10 days I think. It would have been nice to actually see the ants interacting with the hazards (like see them fighting off a giant wasp or spider or something). Nice work.
This can get addictive fast
I made it eleven days, but man, them warrior ants eat allot! lol
Very cool game! Good job!
