the game was really fun to play. I enjoyed planning which planets to land on to conserve energy. the messages received when hovering over items made it clear what everything does. Wasn't sure if it was intended that the alien home world was always charged at 60% and never changed.

adam-gallina 2023-10-03 03:20

@rena glad you liked it! In theory the homeworlds were supposed to be change the charge level, so not sure what happened there

Really liked playing this! The graphic is low res but very cute and the management aspects are interesting and can be explored a bit.

Really liked the planet graphics and overall cohesion of it. Pretty fun to build buildings, harvest, and zip around. I didn't make it far after the tutorial b/c it didn't seem new. Really well executed overall. Oh and sometimes the UI overlapped the planets and I would accidently move to a planet i didn't mean to.

Game was a bit easy but that didn't stop me from playing it for over an hour. Love this one. The graphics I really love too. The pixelated 3D models are nostalgic in a way I can't explain, and the gameplay loop is fun.

Really nice work! Not the same at all but totally reminded me of my favorite pc game from the 90's as a kid: "Inner space" haha. Cheers

adam-gallina 2023-10-03 18:13

@themixedmaster yeah, I wanted to make it a bit more difficult but ran out of time to balance, the outposts ended up being a little more overpowered than I expected. Glad it didn't get boring quickly though!

Really enjoyed the game and everything is super well explained. The low res prerendered 3d look ws charming too.

Ok, I finally got some time to boot into Windows and play this game. I really enjoyed. This is a game that you could really get into. I just played the tutorial for the jam, but everything was very clear. My only feedback would be that sometimes when the tutorial text was displaying, I couldn't see the text for what the planets could do. An option to hide the tutorial text would be nice.

adam-gallina 2023-10-04 17:49

@johnsensei glad the tutorial was clear - I threw it together semi panicked right before submitting when I realized the game was a bit complex to learn so it could use a lot of polish

Fun little resource management game! But the aliens didn't really pose a threat, they mostly just invaded planets away from my core worlds allowing me to easily gather electronics. But still, it was quite enjoyable to play through :D good job!

nomus 2023-10-05 00:36

Took me 3 runs to really make it work, really nice game i loved it

I enjoy these pre-rendered graphics. Just change background and it would look pretty good

Very nice aesthetic, and simple yet fun gameplay. A great entry. The fail state wasn't made clear at first, as you can travel to planets with aliens with no issue. Trying to build on planets was a bit frustrating sometimes as the tooltip gets in the way so the click doesn't register, and the greyed out buttons could be more clearly disabled.

adam-gallina 2023-10-05 21:02

@frib, Yeah, I wanted to make the aliens move towards the center more aggressively, but had to settle for random movement from time - glad you liked it though!

@jormarysky I promise it was supposed to have an actual background...I had an image lined up in my downloads that I completely forgot about lol - graphics were a lot of fun to make tho, thanks!

@someone I completely forgot to talk about that in the tutorial, whoops - and good to know, I'll definitely improve the UI if I go forward with the project, thanks!

Was pretty dang fun! Bonus points for having a tutorial, you the real MVPs for that.

ping78 2023-10-06 09:00

Now I'm sad my game has no tutorial. What a nice and unique game, I loved it. Well Done.

deadjolly 2023-10-15 16:16

The tutorial level was really welcome, as it helped simplify the concepts and helped prepare me for the bigger maps. This game had a bit of an X-Com vibe to it, getting ready for the imminent threat. I liked the rotating worlds and how you could see the buildings built on them. Might have slowed down the rotation speed as it was slightly distracting compared to the turn-based nature of the game. Having a clear goal from the start in "The Big One" is a great way to give the player an objective. Overall, good job!

zimny11 2023-10-15 21:34

Really interesting concept! Took me a moment to figure out how to play, but after that it was fun. Good job!

sergio-nikol 2023-10-20 16:17

Interest gameplay. I hope you'll finish this game.
