LOOKS FIRE!
Thank you @daniela! We really wanted this game to look nice.
Awesome! Very good entry.
One minor grievance: the shuttles fly through the sun. I also would have liked the Harvest button to be accessable like the "Show crew" to make life easier, but then it would be very simple.
The cats save the world) I like it. It looks great and an atmosphere is pretty decent. I got the Outer Wilds' vibes. Every planet has uniqe name and description.
I played twice but never reached the end, cause it seems to long to gather all resources. I think the upgrades and progression will feet well for this game, but I understand how hard it to develop those systems in this short period.
Awsome entry, good job! Congratulations!
Great entry. For some reason, I was surprised when the sun started to explode, and that was when I really started reading the UI to figure out how to optimise things. The puzzle felt well balanced and I made it out in the end. I only really have two minor gripes. - The art spent most of its time covered by the UIs, but this is tricky since UIs are really necessary and I appreciated their size when using them. - All the zeros at the ends of the numbers made them hard to parse. I counted digits a few times to check whether the income load was enough to satisfy demand. I could have easily misread the number and received 1/10th the progress I expected.
That's all minor stuff, overall it's great.
Really cool game! I really like the idea of the sun expanding to have something to race against.
Yay I saved the civilization :)
Very nice entry, I wish the "Show Crew" button would select the planet the cat was on instead of just moving the camera because right it's not easy the find the right planet, especially on the border of the map were the camera doesn't center properly
The concept is so unique and charming, and the artwork is adorable. The Cat Star Fleet are just so cute, fluffy, and attractive.
I love this concept, and artwork! Very cute cats)
Amazing game loop, good and simple mechanic, decent UX. On top of that, cool background and effect sounds.
Would be cool for space cats to have auto harvest start once they arrive to a planet. Also i didn't understand what's planet hostility means, i guess it's somehow connected with resource gathering speed.
Well done!
Great work! Big plus for all of those geeky references! Gallifrey, Serenity <3
I enjoyed it! Got some Mass Effect vibes.
Hi! Looks cool! Sound, atmosphere - WOW!!!. Reminds me a bit of Mass Effect, when you choose where to go next, and in some parts, collecting resources. )
game with cats? 10/10
I had fun playing it good job :)
Everything was great!
Pretty cool. Could play with it for like 30 minutes if i had the time for it. Also Im a big fan of the cats in astronaut costumes :D
Nice atmosphere!
Great game! I had a fun time playing it. I didn't expect to be as sucked into it as I was!
@ryzhovalex Thanks for playing our game and feedback! planet hostility affects mining speed indeed)
@lucy-z Thank you for appreciating the cuteness of our cat fleet)
@keat-heat Thank you, glad you enjoyed the game)
@neoleg <3
@dahliainosensu Thank you! I'm glad you noticed it)
@googlefrog Thanks for the game and for the detailed feedback! My fault for such a huge UI, mobile game development is making itself felt)
One of the top ones I've played, I really love the gameplay it was a lot of fun to play and I really hope you continue to develop it because it would be really fun to play a full version, all in all great game!
Looks really good, core loop is good, but gets a bit boring after a while just clicking it from one place to another but it's a real good core to work with :D Like the music aswell, really nice polish overall.
@kaiynest thank you very much, your words means a lot to us! I'm really glad you liked it!
@nickhellquist thank you a lot! We tried to balance that routine by having the sun start to expand, but maybe it doesn't happen fast enough for a player to immediately feel challenged.
@daria-toni I think the mechanic is nice, but yeah it does happen a bit slow! It would be nice if the sun expands a bit faster and then the player has some sort of way of slowing the sun's expansion down during the run, then maybe make the ships have to re-route around the sun as it expands so it gets harder and harder to reach the further out planets to make it feel more like you're constantly on the edge :) But I really like the loop, just needs a bit for difficulty maybe or sense of immediate danger :) Sorry for rambling, haha
@nickhellquist nothing to apologize for, it's really cool to hear other people's opinions and suggestions on our game, thanks!
The game looked good and had a good idea, but I just did not get the game. I was basically just confused as to what to do. You did good though.
Fun took a little bit to understand but was able to successfully complete it on the first try
Was pretty fun once I got the hang of it, the UI needed a lot of work though, I wish I could've handled what a cat was doing from a single screen rather than multiple. But still good!
The concept of the Cat Star Fleet is really charming, and the artwork fits the quirky theme perfectly. I loved the atmosphere and the sense of urgency with the sun expanding. However, the gameplay loop did feel a bit repetitive after a while, as most of the time I was just moving between planets. It would be great to introduce more complexity, perhaps with faster sun expansion or obstacles that force you to adjust your strategy mid-game. I also found the UI a bit cumbersome, with some screens blocking the beautiful art and making it hard to manage resources efficiently. Being able to handle everything from a single screen, or adding more feedback on what the cats are doing, would really help. Overall, it's a fun and cute game with a lot of potential, and I'd love to see it developed further!
Wow, what a fun game! The only things I would change/add is the ability for multiple cats to harvest the same planet and an option to minimize the UI because at times it was hard to see the planets.
UPD: I thought "To close a window, use a right button or ESC" was meant as "to close the game window" so I was scared to press it haha
Cool idea! I played until the end and barely managed to save my cats. Great job!
@pyshnyy thanks a lot! Yeah, you can hide the UI by right mouse button and look at the pretty planets, I changed the description to avoid misleading anyone anymore, it's good that you told me about this.
@pcho It's great that it was a challenge for you, but you managed it! Thank you :)
@stormburpee Thank you for such a detailed comment! We're learning from mistakes we made and already have ideas on how we could do something better. This will definitely help us in the future!
@oysterhey Thank you, glad you liked it! Yes, UI could be better, but that's what we had time for. We learned some good lessons for our future developments :)
@jesse-martin Yay, you saved the cat people from full destruction!
@larrymartinjr thanks! Yes, maybe we should've made a short tutorial, but we didn't have enough time for it. The main goal of the game is to collect resources (the required amount is listed above). About 3-5 minutes into the game, the sun will start to grow and destroy nearby planets. The cats must collect resources to fly away before their planet dies.
Great graphics! and an interesting idea, I got a buzz from the game))
Love the story & gameplay! Also, the cats are adorable! Though the sci-fi references were fun, it would have been nice to see some original planet & ship names (especially funny cat related ones). Also, the pop-up panels were a little large proportionally to the main screen. Overall great game, I really really enjoyed it! Also, this could definitely be a fun base to expand on and make a larger game with more levels later on!
@kseniya thank you thank you! So happy to hear that you like it :)
@hilary-fischer Thank you very much for the detailed comment, I'm glad you liked our game and our cats :) We were choosing between original names and references, but in the end we left the references because we used them since prototype stage. As for the large interface - we're both mobile game developers and it shows! There's a habit of making everything large and maximally readable for small screens. Of course, now I understand that everything is simply gigantic lol
Love it! Would recommend to others! Has great music, great mood and great feel, as I felt like an interplanetary marshall or the ruler of the home planet! The steering and commanding system is perfect with nothing more that I would want! Wish there was some random chance that on dangerous planets the cats get lost, but that would have been annoying! I managed to save all the cats.
@martingonn thank you very much for such an amazing comment! I'm glad you saved all the cats :)
Great entry, liked playing it.
Cats can fly through the sun unharmed. That supprised me. (and that the sun started to grow, because I didn't read the description before playing xD ).
WASD controls and/or MMB to pan around would have been nice. And dedicated close-buttons for the Menus. Actually the UI is the only thing holding back the full potential of this one. Smaller Font and overall smaller UI, combined with non-rounded corners on the panel would've made it nicer to look at and to interact with.
But, as said, I liked it, especially that the balance is alright, I got a little bit stressed at the end but it all worked out for the meowing creatures. :D
I liked this entry a lot and somehow it reminded me of a manga about Belka and Strelka (first dogs in space), that didn't die according to mangaka but survived and built their colony on moon away from humans and planned their revenge :D this game's plot was far more kind to humans in this regard, cats are working their paws off! Really liked the music loop and cat sounds, and I wish the was like a fast-forward button when everyone have orders and you're just waiting for them to finish. Cool game in any case, I enjoyed playing it :)
Nice idea and execution, could use a bit more of hazard and other features, but there's already a good looking game a nice game loop which is great in the jam context. Those cat-stronauts look really badass !
Nice game,very interesting plot!!!!Nice job!!!!
@leorid hey, thank you very much for your comment! Actually, there is a dedicated button to close the UI panels, a right mouse button, it is in the description, but you yourself admitted that you did not read it, so :) But this button is there! Yes, decorations of the UI are something we didn't have much time for, we wanted the game to work well first and foremost. Anyway, we're glad you liked it! The meowing creatures <3
@momotiktik thank you very very much! We're happy that you like our game :)
@lofipop ooooh cat-stronauts :3 Glad you liked it!
@exa thank you thank you!
@daria-toni I used the right mouse button to close menus, but what I meant was a dedicated close button for each menu - a red "X" on the top right corner like the one on Windows/MacOS Panels. I wanted to only close the Planet UI while keeping the Cat-UI open. With right mouse button, all the menus closed and I had to re-open the Cat-UI every time.
@leorid oh, yeah, agree with that! We weren't too worried about it because we were focused on other aspects of development, to be honest. But still, agree :)
Hey! Right off the bat, I want to say that everything in the game feels polished—the visuals, music, mechanics, and concept. The perfect harmony between the visuals and music makes the immersion top-notch. I truly enjoyed the experience. The cats are the best. Well done!
An absolutely fantastic idea: having cats save the world—what could be cooler than that? And to convey "Tiny," we always need something much larger for comparison, and it's clear that your contrast couldn't be better. Moreover, the overall performance of the game is truly impressive; each stage presents problems that are just within our ability to solve, yet challenging enough. The level of polish you've achieved is really great. And relatively speaking, these materials also make the game more interesting. I really like your game, and I hope you will like ours as well.
